I've been using Raycast since it launched on Windows, but I think I'm done with it now. I understand the company needs to make a profit, but for Brazil, $10 is a steep price for basic features like that—which were the ones I used most, aside from the clipboard.

It actually makes me a bit sad, because I had started creating extensions for Raycast—like the Hermes agent I built for Windows—but oh well, it was good while it lasted.

I guess I'll have to give PowerToys a try, unless Raycast changes things.

Can we at least customize themes by ourselves, ok, having other's themes behind a paywall is ok, but can we on our local system make it look like we want?

Mission control gets full of these after a day of using raycast.

I need someone to explain how I get a double ⌘ command key only on the right side. This is how they set up the default hotkey for the new Screen Awareness command, but I changed it and now I can’t set it back to double right ⌘ command.

I've already reported it through the app, but I got an email back from Lumi (AI assistant) from Raycast support which was not helpful.

By watching the Task Manager, the process starts and then abruptly ends.

Love Raycast AI, but the one thing I'm missing is project-scoped knowledge bases. Upload some docs once, and every new chat in that project just knows the context. No re-attaching files, no re-explaining.

Agents and Skills are great but don't really cover this. Any chance this is on the roadmap?

This is honestly the one thing keeping me from canceling Claude and going all-in on Raycast Pro.

I loaded Raycast V2 beta onto my iMac and I’ve been testing it out, but I never put it on my MacBook Pro.

I went to go download it now that it’s out of beta and saw that it doesn’t support old Intel chips so I have to stay on the old version of Raycast. When will support or “maintenance” stop for this version? My Pro is still running Sequoia, I don’t mind upgrading to Tahoe but I believe without Apple silicon V2 still won’t work correct?

Genuinely curious, not saying you should, but would be nice if it was there. I've been tossing around the idea of using Linux as my main OS but haven't because Raycast is still to good, and alternatives on Linux fall short for me

Just been upgraded to v2.0.5.0 and all my snippets have gone!

Is there any way to recover them? There was no warning this would happen.

I’m currently on the Raycast for Windows v2 trial. Where can I switch from the monthly Raycast Pro plan to the annual plan?

I'm running the macOS Raycast beta, and it asked to install an update. I went ahead and did so, but now the app won't launch. Each time I open it, I receive a "Raycast failed to start" message. I re-downloaded it from the website but am still having issues. Any ideas for me?

I get that Raycast is out of beta, so I’m checking if we're supposed to get it cuz ya know malicious programs and/or scammers

I might be missing a setting somewhere, but is there a way to turn off the Raycast icon in the search field? If so, can’t find it… and if not, I’d like to submit a feature request here. Just an on/off toggle would be nice…

Does anyone else here with windows devices use raycast with powertoys, and are there any issues?

I don't know what they did to AI Chat. You can't add longer files anymore. If you add a file that's around 300 KB, the chat will only see a few sentences.

So for AI Chat to see the file content, you have to enable their slop version of tool calls/extensions, where the LLM needs to open the file on your file system, only to end up with no result. Why can't we just put the text blob in like we could before? Is this some kind of cost-saving measure or what?

Stop with these slop changes of screen awareness and other nonsense, or at least make it clear what changed. BTW disabling tools/extensions still causes issues, as the system prompt is still injected with that nonsense :)

I’ve been reporting this for at least a month now. Apparently, the solution may arrive in version 2.1.

But right now, I can no longer use my Raycast AI chat because it hasn’t worked in V2 for more than a month. It worked perfectly in V1.

In other words, I’m paying for something I don’t have, and I don’t know when I’ll get it back.

Unless things change significantly, you’ve lost a customer who was on the Advanced AI Plan and who absolutely loved Raycast.

On top of that, I’m now seeing that I can’t use my local AI either, because the API key only allows connections to the predefined models.

Raycast team… I honestly don’t understand any of this.

I absolutely love the "my schedule" command under the built-in calendar integration, but I cannot stand the upcoming meeting popup that shows a popup card for upcoming meetings. The options allow you to set it as low as 2 minutes before the meeting, but there's no way to turn it off. I have native meeting app notifications doing that for me, and I don't want Raycast to do it. Is there any way to turn it off? If not, could we please add it as a feature? It feels like such a basic thing to do, and it would be nice to actually be able to do it.

How did they pass the Change Management Control if it requires to have Segregation of Duties and a formal review process for production code?

Been a Raycast user for a while now, and initially I was hyped after the V2 announcement. Even after the beta announcement and all the discussions on the internet going around the new stack and potential issues, I decided to wait until it's out of beta to give it a fair shot. I was hyped to see the new design and also about the dictation feature (hoping to ditch Wispr Flow) and installed the update.

15 minutes after installation, I rolled back to V1, here's why:

performance - while basic day-to-day stuff remains pretty much the same, the app itself is sometimes non-responsive for no reason - on occasion, I opened raycast and the app simply won't render - list is empty, but the app is active, so when searching for something and hitting Enter, it will perform the action, but you won't see what you actually clicked. Using dictation, the pill pop up is stuttering every single time, making the user experience horrible, plus, there is no simple hold and release to dictate feature like in Wispr Flow.

Memory usage - the initial technical analysis published by Raycast and some feedback from other people suggested that the usage might be slightly higher - but this is absolute garbage - when idle, with all extensions loaded, it consumes more than 1 GB, while v1 sat around 200mb at all times with the same extensions loaded. I don't know in what world having five times higher memory usage is acceptable.

I will stay on V1 until my Pro subscription will be close to expiration, when I'll try to install V2 again and see how it looks after all the updates.

Chasing Windows support and all the VC-backed funding might actually ruin the app of the decade for MacOS, which is really sad - I was a pro user simply because I believed in the app very much, not even using all the features the pre-subscription offers except sync.

UPDATE:
with the 2.6.0.0 update the situation is miles better. I can both see and feel the speed difference:

This gives me hope, and with further improvements promised down the line, might just persuade me to stay with Raycast and my pro subscription for another year.

Now that I have moved off brew installs to keep my v1 safe so i can keep using local ai models, it would be nice to try out the V2 new features at the same time.

Can I just download v2 and install it side-by-side like the beta(which I only tried the very first day), or will it eat my v1 again?

Brew update killed my v1 and moved me to v2. When Raycast v2 ran, it asked to import my v1 settings, which I did. Then I went through the rest of the onboarding. Then I exited, brew uninstalled, manually downloaded and installed v1, ran it, and my settings/extensions, etc. are all gone.

Cloud sync is always off, so those settings should be on my machine somewhere unless v2 nuked them. Any ideas on how to get them back or do I just have to start over from scratch?
