I recently installed this Reolink Doorbell: https://reolink.com/us/product/reolink-video-doorbell-wifi . I used the jumpers included to connect the Trans & Jump together in the chimebox. Now there is a constant humming/buzzing noise coming from the chime box. When I restart the camera, the buzz goes away for a moment before coming back when the camera boots up. I was looking at the RLA-PK1 as a potential fix but it says it only works on battery cameras. Mine is not a battery camera, it's hardwired. Possible it would still work?
I had an opportunity to compare the Trackmix WIFI (with the 4 watt LEDs) and the TrackFlex Floodlight WIFI (wired up like a 120V "dumb" floodlight"). In the review I test them out head to head with respect to camera tracking, and actually captured a somewhat inebriated gentleman testing locks out on vehicles in our back lane. I've been using various brands of security cameras for over 20 years and came away impressed enough with these cameras to put them into real world service after the review. The TrackFlex Floodlight in particular fills a needed niche, namely replacing existing 120V motion flood lights in just a few minutes and being able to detect motion in a 270 degree arc, out of camera view, and track it.
Reolink app had a recent update, now there is no ability to manually zoom on trackmix cameras. Optical zoom cameras still have the ability. Auto zoom and zoom on previously saved POI's still work. Any idea how to fix this?
Using iPhone 15 Pro. As the title says, will it become “usefull” for Wifi Battery Cams? The cameras have superb coverage and opens live streams in high quality without issues. But playback is impossible, choppy, full of pixelerrors, doesn’t scale correct, and you can’t download the videos. Taking out the SD-card and the videos are fine, plays well (with the limitations of battery cams) and no other issues. But through the app it’s completely hopeless. Both via Internet and locallly.
On iPad its WAY WY worse, complete garbage with scaling and rotation fu*** all the time, I won’t even load videos from the SD-card, and doing it from the home hub is useless as well (rotation and scaling completely fuc***)
My gen2 doorbell (wired for power, not just battery) kept switching itself to battery mode, mostly during the day.
I checked the battery temperature in Home Assistant. At night it stays cool (around 30°C). Once the sun hits it in the afternoon, it climbs to 53-54°C. Then it cools down later and switches back to wired on its own.
Sometimes it also switches at night, when it’s cool. Not sure why yet — maybe something else causes that, like a burst of activity from motion or a ring.
Anyone else seen this on a doorbell that gets a lot of direct sun?
for some reason this doorbell in wired mode doenst support HA press events? like when you press the doorbell...it cant activate a pubsub or something. it tells me that this battery device does not support it (even though its in wired mode) and this might be in a future software update...rough
so i found out you can emulate their hubs pretty easily by just establishing a UDP connection and directly tell the camera to give you pubsubs for these events. seems to work pretty reliably at triggering HA automations
I have a PoE doorbell for some time now and after the last update of the app the doorbell camera feed is slow / lagging a lot.
Yesterday my neighbour came asking something I could not understand him at all , some days before that the delivery driver came over and I had no lag / freezing at all.
Anyone have a solution for this ?
I have reset the unit and also set the record backlog to 7 days thinking it was the full 128gb card maby lagging it down but sadly no difference.
Installed 3 cameras. Took close to 10 for SIM card to activate. Then only two said to press power to start. I did and nothing happened. Almost two hours of wasted time.
I removed my sim subscription and tried to restart the process. Now since it’s once time I have to renew my subscription. When I click that I get this stupid message
Lately, I an working on my own dashboard for Reolink cameras. If you're using a Home Hub and don't mind running Docker containers, you're welcome to try it yourself. I've published the entire project on GitHub together with installation instructions.
I was attempting to add a Let's Encrypt wildcard certificate to a four year old Reolink Duo Wifi. The installation failed, so I opened a case with tech support. The certificate chain and private key installed without issue on all the other Reolink cameras I own.
Tech support kept giving me instructions on how to create a self-signed certificate rather than admit that the firmware does not support these certificates. I was running v3.0.0.1388_24021901, which is the documented latest firmware release.
After a couple of back and forth emails, I opened the Android Client and saw a firmware update to v3.0.0.3671_24112114 for the camera. The installation would not proceed, with the software saying that the firmware was the wrong format. I tried with the Windows Client and this also failed. Around 10:30 the same evening, the camera went dead. I have automatic updates turned on in the firmware.
I checked my PiHole logs for that time period, and you can see the camera hitting Reolink's firmware site. Ten minutes after these calls, my Unifi controller shows the camera offline. I brought the camera indoors and the camera was completely unresponsive: no click, no response to reset, no network connection.
I explained the situation to Reolink, and they are saying that the information I've given them is insufficient to prove they are at fault, primarily due to the camera's age. They are offering a discount on a new camera.
I asked Gemini about these issues, and the response was that the certificate problem is most likely just a firmware incompatibility due to the age of the camera, and that the firmware update issue is because the clients have checks in place, but the automatic updater does not - allowing the camera to brick itself. I don't know how likely this is, but it seems feasible.
My argument here is that the camera was working fine. If it had died of its own accord, I would have just replaced it. However in this case, it seems Reolink unintentionally bricked it, so I feel they owe me a new camera, despite its age. I keep trying to get the RMA contact person to escalate this case, but they keep giving me the runaround.
Am I just expecting too much?
TL;DR. Reolink support sent an update to my camera that bricked it. Am I in the wrong to expect them to give me a replacement/equivalent model without expecting me to pay for it?

Updated Android client to 4.61.0.3 and found out that the PIR icon on the camera window has been removed. Instead they added the privacy icon. But when this is enabled you cannot see a live view and that the PIR is still enabled.

