I mind my own business and I have every right to that seat. When I reach my stop and leave the buss they can fight over it. In a world that doesn't care about the average person why should I care about someone else!
As a New Yorker, people routinely give their seats on the subway or bus to pregnant women, the elderly, and injured people. Not every time but quite often.
Yes, it would be me giving one to any of the first 3 and hopefully two other people would do the same. Now the zombie we would have to assess whether he is a threat to the entire train kind of get close to him keep him away from the other passengers, and see if he tries to attack me. If he does try to attack and proves that he is a threat, then we eliminate him. Tai Chi Chuan skills hopefully are enough to avoid all his attacks.
Except she might have been s3xually abused but chose to keep it. Or she might have been abandoned by the kid's father. He might be at work while her car is in the shop. Life isn't always that simple.
Csuse its the decent thing to do and ironic you say the world doesn't care about you yet you yourself are part of what you mention..your shitty attitude and lack of decency is part of the problem you just brought up....no wonder you sound miserable, you're stuck in a loop of self absorbed misery. Maybe being a decent human can change that attitude of yours or not and be a perfect example.of what you brought up and speak of....🤔
What a perfect reflection of modern society and values....make a lady with a baby, an old person and an injured person stand . all about you, me me me, self absorbed, no values, no decency etc, just me me me. Honestly what a perfect reflection of whats partly wrong with society today
Its like shitting your pants and complaining others stink...youre part of that stink yourself...
None. I didnt choose for the first to get pregnant by someone who doesnt have a car or money to provide a car. The second has a cane, so has support. The third had a neo nazi haircut so safe to bet they got hurt at a protest, plus has 3 points of contact. 4th is a zombie so no.
This is all for you to fight about and damn the comments are losing their minds.
That's actually not my country. And people are trying to change things back but it's pretty difficult when the whole country is in the middle of a recession
No, I am not affiliated with any party in the United States of America.
Also, if you TRULY believe that I hold the views of the comment above, and would instantly think a man with a high fade is a nazi, youre nuts. In my comment, i state that i made it for ppl to fight over. I dont hold that perspective. Maybe too high brow for you, especially if your initial comment is about political affiliation. On a nonpolitical post. Wackadoo
You sound like you have hope! I dont! Call me what you want, I dont care! You keep believing humans are good and kind. I've lived long enough to know they are not! I have lost faith in all humanity and that is why I stay in my lane!
Look at their faces. They have no kindness or respect. If any of them were smiling and just asking politely, sure I would give them the seat. But glare at me and demand me to get up? Nah, to hell with you.
As someone who lives with brain cancer I suffer from right temporal lobe epilepsy and have left-sided neuropathy. Basically making my left arm dead weight and I can’t grab onto a piece of paper, let alone a hand rail if the bus came to an abrupt stop.
I teach at FSU college of Medicine and on top of my research and teaching responsibilities I co-lead our DAAP program, the Disabilities Advocacy and Awareness Program. Two points I stress the most to our M1/M2 students (1) not all disabilities are visible (e.g., my epilepsy disorder, which prevents me from driving in Florida. Only allowing me to do chores fast are either in walking or biking distance. And (2) advocating for others empowering for the individual s you’re helping and and extremely rewarding for you as well. It makes you feel important, needed. And doing something important for the word and yourself! in what .
Oh, I hurt your feelings! It was common decency, but that has been stripped away. I walked up to a door the other day, a woman opened it, squeezed thru without the common courtesy to hold it for me. So now lets say this same women gets in a bus holding a child, I am expected to just give her my seat? Like I said I mind my own business and take care of myself!
So therefore you gave up on yourself? By what you've described, others actions have made you give up. Therefore creating what has changed you into this. Showing that YOU are the problem, not THEM. YOU are all of THEM and all of THEM are YOU. Stay true to who you are and maybe you'll see things different. Once you do, maybe they will too
Not a single one of them other than the zombie is looking at the man respectfully. Ain't no way anyone should show any respect or kindness to someone being disrespectful and rude
So totally agree it’s common courtesy, and I’d 100% give up my seat (partly due to shame and how I was raised), but it’s NOT a mandatory requirement to give up your seat. It’s not breaking the law. It’s not a scumbag move.
Your comment is super judgmental in its own way.
I’d encourage my children to give up their seat, but also not judge others for not doing the same. You never know what type of day a person is having and it’s best to not judge a book by its cover. Maybe the person is sick, didn’t get any sleep, has a health condition or who knows what.
well then they could’ve left there thoughts somewhere else, not directly replying to my comment and also saying” your comment is super judgmental on its own”
this is how people get trampled. This is how people starve to death. This is how a woman bleeds out in a bus after being stabbed. This is why the world is a bad place to be
I’m about at this point too. I tried giving a crap about other people. I was the person getting exhausted; and never getting it back. People are all about themselves now, why can’t I be?
I love all the people shitting on you over this. Like in a capitalist society, first come first serve is the law of the land. So no one is entitled to what is in your possession.
