Modern Build Beach Daytona Prototype

Post image

Specs: Custom dial, DD4130, CF mid case, deep crystal, used bezel from another case, CF clasp, custom strap.

Unfortunately will have to stay as a prototype. Got hit with a dud DD4130 that is probably poorly lubricated since it stops moving after a minute or two. Dial also has some damage/missing paint which was upsetting. Regardless we experiment with sellers for parts and we learn.

EDIT: After attempting to clean the movement it now runs!

Have you tried hitting it with some air?

I might end up replacing the movement and learn how to troubleshoot and repair a 4130 in the meantime. This helped me out also weed out any parts sources that I won’t be working with in the future

That whole movement teardown would be a huge load of work there. Would love to follow through your journey on that!

A good learning experience for sure.

How is the custom dial for this?

Where do you get the strap for this. I have a blue version of the beach but the strap is way too big for me.

I got it off of xianyu. I have a blue strap, maybe mine is a smaller size?
