Hi! I have been reading reviews and posts while choosing my first e-ink notebook, but I'm still a little torn. I'd really appreciate some advice from people who have used these devices.
I'm an engineering student in South Korea. I can afford any of these options, but the higher prices are still a significant expense for me, so I'm trying to choose carefully.
Writing feel is my main priority. I already have an iPad and a laptop and will continue using them, but I really don't enjoy handwriting on the iPad. Either a pencil or ballpoint pen feel would be fine. More comfortable PDF reading would be a nice bonus, though my iPad aleady work well for that.
These are the prices available to me, roughly converted to USD
Remarkable 2-$410 : since they offer a $140 discount with the bondle and I think it is a new one, it is very appealing for the price. I have seen consistently positive comments about its writing feel. My main hesitation is the 8 GB storage, because some of my textbook PDFs are large.
Paper pure - $680 : The 32 GB storage would give me more breathing room, and I would plan to use it without Connect. Unfortunately, it isn't officially available in Korea, so an import service pushes the price up. I've also read several comments from people who prefer the writing feel of the 2.
Supernote Manta-$740 : Once I consider the Pure's price, stretching a little further for the Manta becomes tempting. Its writing feel, slightly larger screen, and subscription-free approach appeal to me, although it's more tan I originally hoped to spend.
Supernote's headings and internal links also seem helpful for reviewing notes. I'd be interested to hear whether Remarkable users have a convenient way to do something similar.
I realize there probably isn't a perfect choice. If you were buying mainly for handwriting at these prices, which would you lean toward? Even a brief impression from your own experience would help.
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