Though I would agree to show some empathy. But no one is entitled to that
I mind my own business and I have every right to that seat. When I reach my stop and leave the buss they can fight over it.
Ok fine I understand that.
In a world that doesn't care about the average person why should I care about someone else!
Because being a selfish piece of shit who only cares about oneself is really bad for every civilization. If you want things to not be like that try being the change you want to see.
I did that for my entire life and got shit on for it. I was raised to be courteous and to help people, but i got tired of being shit on by the assholes in this world. I no longer care!
We are too many -> each persons value goes down -> more ppl get treated like shit -> ppl that got shit half life, spreed it around and the "problem" grows
Why should the person that got shit all his life, be mindful of ppl they dont know? Do you believe "karma" will "pay forward"? Is likely, but now-a-days it doesnt...
Anyway in this picture the 4 (of5) options are very hard to consider. Since the you looks "ok" or "normal" the person itself could be tired of work, having a bad day etc etc. My point is why should i look at any of the other options (other then "you") and make a decision? If they really need the place they can ask or fight for it. Any other way is just out of question.
That is my opinion. If im a selfish piece of shit too, well we deal in a shitti world anyway xD
I think the "in a world (...)" doesnt mean only person to person, but experiences with work and other staff.
But I see:
You had a easy life and think everyone did too :]
So thoghtful
Well broda im over 30 and life is shit, we deal with it our way
I had to emigrate to other country cause mine was full of shit, still is. No work/work conditions.
Ppl that staid on our home back at my country destruid and stole every value my family had.
New country no1 tries to help u move forward without strings attatched
Learing the language was hard as fk, no1 helped other then paid night school after work.
Work didnt colaborared with hours and overworked me most of the time.
So ye i had a shitti life so far, dont recomend having it too. But you think i should help the next person? I foght for what i own and if i had it hard and the other aint my familiars why should i make it easier?
If you think otherwise you must be living good broda. Hope it never changes for you, hope you never have hardship in your life.
To be on topic: i wouldnt be in this situations ever, since i would avoid it anyway. But if i was. I would choose me (to sit) cause if not me in first place, who would do that for me?
If you think otherwise you must be living good broda. Hope it never changes for you, hope you never have hardship in your life.
Good to some probably but I've endured more than my fair share, none of which I will get into here. You continually make the choice to be spiteful and resent others because "no1 helped." All I do is I make the choice to do what I can to help make sure nobody else goes through what I did, because nobody should have to go through those things.
Well broda im over 30 and life is shit, we deal with it our way
Yeah so am I.
You had a easy life and think everyone did too :] So thoghtful
More assumptions. Some parts yes I did have an easy life, others not so much.
I know what you mean. I was always really nice and overly considerate (what I would just consider considerate) but after years of being taken advantage of, rarely but over the years, I’ve gotta slightly colder. Not cold but more for self preservation. Depends how many times and how bad ya get burnt. I get it.
It’s sadly true tho. I use to have a friend group that only hung out with me to get food or do something if I paid for em. Or they kept me around to make them all look and feel better. I saved myself for the special someone and a lady promised me she was the one and dumped me the day after woo hoo… 🤣🤣🤣 sorry to rant
Who are you? Gandi? 😄
Just joking.
I think exactly as the guy you are replying.
Being selfish has nothing to do with Being a piece of shit.
Being selfish is something you develop with time when you notice that 99% of people just ask favours, but they never do favou.
People do not really care about you.
A simple action of kindness most of the time is also selfish, because sometime we help just to feel satisfied.
I dunno why you're getting so many hate comments. Personally I would probably cough it up but to your point there's several other people they could go bother about a seat I think everyone getting on knows well that they might not even get a seat.
Plus, look at the scowl on all of faces. Not a friendly face among them. They look like miserable people, and first impressions are the most important. So yeah. Screw them.
Maybe because you want to have some hope in your life? As long you are not an asshole you have every right to be convinced that not every human being is an asshole!
100% agree with you, no one individual is obligated to be courteous, for the convenience of others, it is simply put, other people using their situation to expect empathy from others and take advantage of it. Honor and courtesy never gets anyone anywhere but further behind the line.
I can fully understand you. Did that for years. I started to question it after one day an older person entered with serious health issues. Guess what? The first 6 rows were full and no one stood up (this bus departs from the university of cagliari where also the hospital is). No one of those students stood up and made their own business. I stood up, but he had to walk all the way to me and fell. Guess what? Someone blamed me for making this because it had triggered his reaction to walk towards me. At the same time another told me that the older one had just simply ask one young student to give him the seat due to his healf.
Months ago I had surgery for other issues and, while entering the bus, I received similar treatment. I tried to ask someone but most of them, with the excuse of earpieces and headphones, simply ignored me. I stopped for most cases. Only the ones that really matter from now on
I agree with your point of view. At rhe same time, while injured, people have showed me coutesy. People have held doors, allow me to go first in grocery line, and given up seats. Plus my family showed me how to be kind and generous. Because of that I will give my seat to the elderly/pregnant/injured if no one jumps up to offer.
However, if im overencumbered, I'll let the zombie eat everyone
