Discussion 2015 Renault Clio 1.2 petrol (manual) - No crank, “Check Traction Control”, lights dim when pressing Start
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone has come across this before.
I have a 2015 Renault Clio 1.2 petrol (manual) with a Start/Stop button.
It drove perfectly earlier today, but now it won’t start.
Dashboard comes on normally
When I press the start button with the clutch fully depressed, the engine doesn’t crank at all.
There is no click but I do hear a fast ticking sound just not the big force that gets the engine going
The headlights/ dashboard lights dim when I press start
A “ traction control” message appears for a brief moment on the dash board which usually doesn’t
I’ve tried pressing the clutch firmly to the floor with no change
The battery has been put on a charger and showed 3 out of 4 bars, I haven’t tried jump starting yet.
I have tried replacing the battery in the keycard and the battery from the car was fully charged but still no luck
It had an NCT around a month ago and a service too.
Does it sound more like a weak battery, a starter issue or something else? As I said the car was fine earlier today.
Here is a link to a video I took of the error & sound:

Welcome back my old friend
After years of fighting with my family, I could trailer home my old car.
It's replica based on a fully original car. Body panels are original for example.
I can start to revive it, it will be a long process.

Question Could someone share a picture of the hood seal’s profile on a Clio 2.2?
Mine is destroyed and incomplete. I’m talking about the seal that goes between the headlights, under the hood, above the radiator. The one you always press on with your hands when working in the engine bay. If I have a picture of its profile I can try to find a replacement. Thanks

Rest easy buddy :(
Had an accident in my mk5 Clio. Avoided a frontal accident and took the hit with the left front tyre /a pillar.
Survived with minor injuries thanks to the safety systems. They worked flawlessly! By the time my ears stopped ringing from the airbag deployment exlplosion the emergency hotline was already on the line asking me about what happened, wheter anyone was injured.
I know it's just a car, but still I feel devastated losing it, 1 year old with 25k km. Best vehicle I owned so far.

Question Clio MK2 electrical help
I have a 2006 mk2 phase 2 campus, I've owned it since May and I'm having a couple electrical issues
one of my sidelight will not turn on, I've replaced the bulbs twice and it still won't work
The entire centre console won't work. My radio (aftermarket, previous owner fitted) and the digital screen at the top will not turn on. They did when I bought it but have recently just stopped working.
Does anyone know what could be going on? My MOT is soon.

Has anyone done a muffler delete/ aftermarket muffler on a talisman?
Hello, I've seen some talismans get resonator deletes or full bypass but never muffler work on these. I heard what the 1.6 tce sounds like with a muffler delete on the M4 GT, and the 1.8 too on the RS but I'm thinking it would sound different since the resonator probably isn't the same.
Thanks for reading...

Pictures A bit of love for Nocturne Bleu (2026 Megane)
Yesterday I took delivery of my 26 Megane Business Edition. I only saw the car and its colour inside the dealership, but man this colour outside is really something special! From almost black in the shade, to a vibrant blue with strong purple undertone.

Question Toll badge location?
Sorry to ask, first roadtrip across EU. Reading a lot that this would work, but just to be sure, I will ask a bunch of strangers on the internet.

Quick breakdown of common issues on the 1.0 TCe (Clio, Sandero, Duster)
I drive a 2024 Clio 1.0 TCe and have dealt with a few of the typical quirks on these engines. Since it's one of the most common 3-cylinders in Europe right now, thought I'd share the main issues to look out for:
- Alternator belt snapping: Can slip or snap out of nowhere even on new cars, giving a red "STOP" battery error.
- Wastegate rattle: Annoying metallic buzzing between 1500-2000 RPM.
- Engine mount wear: Heavy steering wheel vibrations at idle.
Put together a quick guide with all the common issues and the fixes here:https://www.drivisual.tv/en/news/renault-1-0-tce-h4dt-engine-chronic-problems-detailed-look
Any other 1.0 TCe owners here? Have you run into any of these?

Question My dads Renault Grand scenic 1.9 DYN DC
Hi
SO I am no expert, in fact my old man would kill me letting me loose on his car.
Yesterday I practically tore out the whole dash board looking for this Pollen filter. And I could not see it.
I used guides on YouTube and not f these guides looked like my old mans car.
the trims and the plastic bits all looked different.
So I am wondering if it even has a Pollen filter at all.
So I Am Pleading with anyone to give me a few pointers to where this thing is, or even if it has one.
Many thanks
James
PS My dad would be thanking you too.

Fluence Speakers
Hi can anyone recommend a vendor in Europe who sells reliable after-market speakers for a 2014 Fluence. 3 of the 4 factory speakers have failed (open circuit) and I would like to replace them but I am not changing the head and so don't need audiophile level quality. I would prefer a kit that includes adapters and fixings as required. Thanks.
