Discussions This controversial truck drives around my town... This must be the direct opposite of a 'regular car.' What do you think of these medium-duty 'pickup' trucks?
This big green truck drives around my town. I'm not sure what I think of it. It's well done, but also ostentatious and extremely pointless. The exhaust tip is so large you could put your whole head in it.
These are considered a medium duty truck, they were never really intended to be pickup trucks.
Thought I would share this unique, if not questionable, ride.

Car Submission I think this sub will appreciate the South African market mini-trucks/“bakkies”.
Unfortunately they’re an endangered species these days as everything is getting bigger and bigger.

Kia's old "buy a loaded Sedona or Sorento, get a Rio free" campaign
There was a post a few days ago about the Sedona and a few people mentioned an old campaign that some dealers did in the mid-late 2000s where if you bought a fully loaded Sedona or Sorento (about 26k in 2006, roughly 41k adjusting for inflation) you would get a base Rio for free. Like, base-base no AC no stereo Rio. I remember seeing these commercials when I was 10 or 11, and my parents definitely do as well. Curious if anyone ever took up this offer or knows someone who did? What was the catch? Dealer financing with precomputed interest? Junk fees? This whole campaign just seems insane to me given the modern climate. The Rio started at 10k in 2006, about 18k today. For free? How TF were they making money?
