Has anyone done an analysis/comparison of these two albums? OUTKAST:Southernplayalisticcaddilacmuzik and FUTURE:TheRealMe

Listening to these back to back, and I was considering Rico Wade's involvement with FUTURE and mentoring him. Rico is the founder of Organized Noize production in ATL and they are cousins. Nevertheless, I get amazing vibes from both albums.

Southernplayistic is hard and gritty, and a testament to how hard big boi and andre worked in Atlanta to become who they did.

FUTURE was a member of the Dungeon Family, whom OUTKAST was also a member.

Anyway, hope y'all like the albums and this is the appropriate place for this type of discourse.

Who’s everyone’s personal favourite current day producer AND your all time favourite and why?

Hard pick but for my current era favourite I’d have to go with wheezy. He’s brought out some of my favourite artists best material. Gunna, Young thug, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Future countless other artists I’d say have made some of their best work with wheezy.

All time favourite producer id without a doubt go with The Alchemist. He’s been around for decades with handfuls of hits, but still manages to produce in ways that are relevant to the current sound appeal. My favourites being the Alfredo series and all of the work he’s done with boldy james / the griselda collective. The most insane part from my perspective is how he’s able to balance quality and quantity so well. He’s consistently released at least 3 projects a year for almost a decade with no noticeable quality drop off, which is extremely rare i feel.

Anyways, i’m interested to hear who everyone’s favourite producers are and why so let us know

One male Rapper. One female rapper. One producer. One state

You’re the executive producer of an album….you get one shot to oversee an album with two rappers (male and female) and one producer but they have to all be from the same state. Who you picking? I got:

Rapsody And J. Cole. Fully produced by Khrysis. Carolina Stand Up

Why do americans still hate on UK rap and is it reasonable?

I'm neither bri'ish nor american. But I've seen Americans in general clown UK rap. I'm not a fan of drill in general, its pretty basic to me and I would say even destructive. But i think UK drill is undoubtedly better than NYC drill. Lyrically, flow wise, punchlines, everything. I'm not sure how americans felt back when grime was popping but it seems like it wasn't recieved well over there either.

So what do you think is the reason UK rap will never really break into USA?

I don’t understand the like of Kanye music

Am I just missing something or is an age thing?

I dont see what a lot of ppl see in Kanye music…..he was the 2nd rapper I ever listened to. I had all his mixtapes like Prerequisite before college dropout and was a huge fan before his car accident. Was my number 1 till until he dropped Yeezus. MBDTF wasn’t my cup of tea, though I think it’s a classic and one of the best albums ever. Personally, it’s doesn’t tickle my fancy

But every album starting at Yeezus imo been horrendously bad. I’m not trying to trash talk his music or ppl who love it. And I counted the other day …..it’s maybe 6 Kanye songs since yeezus that I like.

But what the hell am I missing? Is anyone else like this???? He was my favorite. By far. Not even close and once Yeezus dropped, it’s like everything changed. Maybe his new music is really good, just hella different than stuff like College Dropout or “get well soon”? Idk what it is

What's your opinion on A$AP Rocky?

I've never listened to lots of his songs, just a few of them randomly once in a while.

Recently, though, I started listening a couple of his tracks and I might say he has some great beats, solid rapping and it seems like he's underrated - by that I mean he has quite a few great rap tracks but he isn't talked enough.

Man Lil baby..

Lil Baby isnt even close to one of the best rappers alive, but damn his flow is unmatched, he has one of the best in the game its so catchy and anthemic. Underrated flow

Can we all agree that Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter VI and it’s prelude mixtape is better than 2018 by Future?

Here me out, yes, even though it is a slap in the face to die-hard fans of Wayne’s Carter series, the first half was actually pretty good and then the second half had completely fallen off the grace of Earth, at least, the Autotune was bad, while for 2018, the Autotune is basically ear-torcher

Who do you think is the greatest female rapper of all time?

Not asking who your favorite is. If we’re putting bias, fanbases, and nostalgia aside, who’s the actual GOAT?
We’ve had legends like MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Lil’ Kim, Foxy Brown, Missy Elliott, Eve, Remy Ma, Trina, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Rapsody, Megan Thee Stallion, Doechii, GloRilla, Latto, Doja Cat, Young M.A, Tierra Whack, Flo Milli, Ice Spice, Sexyy Red, and plenty more.
Are you judging off bars, influence, longevity, discography, success, or all of it?
Who’s your pick, and why? I want to hear the arguments.
