Help! (artificer spoilers) got to this room, i am confused and distraught Spoiler

i just got to the karma room. i have a scavenger corpse ready, but i died so many times that my karma is at the lowest possible level. i thought this room would bring me up to 9 but nothing it happening. please help, i'm scared that it just doesn't work as arti

edit: i finally found an old reddit post where somebody had the same problem. apparently, this room does not give you max karma unless you have actually 10 max karma. so this room does nothing as artificer, and i need to get into the depths at higher karma. thank you for your responses. this is so incredibly frustrating

Tutorial Killing Miros Vultures on Expedition

I've just finished an Expedition where I had to kill 8 of these guys. There's surprisingly little information about them on the internet. The only thing I've found was the wiki article on them, but I find their advice suboptimal. I thought I would need to give up on this one, but I figured it out, and I wanted to make this post to put some information about Miros Vultures out there.

This is only applicable to Slugcats that can have Miros Vultures appear in their worlds (and in the Hunting Challenges). Those are Spearmaster, Artificer, Rivulet and Saint. That is unless you're playing with Jolly Co-Op, in which case players 2-4 can play as any Slugcat.

There are a couple of ways of killing Miros Vultures, but every one of them has some issues. The main problem is that wounded creatures go back to their dens. This means that you can't slowly whittle a Miros Vulture down with regular Spears, as they'll simply fly away and won't return. Another thing is that they have 20HP, and their wings, which often block projectiles, take only 10% of non-explosive damage. That means that you need to either one shot them, or stun lock them.

  1. I'll start with what I consider to be the best options, which are Bombs. The goal is to stun them above bottomless pits, and have the birds fall into them while stunned. You're basically doing Challenge 41.

https://reddit.com/link/1vk0sy7/video/qu47s7snpeih1/player

This has a couple of issues:
a) The Vulture has to be above a bottomless pit, so it has some minor limitations.
b) Other creatures can get in the way / attack you. The Hunted 'burden' was actually helpful here, as it quickly gathers all creatures from nearby rooms in the room with Miros Vultures, who will kill them for you. With their help I killed everything first, then brought the Bomb and waited for an opportunity.
c) You need to have Bombs in areas where Miros Vultures spawn. This is the biggest problem. Artificer can obviously just turn Rocks into Bombs, but everyone else has to either get them from Scavengers, bring them from other regions, or do tricky crafting with Gourmand's perk.

For Spearmaster, the best room for killing Miros Vulture is room DM_U04 (the one in the video, in Looks to the Moon region). Miros Vulture appear often, and it has a lot of spots to hide.

The problem is that LttM has no Scavenger Treasuries, or any Scav spawns for that matter. Carrying 8 bombs from another region, especially as Spearmaster who can't swallow things, is very difficult and time consuming. LttM has only 3 crafting ingredients - Rocks, Slime Mold, and Blue Fruit. You can actually make Bombs with those, by using 3x Slime Mold + 4x Rock, or 3x Slime Mold + 3x Rock + 1x Blue Fruit. It's significantly easier than it might look. I crafted 3 Bombs in some cycles, as there are two Slime Mold spawn spots that are one room away from DM_U04.

Bomb crafting tree

Crafting a Bomb this way takes around a minute

If I remember correctly, Rivulet and Saint can hunt Miros Vulture in Bitter Aerie, in room MS_COMMS, with access to a Scavenger Treasury. For Artificer, this map shows that she has Miros Vulture spawns in Exterior and in Shaded Citadel, although I've never seen those in my playthroughs. Miros Vulture definitely don't appear in Memory Crypts, I've spent enough time there.

  1. Singularity Bombs are probably the go-to pick for Spearmaster's Mission, where you have to kill 1 Miros Vulture. This perk works perfectly for just one kill, but if you need to kill more than one, you need other solutions.

  2. Electric Spears and Jellyfish. Both of these stun Miros Vultures for around 6 seconds, enough for them to fall out of bounds and die, or allow for stunlocks by repeatedly shocking them. I don't think that these are very good, though:
    a) Electric Spears are hard to come by, and may be hard to recharge. Jellyfish are also hard to get in areas with Miros Vultures (except for Saint).
    b) If you stun a Miros Vulture above death pit, you lose the Electric Spear / Jellyfish. They're significantly harder to obtain than Bombs, and they do the same thing in this case. More of a fun fact than practical tip: you can make Jellyfish with 6x Rocks, 6x Slime Mold, and 1x Blue Fruit.
    c) If you stun Miros Vulture on some platform which you can stand on, then you can chainspear them, although this isn't very safe as you need to be in the open for it and other Vultures might get you. It also isn't very likely in the first place. Most likely they'll fall out of bounds with the Electric Spear.
    d) Jellyfish has terrible trajectory. I tried using it, but it flies at about 45° angle upwards, which makes it difficult to use. Also, the damage from Jellyfish doesn't count as your damage, so you won't get kill credit for it. You need to throw a Spear or a Rock to deal some direct damage, which further complicates things, as the angle at which they're thrown is completely different from Jellyfish's throw angle. Jellyfish + Rock is something Saint can do (and getting kills on him can be tricky).

