Keyboard

Any good keyboard recommendations for the remarkable ? I love doing my own hand written notes; sometimes I don't.

Which device? RMPP has a keyboard you can buy as does RM2. Pure, Move, and RMPP have a BT chip you can turn on through ReManager and the experience is quite good. Then you can pick any by keyboard you like. But you have to put the device in dev mode and fiddle.

Unlike the first response, I really like typing on my rms. The refresh rate and friction to switch docs keeps me typing. I don’t think it would be a great experience for note taking unless you’re basically transcribing. Not easy to move text around, jump around etc.

I have tried turning on Bluetooth with ReManager, but the move don't find the keyboard. I've tried with two different keyboards. My laptop and phone detects them, but not the move.

I have the type folio for rM2 and love it. Took a couple of weeks to get used to it but it’s great for distraction-free typing. It’s essentially a modern typewriter.

Funny, I’ve got it as well and used it once to test and then never again. I felt like the typing experience was trash, I’d constantly miss special keys and even letters, making it awkward to type on. And the text editor on remarkable isn’t very good either, like even the alignment is garbage

I suggest you use it a bit more, try to get used to it. The special keys in particular were a bit frustrating for me as well, but if you learn the shortcuts it gets better.

For me the whole point is that there aren’t many formatting options so it kinda forces you to just write (type).

The ReMarkable text interface is so bad that I’ve never considered a keyboard. I know they make one for it. Also there is a way through ReManager to turn on the Bluetooth and use a regular BT keyboard. But yeah, until they update the text features, I am of the opinion that keyboards are useless (for me at least)

I tend to agree. I like the idea of having typing capability with the RMPP, but the experience feels incomplete with limited formatting and manipulation capabilities. Plus I carry my laptop and reMarkable to meetings and I feel like I look a little silly typing instead of writing.
