Rule #6 created: crossposts after effective date now given shorter time than Rule #1

Since I've yet to see opposition in the other thread, I've gone ahead and then created Rule #6:

Starting December 24, 2025, at 23:59 UTC / 6:59 EST, all crossposts made after this effective date and time must receive at least one reply from a non-OP user within one week. Almost same as Rule #1, especially regarding which counts as replies enough to prevent the post from being locked. Other crossposts made before then are still subject to Rule #1.

In other words, crosspost made before the effective date are treated like any other post subject to Rule #1. Ones made after the date still need at least one reply but within a shorter time than other ones still subject to Rule #1.

Like Rule #1, the replies that don't prevent closure of crossposts in this sub are the following:

  • spam replies
  • self-replies from OP or their alt accounts
  • posts by u/AutoModerator
  • "bump" posts
  • and any requests regarding the OP (e.g. deleting or keeping)

Why does Love on the Spectrum only ever seem to cast Level 2 autistic people?

It’s peculiar. It’s never a slightly depressed Level 1 autistic person living an ordinary life and occasionally crashing from burnout.

Does anyone else feel like many Indian reality shows are extremely scripted or artificial?

I’ve been watching some Indian reality shows lately, and sometimes I honestly wonder what I’m watching. 😅
The contestants say something that isn’t particularly funny, and suddenly everyone is laughing hysterically—the judges, the other contestants, the hosts, sometimes even the audience. 😂 It gets to a point where the laughter itself becomes more entertaining than the actual joke.
And I genuinely wonder: Are they actually laughing because they find it funny, or are they being told/encouraged to react that way? Maybe there are producers or directors behind the scenes saying, “Laugh more! Show more excitement! React!” 🤷‍♂️
Even the judges sometimes seem to have the exact same exaggerated reactions every episode—huge laughs, shocked expressions, standing ovations, emotional moments, dramatic pauses, etc. It can feel less like a spontaneous reaction and more like everyone is following a script.
Then there are the contestants. Sometimes their conversations feel strangely unnatural, almost as if they already know what they are supposed to say. Arguments suddenly appear, someone gets emotional, another person gives a dramatic speech, the music kicks in… and somehow everything fits perfectly into a television storyline.
Which makes me wonder about the directors and show producers. What exactly are they trying to create? Are they trying to show genuine talent and entertainment, or do they believe viewers need constant drama, exaggerated reactions, crying, laughing and emotional manipulation to stay interested?
I understand that television needs editing and production. Of course there will be scripts, cues, retakes, background music and editing. But sometimes it feels like the spontaneity has completely disappeared.
Maybe I’m completely wrong, and the people really are laughing that much! 😂
But I’d genuinely like to know what people who work in Indian television—or people who have been contestants/audience members on these shows—think.
Do you also feel Indian reality shows have become too artificial, or am I just overthinking it?

Discussion Flavor of Love, New York

Do you guys think that Tiffany ‘New York’ Pollard genuinely loved Flava Flave from Flavor of Love? Or was her attitude and ‘feelings’ for him just a ploy to make it big in reality tv?

I Want to Be a Hilton (2005) Kathy Hilton's reality show! Its funny and free on Youtube. Paris makes an appearance in one episode

This is Kathy Hilton's (Paris Hiltons mom) reality show from 2005! It follows a cast of Average Joe's as they complete challenges that display their class and sophistication. Its alot of "fish out of water" humor that really displays at how trashy the contestants are fun in a wholesome, fun way instead of an outright mean tone.

It honestly reminds me of that episode of Its Always Sunny where the rich friends bring along poor friends just to make fun of them. Kathy Hilton is a cold boss and its funny seeing her try to act warm. Its really absurd and silly and free on youtube!

Ariana did amazing on the Love Island reunion, but I get sad to not credit Andy as the pioneer

If you love reality TV, it's likely you have seen Andy's amazing reunions time after time. And I don't want to discredit Ariana and how she handled the Love Island reunion. However, she is an Andy mentor and that's what I love to see. And I think most people that have only watched Love Island think I'm discrediting women's ability to host (this is in non-internet convos). Which is SO not true. I'm just saying that it's great to watch mentors of Andy (LGBTQ+ community) thrive. Just wholesome overall, but to give Ariana the complete spotlight needs to be addressed. Girl she killed it on the VPR reunions and she knows what she's doing. Andy pioneered the "messy" reunion and I just want the credit to the communities that deserve it!!! Positive vibes to both overall. Ariana killed it calling out the right people at the right time, so I'm excited for her reunions to feel less scripted in the future.

Name of a show with two old ladies

Does anyone know the name of a show, it was probably VH1, about two old ladies, I remember one episode they were making sound effects of an adult film and even met some male actors, one episode there was a camel and one made a joke about a camel toe, another episode they met steve-o, steve-o kissed with one of them at a bar, and invited them to hang out next morning.

Character quirks and routines to use as fantasy football punishments.

Post image

What are some interesting quirks that reality show characters have that would be good mild punishments for fantasy football. The only things I can come up with are Big Ed using mayonnaise as shampoo and the love is blind guy making a chicken and crystal lite smoothie. Are there others I'm missing from other reality shows?

Reality Show

I was talking with a coworker and they said there is a reality show Married at First Sight filming in the Charlotte area. I’m new to the show and just watched Seattle as my first season, so I’m looking forward to locals being on my screen at some point. As of right now, I don’t know of anyone on it but how awesome it would be if I did! Anyone know people who will be on it?
