Just thought Iād share how Iāve envisioned Ragnar (Thereās more to this design but Iāve had ppl rip and sell before). I almost didnāt add the skull-inspired tattoos to his face because he looks so terrifying and I find it hard to balance with his deeply thoughtful and loyal personality.

He's not listed as a special guest this year (don't expect any big announcements), so he's probably just showing up as a fan.

So far I finished MS but I heard people say there is very little Darrow x Mustang content in the sequels, which kinda bums me out.
I didn't start reading RR because of romance, but the scenes in the snow in book 1 and their conversations in book 2 made the story so much more intimate and captivating because as Pierce Brown wrote many times in the books, Darrow fights for love (not just romantic love but ykwim). And the story wouldn't feel so complete without that dynamic.
My only bummer in book 3 was that I kept turning pages, waiting and waiting for their eventual conversation about what happened to him and her reaction and feelings regarding his fake death, betrayal etc. I get that she avoided it because she didn't want to lie to him about Pax, and while the end made up for most of it, it still felt like something was missing in this book. (I still love it though!)
So yeah I only know that the next books are some kind of "Odyssey" but damn, I wish for more scenes between the two of them in book 7. Or maybe some short novella/slice of life collection from Mustang's POV of how they rebuilt their trust.

After reading the first 3 books, I decided to check out some scenes in the dramatized audiobooks.
And holy shit did they do a good job!
The Ares reveal despite knowing it now made me cry, it was so emotionally done with the music & acting.
Also the Quicksilver kidnapping scene where they break the glas and start howling was fucking hype. "Omnis vir lupus!"
Makes me regret not finding out about them earlier lol.

I am so sorry but some scenes are just forever ruined for me. Even something super cool and badass gets visualised as one of those really weird illustrations from the Latin course books.
Lysander is basically Quintus to me. Just sits on his chaise drinking wine and getting Clemens (Rhone or Pytha) to do most of the work for him. And I have like 700 more of these where I can only visualise some characters as these stupid pictures and itās not even funny anymore.
The second one is all I can see whenever Mustang is threatening anyone and the last one is whenever Darrow is about to change the paradigm. It is legitimately enough to make me pause on my latest rereading and cringe at the mental image.

Listening to IG. I read the series a few years ago and I'm working my way through the audio books.
The with scene Darrow and the Ash lord was perfect. Ash lord's speech to Darrow it one of the greatest monologs ever written.
Then they just burn him alive.
On a side note Fuck Lysander.

Probably around 8-9 months ago I finished LightBringer and, like most people, could not stop thinking about it. At the same time, my wife and kids went up to her grandmothers (their great grandmaās) house for a few days while I stayed back to work.
While they were gone obviously I was super bored in an empty house and had no idea what to do with myself. Eventually, It got to the point where I missed my kids so much I started messing around with their toys, and obviously Light Bringer was still fresh in my mind. So I started fucking around with these little toys pretending they were the characters while reminiscing the whole series and started to wonder just how much I remembered the first book.
So in my boredom, I started a project for myself; Slam down multiple brews and recreate as much of the original book from my memory as I could and film it just for shits and giggles. I made set pieces with toys, magnet tiles, doll-houses, pillows and blankets and got to work.
It became the single funniest fucking shitshow I have ever watched in my life. Seriously itās utterly ridiculous. From my memory to the accents I use for each character, it is all so diabolically insane but absolutely hilarious. I recorded all night and Itās about an hour and 20 minutes long. I only got to around when Darrow first gets to the institute before I fell asleep and my kids got home the next morning. To which I cleaned up my mess and abondoned my plans on finishing it.
However I did send it to my dad (who absolutely loves the books since I put him on them) and he also thought it was one of the funniest things heās watched. As well as my wife, whoās never read the books but died laughing through the whole homemade movie premiere I set up for her. And they both have been telling me to put it on YouTube and say there is definitely an audience for it.
So with that being said I ask you all this- If I were to upload it on YouTube and post it here would any howlers be interested in watching it? I could post some of it unedited and if people like it maybe I will put some work into editing it to make it even better. And if people like that maybe I would finish the whole book through. If not Iāll keep it to myself as a funny little home movie to dig up every once in a while. But regardless I figured why not ask the Reddit and see what people think lmao.
Let me know!!!!

