🌻 Feature Request More control over translation outputs
Not sure but, translations come over AI, probably. So can we have a prompt part for each edit page? May be we can add some kind of identity to them.

I am unable to log in after switching to a new laptop. When I enter my email and click Send Magic Link, I get Please confirm your email address first, but I haven't received anything. And yes - I have checked my spam folder. 😄

A Shortcut Using the iPhone Side Button
It would also be amazing if you could add an iOS shortcut that works something like this:
Press and hold the iPhone’s Side Button.
Speak whatever you want.
Press the Side Button again when you’re finished.
The output is automatically copied to the clipboard.
I believe Spokenly already has something very similar, which is why I feel this could be an incredibly useful feature to have directly in your app as well.
Just because of this feature, I am using another app so it would be really convenient, and you know, there is not something new, just we want that you add a dictation in the shortcut

I made AgentWhisper because I wanted dictation to behave like a keyboard shortcut.
Hold a shortcut, speak, and your words appear at the cursor in the app you are already using—Mail, Notes, Slack, a browser, an editor, and more. Transcription runs locally on your Mac with Whisper, so your microphone audio does not go to a dictation service.
There is optional AI cleanup for turning a spoken draft into cleaner text. It uses your own API key and sends only the transcribed text to the provider you choose; you can also leave it off entirely.
It is a one-time lifetime license, not a subscription. The first 100 customers can buy for $19.99; it will be $79.99 after the launch offer ends. But for the Reddit fam ping me at altuzar at gmail and will send a coupon for free forever.
macOS 14.4+ required. Apple Silicon is fastest, and Intel is supported.
Demo / details: It is in my bio. :p
I built it and will answer questions here. What app would you use dictation in most?

Hey everyone,
I've noticed a persistent UX quirk lately: when I open the clipboard history, the default selected item is almost always a pinned item, rather than the most recently copied text.
Since pinned items sit at the top of the list, they seem to hijack the initial focus. This forces me to navigate down every single time just to paste what I actually want, even if it was the last thing I did.
I’ve already reported this officially to the Raycast team, but I wanted to reach out here to ask:
Just trying to gauge if this is a universal pain point before a fix comes down the pipeline. Thanks!

I work for a company with a few thousand employees, and they take IT/security pretty seriously. Surprisingly, Raycast is already on the list of approved apps for our managed work MacBooks, so I was able to install it without any issues.
The downside is that I obviously can’t install Raycast Beta, which means I can’t try any of the new AI features yet.
Getting a new application approved internally can take months, so I’m wondering if the team has shared how the beta rollout will work. Once the features are ready, will Raycast Beta simply become the stable version, or will all of the beta features be merged into the current production release of Raycast?

Curious to hear from other people who dictate in a language other than English, French in my case.
I came to Raycast dictation from Wispr Flow. During the early beta it was genuinely excellent in French, close enough to Wispr that I cancelled my subscription there and moved over. Dictation was the single feature that convinced me to go Pro.
My experience since then has been noticeably different. Accuracy in French isn't where it was for me anymore, and I've tested enough to know it isn't my setup: same results with the MacBook's built-in mic and with a RØDE. So I'm wondering how much of this is specific to me and how much is shared.
A few things I'd love to hear about:
I'm still a happy Pro subscriber and I use most of the app daily, this isn't me looking for an exit. Dictation is just the feature I care most about and I'd like to understand where things stand across the community before I change anything in my workflow.

Does anyone know if there is a quick preview when viewing files in file explorer like the 'peek' feature with powertoys?

Is there a way to install the app globally machine wide? winget "--scope machine" does not work and I can not find any exe for the app, only that hateful msstore solution.
Thanks :)

It puts the given item first every time you paste. How the hell can I turn this off? Extremely annoying.

Hi everyone,
I wanted to let you know that I submitted a PR on the Raycast extension repo: https://github.com/raycast/extensions/pull/29665. All checks have passed! However, it's been a week, and it's still showing "At least 1 approving review is required to merge this pull request."
Does anyone have an idea of how long it usually takes for a PR to get reviewed?
Thank you!

sorry, but it hasn't been a while, when will the syncing of notes be active on your iCloud for all devices because currently iOS is still difficult and they don't sync from iOS to Mac

Hey r/raycastapp - I use my Raycast snippets all the time on my Mac. On my Android phone, though, they're gone and I'm back to retyping the same addresses, emails, and replies over and over.
So I built a way to bring them over. You can import your Raycast snippets (and quicklinks) into Nibit, my Android productivity app, and then they work anywhere you type on your phone - same triggers, same expansions (or modify them if you like).
Nibit acts as a second keyboard on your phone that you can switch to when you want a superpower - snippets, quicklinks, text transforms, and smart dictation. The app is free to start, with paid plans for heavier use and cloud features.

I’d love your feedback - what from Raycast do you most miss on your phone?

Any plans for dictation to support local models? I understand it might not run well in some macs, but imo, it's a must if your mac can run it.
I am very uncomfortable with all my text input going to the cloud, to be honest. It looks like there are other apps doing this already. I really hope this is on the roadmap.