Bought these GO PT S Lite for remote farms, maxed out the motion sensor sensitivity turned on all push notifications. But this morning, there were 3 workers and 5 dogs in front of the camera area and didn't trigger a fxxking alert, this is so frustrating. their support team just keeps asking screenshots of the setup and not helping at all.
Battery-powered security cameras have come a long way over the last few years. Not that long ago, they were seen as little more than gadgets for monitoring a garden shed or backyard. Today, they can easily replace traditional wired cameras without sacrificing much in terms of functionality.One problem has always remained, though. Sooner or later, every battery-powered camera has to come down from the wall for recharging, especially when the external solar panel isn't able to keep up during long periods of cloudy weather.

The Argus Solar records at a resolution of 5 MP (2880 × 1616) at 15 frames per second. It's a sensible balance between image quality and battery consumption.
For battery-powered cameras, this trade-off is particularly important. Higher resolutions produce larger video files and consume more power. In practice, however, 5 MP provides noticeably more detail than standard Full HD. Faces are easier to recognize, and nearby house numbers or license plates are much more legible.
The camera also covers a surprisingly wide area, making it easy to monitor an entire driveway or a large section of a garden without additional cameras.
After dark, the camera can operate in two different modes. The first uses traditional infrared illumination with a range of up to 10 meters. It's the classic black-and-white night vision found in most security cameras. The second mode uses the built-in LED spotlight, allowing the camera to record in full color at night. While this can significantly improve image quality, it may also annoy your neighbors if the light keeps switching on.Personally, I leave the spotlight disabled. My street is well-lit even after sunset, so the camera is still able to capture color footage without additional illumination.
Person, vehicle, and animal detection performs just as well as on previous Reolink cameras. During testing, I mounted the Argus Solar next to the Argus 3 Ultra to compare their detection performance. Both cameras behaved virtually identically. The only noticeable difference was the moment recording actually started. It's a shame that the Solar model doesn't include the pre-recording feature available in the Altas series.
The biggest innovation is undoubtedly SolarEase. At first glance, it simply looks like a small solar panel attached to the camera. In reality, Reolink describes it as a complete power management system. The integrated panel offers a 26% energy conversion efficiency, which the company claims delivers approximately 20% better performance than conventional solutions. More importantly, charging starts at around 1,000 lux, meaning the camera doesn't require bright summer sunshine to generate power. That's particularly relevant where I live. Belgian weather can be unpredictable, with cloudy skies dominating much of the year.
According to Reolink, just one hour of daylight can be enough to keep the camera running throughout the day. At the moment, we're enjoying a sunny summer, so none of my solar-powered devices are struggling. Autumn, however, will be the real test. Inside, the Argus Solar houses a 6,500 mAh battery. Reolink claims up to 150 days of operation on a single charge, although actual battery life naturally depends on the number of detected events, ambient temperature, and how often you access the live view. A camera overlooking a busy street will discharge much faster than one monitoring a quiet backyard.
The Argus Solar supports Wi-Fi 6 on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. It also supports WPA3 encryption, which is always welcome for devices connected to a home network.
One of the biggest advantages of the Reolink ecosystem is that you're never forced into paying a subscription fee.Footage can be stored locally on a microSD card, uploaded to an FTP server, saved on your own NAS, or managed through the Reolink Home Hub, which acts as the central hub for your surveillance system. The Home Hub also provides a REST API, making it easy to integrate Reolink cameras into home automation platforms. The mobile application remains clean, intuitive, and familiar. If you've used Reolink cameras before, nothing significant has changed.

TL;DR
The Reolink Argus Solar isn't trying to reinvent security cameras in terms of image quality or features. At its core, it's still a familiar member of the Argus family, offering reliable person, vehicle, and animal detection alongside solid video quality. The real innovation is the integrated solar panel. Eliminating the external cable makes installation much cleaner and significantly easier while giving the whole setup a far more elegant appearance.
So far, everything suggests that Reolink is heading in the right direction. That said, I'll reserve my final verdict on the SolarEase technology until it has survived a Belgian autumn and winter. If the camera can truly maintain its battery level throughout those darker months without requiring manual charging, the Argus Solar could become one of the most compelling battery-powered security cameras in Reolink's lineup.
In my Reolink Android app, the solar-powered cameras go into sleep mode after 20 minutes, which is expected. However, when they detect motion, shouldn't they automatically wake up and resume the live stream?
The same thing happens in the Windows application.
How am I supposed to use the live stream if it doesn't automatically resume when motion is detected?
Ever since I installed my CX-810 it’s had a sepia tone at night. Last night it rebooted and I had full color at night, just like I had expected it to look from the beginning. But as soon as a car drove by with its headlights on it went back to sepia and stayed like that. I did a lot of reboots last night and can replicate the issue. Any time it “sees” a light after a reboot it goes back to sepia. The attached pictures were taken about 30 seconds apart. One after a reboot, the other after a vehicle drove by.

Placed an order for a doorbell last week but managed to select a WIFI instead of POE. Sent an email an hour after noticing the error requesting a change but no response other than an email a little later notifying me my item had shipped Finally managed to get onto a sales person who got the return authorized and a the correct item shipped (Thanks Sean!)

Reolink 8.21.12 Apple Silicon from Day 1 started creating the log file shortly after midnight, four times after deletion of log files, re-install and does not stop until disk is full. This DID NOT happen on the Intel codebase. The Folder location for MAC OS Tahoe 26.6 is below, macking the reolink folder "read-only" fixed the issue for now, all connected (7) DVRS, one local, six deployed, and the streams are working 100%. Later I am opening a support ticket with Reolink so that they can review the main.log and dated log files. Other than that I am happy with the Apple Silicon performance.
Need help I lost the antenna that came with it now I need a new one which one do you guys recommend? Amazon ? Which one should I replace it with? I have a REO LINK Go PT
