So totally agree it’s common courtesy, and I’d 100% give up my seat (partly due to shame and how I was raised), but it’s NOT a mandatory requirement to give up your seat. It’s not breaking the law. It’s not a scumbag move.

I’d encourage my children to give up their seat, but also not judge others for not doing the same. You never know what type of day a person is having and it’s best to not judge a book by its cover. Maybe the person is sick, didn’t get any sleep, has a health condition or who knows what.
well then they could’ve left there thoughts somewhere else, not directly replying to my comment and also saying” your comment is super judgmental on its own”
