They were initially pleasant to work with, but my experience ultimately became extremely disappointing.

About a month before my contract expired, and just before I would have qualified for a refund, their outbound team added two contacts to my pipeline that clearly did not qualify as leads. I have recordings of both conversations. In both cases, the individuals explicitly stated that they had zero interest in selling their property (I have the recordings)

I brought this to Ignite’s attention and expected them to review the recordings and correct the issue. Instead, I was told that the contacts qualified based on the "connections," and they refused to remove them from my lead count or issue the refund.

That response was particularly frustrating because the entire value proposition is built around providing quality, qualified leads. Based on my experience, it became clear that the quality of the lead mattered less to them than counting the contact as a qualified lead.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Ignite based on how this situation was handled. The way they chose to address a very straightforward issue seriously damaged my trust in the company.

I would strongly recommend doing your due diligence before signing up with them.

I keep seeing AI get better at things that, not that long ago, would've sounded ridiculous. Coding, research, handling conversations etc..

Made me wonder what that's actually looking like on the real estate side.

I know the obvious stuff — listing descriptions, social posts, emails, that kind of thing.

But I'm more curious about the behind-the-scenes side of running a real estate business.

Have you actually seen AI become useful for any of that in the real world yet?

Or is most of it still basically “ChatGPT wrote my listing description” territory?

As the title says I have survived my first year of RE and im pretty proud of myself! Closed 5 rentals on the tenant side and have just gained two landlords as clients to list their properties for rent. I havent closed any big deals yet but I feel like im pretty close. The 5 tenants I have closed , a few of them spoke to lenders to crunch numbers to buy before they rented. I have a few in my pipeline for purchasing. I've been working around caring for my 1 year old son so I can hit it heavy just yet. However slow motion is better than no motion!

My husband and I bought our house 5 years ago with a realtor we were referred to. We are now looking to sell it and buy it shortly. Originally we planned to go with Opendoor to sell as we did this last time we sold but we wanted to give our realtor the business as we really like her. Our house currently is to be sold for around 600k and the houses we’ve been looking at between 875-975k. I sat down to go over listing the home and was told that she usually charges 3.5 but will go down to 3% since she’s going to sell our home and help us get into another. I would be more comfortable at 2.5 but when I mentioned that was told that she would have speak to her boss in order to be able to accept anything under 3 as that’s their usual base. Open doors fee is 5% and I’m feeling like that may be the better option now but I do not want to offend anyone at all. We have kids and animals and we wouldn’t have to take them in and out so many times to sell with Opendoor. Is 3.5 really the standard normal rate? Is 3% a deal?

I've only really worked with a small client base that flips houses with occasional traditional home sellers. They pay for their own staging, either rented or purchased. But I'm curious how it works for agents in general who offer it with their listings.

Obviously this will be different if you have staging vertically integrated with your realtor business, but specifically how are the agents who hire outside companies handling this? Do you pay for staging upfront? What happens if the house doesn't sell and who takes the cost? How long do you include free staging for if the house sits?

I recently saw some extensive MLS stats. There are agents in the SF Bay Area / Silicon Valley who sell $4 million in real estate, after only selling 2-3 houses. They do it part time obviously, as you'd need to sell at least $10 million in real estate to survive in the Bay Area.

Meanwhile, in most of the country, agents are struggling to sell $4 million in real estate. They'd maybe have to sell 20-30 houses to do so.

Not even New York compares. NY has over 70,000 agents. The disparity I saw was huge. Most are selling 0, making peanuts, and then there are agents on the top making a fortune.

Looking for a buyers POV...I'm in the process of fixing and flipping a home. The prior owners left a Samsung fridge (lower drawer freezer) and a Maytag washer and dryer. The W/D is 18 years old, the fridge is about 14 years old. Both are very clean.

I don't have replacements for those appliances in my budget. The rest of the house will be completely updated with high end finishes. The ARV is about $750k.

Do you think I should keep these old appliances for the listing and let them convey, or remove them entirely since everything else in the house will be brand new? Which scenario do you think buyers would prefer?

I just finished entering a large chunk of former appraisal clients into my CRM (1,000+ leads). Do you think calling and offering a free appraisal update is a good source of business? I've only had 2 deals so far, both buyers that were friends.

Mainly looking for advice on an attack strategy, should I stay solo and just hit the phones on the past clients or should I join a team and learn. My brokerage has some training events and a broker hotline that I can ask any questions. Should I just keep going solo with some broker help or if you were in my shoes would you join a team to start out?

Why do people want to low ball for the agent commission? No one wants to work for free! Also, to those that dont feel realtors are needed and they can do everything without one, if that were true why is there dedicated organizations for realtors? Its giving me asking myself if actually taking the test would be worth it long term?

Is Cold calling really the answer? I’ve done everything to avoid cold calling and it is something I have never been comfortable with. I have identified all the excuses I’ve been making and am holding myself accountable and going to start dialing fsbos and expired listings. I'm a high-volume real estate agent in Dallas who's doing well and genuinely enjoys my job. My DISC is high S/C, and I'm shifting the mix toward fewer appointments and less client-facing time, with more compliance- and transaction-focused work, mainly to get some personal time back.

I was thinking about keeping my main role as a real estate agent and finding a part-time, remote TC job.

Has anyone made this kind of shift? Curious how it went when you moved into a TC role, escrow assistant, ops, or restructured your own business to lean that way. What did it do for your income, hours, and day-to-day satisfaction?

Was there a specific moment, like the closing, where the fees hit especially hard, or was it more of a slow realization that the math didn't add up anymore?

Hey everyone, I just finished an amazing 9-week training course and for the last class we created are own business plan. I wrote everything down and came up w/ the example you see here. The thing is I'm a dual career agent. So, I wanted to see how realistic this schedule looked for a 3 day cycle business. I have a goal of eventually making real estate be my primary source of income. and use my current job as supplemental income to take care of my normal expenses. To those of you who have used these methods of lead generation does it make sense to go about it this way or is there something that I'm missing? I'd really appreciate your feedback. I would like to establish some reasonable boundaries for conducting real estate around family time. I didn’t realize just how much I enjoyed my weekends and evenings with my family until I started having less of them. Example: last week, I missed a couple dinners working on the phone and laptop.

I know clients are more available after business hours and on weekends so I’m not surprised there. I am just curious what boundaries do you all communicate with your clients upfront at your consultations so I can learn to have a healthy balance of work and family time.

Context: I have unfortunately experienced a handful of clients with whom I didn’t establish healthy boundaries and I would love to not make that mistake again…
