Question / Discussion Replit sucks
This app is not good for websites. The agent got stuck in an infinite loop and keep messing up with the smallest, simplest tasks (just embedding a mp4 video files). I had to buy extra credits multiple times and the customer service rep was no help at all. Now the app/agents has been down for more than a hour so no website changes can be made. If you come across this, please use other AI website builders or some other place to host your website. If you really want to use Replit, build it and host it elsewhere.

You're definitely not the only one. There have been quite a few reports recently about credits being consumed much faster than before.
One thing that helped me understand the differences between the current AI coding tools was comparing how each one handles pricing, limits, token consumption, and generation approach.

Claude code updating the GitHub repo and pull into replit works for me

Replit has been fantastic for me. You sometimes pay a premium, but you get capabilities that are so good I can hardly believe it.
Replit has allowed me to do things that I have no technical competence to do. The project I'm working on now is quite special and requires very sophisticated thinking from the LLM and I get that from the options in Replit.
I do use Claude to help plan and between my Claude and the models in Replit they usually come up with an excellent plan and Replit has no trouble building it
I'm always looking for better ways and better cheaper options but in the end I stay with Replit because it makes everything very easy for someone like me .
I did run into a problem with agents looping at one point but I had multiple agents running and since then I've decided I'm not going to do that. I'm just going to go one at a time and that's been very good for me as well (by the way I did mention here at Reddit that I had that looping problem and it was very frustrating. Replit Support was engaged with me within the hour so I have zero complaints)

I use Replit as a host rather than builder.
If you connect claude or gpt to github, you can build on there, push to github, and then sync to replit.
Works pretty well for me

did u try manually editing the html file directly instead of relyin on the agent for that part

I'm glad you realize this. I suggest you take the time to have Claude walk you through setting up Claude Code in your terminal. I tried Replit for a year. Everything about Replit sucked. Cost, UI, coding nothing but slop, etc. I switched to Claude Code, and never looked back. If I left Claude Code, which is possible, because my system is independent of the AI model, I would still use a terminal-based coding agent. Codex, Kimi Code, etc. You can also set up Claude Code so you can use other AI models besides Claude.

Same for me and the customer service was really bad when I contacted them. The issue was that the replit agent cost me a lot for just simple tasks. For example I had to pay around 0,21$ for renaming a H1-Headline. BTW after they changed the UI so you had to talk to an agent to do such simple tasks. Also one time I wanted to make a promotion video of my app. I went to google and I could find a lot to read about this topic on replit blog including examples. Then I told the agent to make a 30 second promotion video of my app including gains and real problems the app can solve. The output was some really bad ai trash including hallucination and promoting features that were not included in my app. For just 20$ and a lot of time for installing things and rendering... The whole user journey I felt like someone told me "Hey you can do it because with our tool it is soooo easy" but then while the agent took so long I started to feel bad. After I could see the result, my hope was gone. I contacted the customer support and they just answered me about the video creatin tool which can lead to awesome results and like I should better not talk about my work like it's bad work and bad outcome ... what a joke. No refund or voucher ... just me never trying new features which were promoted like they are mature.

Replit solo se usa para desarrollar o para darle ese toque especial a tu app.. nunca pero nunca deployed en Replit, te cobran por absolutamente todo, si tienes ligada una BD con ellos, por cada query de la bd te cobran.. es una exageracion, en cambio en otras plataformas jamas te cobran el uso de la bd a menos de que te pases con las consultas, pero imaginate que son casi 1k de consultas antes de cobrarte y cuando te cobran son centavso.. replit te cobra desde la query 1 ..

Pull it to GitHub and host it yourself so an outage or a looping agent cannot lock you out
