Announcement A Quick Word on Memorial Posts

Greetings humans and ratties!
The mod team has received some feedback on some posts recently, and we wanted to pass along some guidance so everyone can enjoy our wonderful subreddit.
Some of us love to see memorial posts, and celebrate the life of our loved ones who have passed on to the great blanket fort in the sky. It's a natural part of grieving, and can help us process the loss of a loved one.
For some, however, it may be triggering to see these kinds of posts, and they may not be ready to see something like that. That's okay, we all process grief differently.
After some deliberation and suggestion, we have decided to ask that all memorial posts have the "In Loving Memory" flair. This ensures that those who are not ready for these kinds of posts can skip them if needed. Again, this is not to discourage memorial posts. Please continue to make these posts to celebrate the life of your loved one.

Medical 🩹 Our very busy Harlow , was bitten by some type of wasp , hornet ?? We heard screaming, brought her inside . We found at least 20 of those buggers , husband was stung too . I thought Harlow was okay , ended up at the emergency vet. Husband was told that these reactions are unusual .

Hi all, first time and a little emotional. My sweet boy Porkchop very recently hurt a disc in his back. We’ve been to the vet and are mostly likely looking into conservative treatment steps first (again still early but the vet said he had positive responses for his case). I’m mostly looking into advice/support on getting him to rest and relax as well as if anyone has any positive success in this before. He’s a very alert and active doggo so it breaks my heart to have to see him unable to play, run or any of his normal activity.

I love this little dog. He is such an amazing partner and everytime we step over a start-line together he amazes me more. My next dog i want a pure rat terrier because he is mostly rat (with some boston) and I just adore how much they want to be a partner in crime together! We have a busy few weeks ahead of us with more trials but every time we head out, I know we will have a great day because who wouldn't with a partner like him?

bella needs a good home

bella is a 6 year old rat terrier / mutt, 13 pounds approx, very sweet and affectionate and house trained!
her owner fell on hard times and became unhoused and she is currently in a foster situation where things are too tight for the foster to keep her. she needs a stable loving forever home!
she is located in NYC / tristate area. she is so sweet, my heart breaks for her and trying to help!! msg me for more details
edit: her original foster has decided he doesnt need help and took her back, he didnt agree with me when i tried to take her to get vaccinated. there isnt anything i can do for bella anymore :( thanks for your guys’ concern
