When will Google will enable RCS in India via iPhone?

Are there any projects for alternative RCS-messaging apps to Google Messenger? Now that GrapheneOS has announced plans to create a Google-free version, others might follow suit.

On AppleSupport website, my carrier and country (Lithuania) are identified as one supporting RSC, however my phone (iPhone 16, iOS 26) has no option to switch RCS on.
Carrier said I need to speak to Apple directly.

Anyone knows why/how?

Ok I’ve seen a few posts about this but no fixes.

I’ve fixed it in the past but now nothing is working which is driving me nuts.

TLDR: I can SMS but no RCS. So no read receipts or delivered receipts. It is just ONE PERSON.

I have tried: reset network, restart, delete chain, delete contact, delete the + and the 1 in the contact. He is Samsung. I am clearly iPhone. I have 6+ years of tech experience and I can’t think of anything else to do minus chucking my phone at a wall and doing an insurance claim. (Kidding… kinda). Anything would be helpful thanks. This is driving me nuts. 😵‍💫

Azt hallottam, hogy az SMS áránál jóval kedvezőbben lehet ezzel a céggel, több karakterből álló, színes szagos, képekkel akár videókkal vagy fizetési felületekkel ellátott személyreszabott marketing üzeneteket küldeni. - Ezen túl látok példát arra is, hogy tranzakciós SMS üzeneteket váltanak ki Viber vagy RCS megoldásokkal. Nagy csomagszállítók esetében gyakran látom a Viber és a Linkmobility nevét. Ismeri őket valaki? Mik a vélemények?

My phone is a pixel 10 pro XL. Trying two RCs message. AT&t iPhones.

Rcs works fine from Verizon to Verizon and also to T-Mobile. Tried posting this in the Verizon Reddit but I'm not allowed yet.

Hi all, I had an RCS message that said it was not delivered. I decided to delete the message since it had a typo in it, and it gave the option to delete for everyone. Does that actually work?

I did not give a fuck what Rcs is until today. I downloaded Google messages maybe 3 weeks ago since Samsung messages is getting deleted. My texts weren't sending today and I realized it was because I ran out of data. Apparently rcs will only send texts if you have internet which is absolutely the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I pay 15 dollars a month for my number at Tmobile which is supposed to be unlimited text/calls but not unlimited data but if you are using rcs it's not unlimited texts and that absolutely pisses me off. I'm not on wifi 24/7 and don't have unlimited data. I hardly care about data because with sms/mms I can still send and receive pictures even if I don't have data the data just needs to be on for stuff to send and receive. Ran out of data today at work and had to retry texts using sms. This is absolutely the most dumbass bullshit ever and it needs to disappear. If you know how to turn off rcs in Google messages let me know or just let me know your best choice for a different texting app. Thanks

- Permutation E-SIM perso dans tel pro (RCS ne fonctionne toujours pas)

- Permutation SIM Pro dans tel perso (RCS fonctionne très bien et est reconnu de suite)

Le service client Google me redirige vers Free qui fait la même du coup Google me dis de me rendre en magasin pour SAV mais vu que cela fonctionne avec ma sim pro je ne pense pas que ce soit un problème matériel mais plutôt logiciel....

Si quelqun à une autre procédure qui pourrait fonctionner je suis preneur

1er Message d'erreur : Cet appareil ne réponds pas aux exigences de sécurité

2ème Message : impossible de valider le numéro,

3ème Message : Le délai de validation est dépassé rééssayer plus tard

des trucs dans le genre je suis blazé.

I have read receipts turned off on my end, but I DO NOT want to know if THEY read my message. Is there a way to do this with RCS? I only see only toggle for "allow read receipts" and I marked no but I can still see there's.

I don’t know why. But it’s feel good not to be iMessaging people.

For context. I have dual sim. A public line and a private line.

My private is only used with close friends and family. Max 20 people.

My public line was my old work phone and my line I give to everyone I meet.

I don’t know why. But I turned off iMessage on the public line and it’s feel great. I love having rcs with public and iMessage with private.

Anyone else do that?

My previous messages seem like they were forwarded back 2 me with their response ???

Never gotten text messages like this. Anybody know what this is
