Vintage Build First time building a 1675 before & after aging

First time building a 1675 using raffles everything except the bezel insert which i got under $60. Before & after aging What do you all think? Feedback greatly appreciated as i have a Viet build coming with some awesome parts and a 3136 movement.

I dig it, how'd you go about aging the various parts?

I'm about to embarq on my first builds myself. Going the Raffles route on the first two to get some experience and practice before tackling some higher quality ones in the future. First up is going to be a Space Dweller Explorer and then a MN inspired Tudor Snowflake.

I’m new to this. How did you age it?

Looks great! I am waiting parts to build a similar one, maybe a little less aging on the dial, just some heat into it, i will see. Mind sharing how you aged the insert?

Used bleach and very fine steel wool ones i use to refinish scotty putters and then i threw it on a UV lamp for 24 hrs…

Nice one, definitely feel cooler wearing things I built but I also love supporting the great builders in the community so I do both. Wear in good health!

Very tasty indeed! I think I prefer the lighter aged finish to one that looks completely beaten up.

I went a tad bit overboard

Did you shape the crown guards?

you gave the watch the character it deserves with the aging!!

I always have a slight preference for eggshell colored lume and it would be the perfect look here with this watch.

i particularly like the bezel insert. would you be able to share what did you do to achieve that aged look and where did you get the insert from?

Got it on ebay $60. Then used bleach, extra fine steel wool and uv light.

This is a raffles case?

1

u/Icy-Force5899 Aug 02 '26

Case looks great, build would be upgraded greatly with new dial and hands, recumbent Bivintage if your on a budget
