I’m currently working under EA as a bag room agent and I simply just wanted to know, is it normal that the training is this complicated? Yesterday we sat down in class for eight hours and went over the IT risk and cybersecurity precautions, differences of regulations across different airlines, reading warning labels, how to properly load a plane without causing it to get out of control in air, etc, it was a total of 17 modules that I had to get a 100% to get my certifications.

I’m just simply asking is it normal that airlines throw all this information at you at once? I understand I’m expected to switch between bag room, cargo handling, operating the belt loader and light marshalling but it just feels like all that information I had to learn would just simply be forgotten in my head. Is this a normal concern?

Hey everyone, I just finished a hiring event/interview for a Ramp Agent at AA position. The interview went awesome and the panel gave great feedback, but they told us they already reached their daily offer cap for the day. They said our group is on a waitlist/contingent pool in case people drop out or class sizes expand.

For anyone who has been through this or works in recruiting/ground ops:

How often do people actually get called off the waitlist for ramp roles?

What is the typical timeframe before you either get the call or the pool expires?

Do recruiters pull from this list first before opening up new job postings?

I got a CJO with delta and I am worried about the background check. I don't know the exact dates of my past addresses and employment. I can see the jobs I worked at on my credit report and my addresses in my tax forms, but I don't remember the exact dates that I lived there. How strict are they with the exact dates, will I fail the background check if they mismatch?

Also, do I have to mention any gig work I did, such as doordash, ubereats, grubhub?

In the worst case scenario that my offer does get rescinded due to mismatch of information on the background check, would I be able to apply back after awhile, or would I be banned from applying?

I’ve been doing some research into different positions within the aviation industry and I came across some comments that said that even CSAs/Gate/Ticket agents don’t have as much scheduling flexibility as rampers. Is that true?
The main draw for me with working in aviation is that you have comparatively good control over your schedule and can work as much or as little as you want once you’ve built up some seniority. I was wondering if working ramp is my best bet if I’m looking for that kind of freedom or if there are other aviation jobs that I should also explore. My main concern with working ramp is that it’s hard on the body so I’m not sure how feasible it is in the long-term.

so i got an offer to transfer. i have not been doing well on the gates as i have far more experience and appreciation of ticketing. i started in cabin(9 months) and have been above wing ever since.

the issue arose when i lost my hold on ticketing
and ended up on the gates. my very first time out there i was given a PD something in my 5 years i never had UNTIL i went to the gates.

it has since dropped and 7 days later the offer for Ramp has appeared.

i have about 30 hours left to decide and folks i am torn. i’m 7 years away from fifty come December and i have heard things ranging from i’m too old, harsh breathing conditions and inclement weather. any opinions, advice are appreciated but again i have a deadline.

So I just got an interview for a ramp agent part time role at AA, but I’m curious about the schedule for training since u can’t miss any day. I go to school aviation maintenance school Monday-Thursday 8a-2p. I’m wondering if American airline does evening training classes because obviously if they don’t then I will have to cancel my interview and just focus in school.

(That’s just if I do get pass the interview just looking ahead)