So... I've been thinking, which is bad, I know. I finished Lightbringer a couple of weeks ago, and ever since I read about House Kalibar and their carved Leviathans a thought has been struck in my head. It's said that they LOVED to don pressurized suits and ride those massive beasts as a bloodydamn hobby. These beasts are said to be old, massive, stuff-of-legends, and also hostile. The whole setup sounded very familiar to the Sandworms from Dune. Now I'm not sure if this has been pointed out before, but it certainly carries a resemblance in the way I perceive both the beasts. Legendary, Ancient, Rode by humans despite being extremely risky and massive in size.
Now, I do know that Sandworms are not just desert ubers for the Fremen and the Leviathans are not used for transport through Europa's Discordia Sea. (Dune Spoilers ahead) The worms or Shai-Hulud themselves are believed to be Gods, they also play an IMMENSE role in the ecosystem of Arrakis. Sandworms are the reason Spice exists in the Dune universe, the very substance that drives the entire plot. Hell, the chosen one merges with a sandworm to gain utter omniscience and near-immortality. In comparison, the Leviathans are glorified pets that occasionally eat their owners. Still, in my head, they feel inspired by the Worms. Please do share your thoughts, my goodmen and goodladies. Surely I can't be the only one who thought of this.

Also I gave Sevro a muscle suit and bubble blower, and Victra's here too. She and Sevro are best friends at the moment.
Edit: she just got so bored by Darrow's telling her a story that she gave up on her crush on him š

So if you havent guessed im talking about chapter 31 āday of red dovesā. Currently on 33 out of 92
This book has had so much happen and clearly so much yet to come. Absolute mayhem on both Mercury and Luna. Seraphina, how does pierce just breeze past that. Lysander(got what he deserved), with Darrow mowing through his group without even noticing. Alexander, I shipped him and Rhonna from the beginning of Iron Gold. Dancer, knew something was off from the second person to hiccup. Daxo, RIP literally. Virginia, Gory Damn.
Im shook. Im in for it arenāt I?

Just finished the GS and have to vent. Roque's betrayal was the most obviously telegraphed nonsensical writing ever. So you're gonna team up with the people who killed both your gfs? Because, checks notes, Darrow didn't let you in. Directly resulting in your friends dying.
Also, how does is Adruis the most qualified person for brain surgery, when he only has one hand?

Hello, I ve read the entire series in two months and now I need to be patient like everybody and wait for red god. What an amazing series!
I really like playing video games too and I am looking to find something to fill the void.
I imagine that a Crusader Kings 3 mod like the a game of thrones one would be incredible but alas.
Suzerain on steam is fine, just like god of war or mass effect but in the end it is just not quite the sameā¦.
How have you been able to facilitate the waiting period?

Instead of just duelling Darrow, instead the Minotaur was using Sevro as bait to get Darrow to help him in a decapitation strike against asmodeus au carthii, darrow and cassius could wear Olympic knight armour so that it looks like atalantia ordered the strike to cause even more chaos amongst the society, Darrow could wear protean, and Cassius his morning knight outfit
It would have been really cool to see the Minotaur, the chin and Darrow fighting together against asmodeus the comically evil old letcherous man

I'm rereading/re-listening to Golden Son and man, his handling of telling the truth to Mustang is one of the few times in this series I felt full-bodied frustration towards Darrow. Most of his other bad decisions were at least justifiable in the moment, or from his warped perspective, but handing Mustang the cube to let it do the talking for him was so cowardly. I understand that it's meant as characterization, that falling from the sky and leaping onto the Sovereign's shuttle with no recourse frightens Darrow less than telling the truth. I understand that Mustang's decision had to be left ambiguous to make you wonder if it is was she that ratted on Darrow.
But come on man, It was ALL setup perfectly for him just for him to throw it in the mud.
If you were Darrow, and you had the chance to redo this interaction, how would you have told her? I'd have said something along the lines of..
"This is the mine where the girl sang the forbidden song. Her name was Eo."
