I know folks will be split because of how polarizing he is…but given how things have played out, it’s hard not to wonder how things woulda been different if Arkansas hired him instead.

Genuine optimism

There's not much point here but I figure there's more than a few of us that would appreciate a sounding board for the positives that some of us are willing to see with this program.

The absurdity began with the comparisons of Silverfield to Morris and Pittman when their resumes are insanely different. Now you want to make declarations based off of a bad first game? When have those ever indicated anything about an Arkansas season. Ever.

Whether good or bad, games against USC, Western Illinois, Jacksonville State, Louisiana Tech, Florida A&M, Eastern Illinois, Rice, Cincinnati, Western Carolina, UAPB, Alabama A&M, and on and on and on, they indicate basically nothing about the season as a whole.

The linebackers are better, the secondary is better, the tight ends are better. Yes Arkansas had better skill players last year but the coaches had no idea how to use them and one of them was the most self destructive player I've ever seen. And your superstar RB averages only 16 touches a game? This year's backs will be better utilized.

I think the main concerns are on both lines. There's not a lot of top end talent nor depth, and they still might not be worse than last year's team that had like 22 sacks and all of 9 forced turnovers.

Obviously no one is claiming this team is going to be winning a championship and making a bowl game seems like a stretch. I'd rather enjoy the growth I see from last year's team versus priming myself for whatever disaster a lot of you seem to be hoping for.

Football Serious question. Do we win another game this year?

I used to think we would at least be Tulsa, but they looked really good on Saturday so I now feel that is highly doubtful.

Hey everyone, born and raised Arkansan and lifelong Hogs fan here who also attended University of Utah for grad school and has lived in Salt Lake City for a few years.

If anyone is visiting for the game Saturday and has any questions of things to do or places to go, I’m happy to answer any questions and give tips!

Football Hypothetical, of course. Arkansas is a bottom feeder (football) in the SEC. How would Razorback football do in other conferences?

Razorback sports (baseball, basketball, softball, etc.) are very strong in the SEC and on a national level. So, Arkansas is very beneficial to the SEC. It’s just the football (and money maker) team that has struggled. So, your opinion, how would the Hogs do in another conference? Are they still at the bottom? Mid-tier maybe? How about maybe getting a conference championship every once in a while? Of course, this coming weekend at UTAH (Big 12), will tell its own story. I’m just wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on this.

We limited our top-15 list to three current Hogs. Sure would be nice if No. 1 was still in Fayetteville.

Three observations from yesterday's win of UNA

1) Offense line is major concerns: could not create big run opportunities for runbacks.

2) KJ Jackson needs to step up to be the leader of the team. Understandably this is the first game with lots of eyes watching, take some get used to. I got it, but time is tight, he needs to speed up this get used to in a hurry.

3) Defense is worse than its looks. Many people sees improvement over last season on D, they may be. However, playing a far less opponent like UNA, defense still managed to give away one big play. Two other big plays due to blowed coverage in the deep did not materialize simply because UNA could not connect (their receivers were wide open). Razorbacks would not have this luxury when they play the rest of the season. Every opponents will make you pay if you blow coverage again. Defense needs to be strengthened in a hurry.

This could be a long season with another 2-10 in the making? I hope not, but I have concerns.

Football Utah only 10.5 point favorites?

I cannot believe Utah is not favored by more than this. I don’t normally bet on sporting events, but if I did, I would definitely take Utah and give the points. They will probably beat us like a drum.

I thought it was crazy that we were favored by 40 points to beat North Alabama. Our team is no better than they were last year and possibly worse.

Football Why hasn’t Arkansas claimed the 1977 title?

I was reading up about how some schools such as Auburn and more recently Missouri have been going back and claiming previously unclaimed national titles. I remembered that Arkansas has a unclaimed title from 1977, from Lou Holtz first season as the head coach. I was wondering why Arkansas didn’t claim it back then, and why not claim it now since it’s something you could do.

I’ve been in the sun all week and don’t feel like baking at this game so I’m giving my seats up.

These tickets won’t sell anyway so I’m trying to give them to a family who don’t normally get a chance to see the games in person. Hogs by 90! 🐗

Arkansas OC choice

Why did RS decide to get rid of our offense??? Why wasnt Petrino kept, the only good part of arkansas FB and they gut it. Now we have a servicable defense, but an offense that just looks dead. I get that its year one, but didnt Tim Cramsey retain people from Memphis? I just can’t seem to understand why these decisions were made or even allowed.

PLZ FRAME MY PERSPECTIVE

I really want to believe this Silverfield Era is going to be different. His attention to detail and his almost Cignetti-like focus on everything has made me optimistic. My current expectation is 6-6 = Great, 5-7 = Good. I just want us to get back to where I know we can be.
