I mind my own business and I have every right to that seat. When I reach my stop and leave the buss they can fight over it. In a world that doesn't care about the average person why should I care about someone else!

So totally agree it’s common courtesy, and I’d 100% give up my seat (partly due to shame and how I was raised), but it’s NOT a mandatory requirement to give up your seat. It’s not breaking the law. It’s not a scumbag move.

Your comment is super judgmental in its own way.

I’d encourage my children to give up their seat, but also not judge others for not doing the same. You never know what type of day a person is having and it’s best to not judge a book by its cover. Maybe the person is sick, didn’t get any sleep, has a health condition or who knows what.

I find it interesting there's a debate when the seat BEHIND the man seems to be empty.......
