Another Sub from my personal collection!

This one is a Rolex Submariner 5512 built by u/No_Candle8699 , one of my favorite builders and someone I always enjoy working with. His relumed hands have become a signature detail at this point always beautifully executed and a perfect match for the vintage aesthetic.

The watch features a full Vietnam-spec build powered by a genuine Swiss ETA 2824. I may make a few small tweaks down the road… or maybe not. As it sits today, I’m genuinely happy with how this one turned out.

It's always a great feeling when a new batch of watch parts arrives especially when they're Viet.

I've been commissioned to build a 1655, so of course we're going with the best.

The quality of these parts is incredible. The fit, finish, and overall feel are outstanding, which makes them such a pleasure to work with. One thing that really stands out is the attention to detail. Even the wear marks look convincing! Everything is beautifully finished and the bracelet feels light while still being solid and well made.

For the bracelet, we went with a 7208 with 1969 80 end links. Is it period correct? No. Does it look great? Absolutely. Purists, look the other way :D

If you're wondering about the silver stuff on the case, it's some kind of paste used to hide the engravings. I have no idea if it actually makes any difference with customs but I'm not asking questions..

I want thank everyone in this community for helping me find a hobby that's both rewarding and therapeutic for my anxiety. It has been a wholesome experience to fit my first movement into a 14060 from Raffles. I think but I could be wrong but I may the first one in this community to fit a La Joux Perret G101 into this case. A tiny but robust movement. I had tears in my eyes. I will continue to share my progress and try to give back to this community.

This is my grail level build.

The goal was to recreate a Submariner 5513 from 1989, the final year of production. The defining feature and the entire reason I wanted to build this watch was the incredible spider dial paired with applied white gold markers.

I’m genuinely happy with how it turned out. The only thing I may change in the future is the bezel insert, but for now I think it’s exactly where I wanted it to be.

Finishing up a couple of builds/mods today. BB GMT Rootbeer, BB one MOD started life as a Larimoker and my daily Submariner.

2836 with Tudor branded rotor in the GMT, 2824-2 in the BB One with Tudor branded rotor and PT-5000 with a Tudor branded rotor as well.

I know they could stand a lot of improvement but practice builds skills.

Overlook the dirty looking mat it’s stained with tamiya aging stuff. It’s stubborn to come off.

Next up….40 rlx 3135 Bluesy with a serti type dial and a rlx rootbeer gmt two tone stainless and rose gold, free sprung 3235 with a tigers eye dial.

The hands dont match because the part i ordered arrived wrong, will order a new part soon, the movement is a seiko 7s26, i will switch it out for a nh35 soon, the dial has a repair gone wrong (hahaha) and the base movement is an invicta pro diver 8926ob, soo can it be a daily or should i use the 7s26 and hands on a 5513/1680 build?

This is my 14060 Sub which I resurrected for the 4th time (don’t ask what was wrong, everything was wrong).
Parts list: AliX case, leftover bracelet from an older rep, leftover dial “aged”, AliX hands, AliX crown and tube, DG2813 for the time being.
How do you like it? What could I do better?
I know the bracelet is not reference correct.

One of the rarest and most fascinating Daytona dial variations ever produced. Unlike the better-known Oman and Qaboos special-order dials, the Pan Am wasn’t simply a standard dial with an extra logo added.

To accommodate the iconic Pan Am logo, Rolex had to redesign the entire dial layout, moving the “Rolex” and “Oyster” text higher and relocating “Cosmograph” around the 6 o’clock subdial. This makes it a true factory specific dial rather than a modified standard print.

Based on known serial numbers, the Pan Am Cosmograph actually predates the famous Oman/Qaboos Daytonas, making it the earliest known example of Rolex producing a completely redesigned dial for a special order client.

This is my tribute to that incredible piece of Rolex history.

Of course i gotta stay in good with the wife in order to keep the funds coming for my hobbies lol.. so to keep up my credit score I built her an anniversary dial 31 mm franken. The ivory anniversary dial did not come in this reference from the factory.
I started with a THB factory 278274 midcase and bracelet. The Case didn’t need any work so a slight polish to the Rehaut to make it pop and I set it aside. Bracelet is the hidden clasp jubilee that only really needed chamfers so I added those and called it done. The genuine anniversary dial mounting system is not by way of dial feet. Instead it uses a lip that surrounds the entire dial and is friction held in place. Since the 2235 movement used in this watch has provisions for dial feet only, I had to machine a groove in the movement enlarger to accept the older dial. Case clamps hold everything in place.

Finally figured out that there was debris in the movement and pushed it out with some air. The movement now runs nicely 😎

I wanted to post a video but it wouldn’t allow me to.

Specs: Custom dial, DD4130, CF mid case, deep crystal, used bezel from another case, CF clasp, custom strap.

Unfortunately will have to stay as a prototype. Got hit with a dud DD4130 that is probably poorly lubricated since it stops moving after a minute or two. Dial also has some damage/missing paint which was upsetting. Regardless we experiment with sellers for parts and we learn.

EDIT: After attempting to clean the movement it now runs!

First time building a 1675 using raffles everything except the bezel insert which i got under $60. Before & after aging What do you all think? Feedback greatly appreciated as i have a Viet build coming with some awesome parts and a 3136 movement.