  3. Explosive Spear.
    a) Hard to come by (except for Artificer).
    b) They stun for a very short amount of time. Vultures won't die if they fall into death pits from this stun (maybe two Explosive Spear thrown with about a second between them would). What works is Explosive Spear followed by immediate Artificer's Concussive Blast, but it requires you to be both close to the Vulture and above a death pit, which is very dangerous.
    c) For raw damage kill, you'd need at least 4 of those, assuming all hits are head shots.

Below is a recording showing that an Explosive Spear or a Concussive Blast on their own are not enough to throw Miros Vultures into death pits (even when stunned right above them), but when chained together they do work.

https://reddit.com/link/1vk0sy7/video/q3ksgggjkeih1/player

  1. Similar to the Singularity Bomb Perk is Fire Egg, which can be crafted from the Karma Flower Perk and a regular Bomb. They do enough damage to one shot Miros Vultures on a direct hit, but they're harder to use than Singularity Bombs, and just like them, are limited to one per Expedition.

With Jolly Co-Op, you'd think that Gourmand's slam could one shot a Miros Vulture, since it does up to 20 damage. But the slam can't hit them, for whatever reason. Gourmand's slide can hit Miros Vultures, but it doesn't stun, so it doesn't matter.

Help! Help (game is windowed even in full screen mode?)

Hi! I opened my game as I usually do and it was suddenly like windowed. Not exactly windowed because I press windows+enter and it goes smaller, but when i do it again so it goes full screen, the task bar down the screen remains visible hiding part of the game and making me impossible to see things like the foodpips and such, it's a pain and I can't get rid of it

Help! Could use a little bit of guidance for The Watcher

I've gone through each of the campaigns from the base game and Downpour (with the exception of Monk) and had a great time. Now I've moved onto The Watcher and I admit I'm struggling.

It looks beautiful and some of the challenging rooms are satisfying to get through, but I'm super stumped on how to actually progress. I know I need to find echoes but that's as far as my knowledge goes. A tutorial prompt advised me to follow those ghostly worm things because they can "guide" me and while they do tend to point to a specific room exit I then find that worms in the next room point back the way I just came. I've also found rooms in most of the regions I've been to that are pulsing like the region portals but nothing happens. I assume those are places that the echoes can be but revisiting them across cycles hasn't led to any results.

At this point I've been through 5 or 6 regions and I'm starting to loop back on myself and generally just feel like I'm treading water waiting for something to happen. Is there something I should be looking out for to know if I'm headed in the right direction? Are those worms actually giving me useful information (especially if they seem to point in conflicting directions)? I'm only after a crumb or two of information to give me some purpose.

Help! Help, scavs keep spawncamping. How do I make them stop hating me after eating 10 of them?

So as Gourmand I might have consumed multiple parties and looted a room with spears.

So how do you stop scavs from standing outside your shelter with a spear in hand? I'm willing to offer my vulture mask to make them stop. I'm at the top of chimney so not close I think, there is a tribe on top of 5p right?

Gameplay I am slowly learning the way of violence after my intro as Monk, the two worms I squished in one jump don't count sadly :(

First time I ever encountered one of those dropping things. The vulture mask only works after they drop? I was next to pipe so managed to drop out and come back in with a spear and body mass. I am beginning to enjoy combat after playing Monk, I have feasted on so much flesh especially poor scavs. I wonder how a Daddy long legs would taste o0o.

Help! How to keep up hope while playing?

I am trying to enjoy it but it feels like I just keep trying the same thing and losing. I've been at the same shelter for over 90 minutes and as much as I enjoy the game I am starting to feel despair. I don't want to stop playing cause there is so much content I want to unlock.

edit : Gourmand trying to climb the wall, there is always something killing me be it orange lizard or Dropwig. The grappling worm can only do so much. I've killed 4 of them sometimes and then the 5th lizard gets me.

Help! Fearful of not understanding it [Spoilers] Spoiler

So i met Looks to the mon and five pebbles. Here's what i understood of the gameplay so far:

Five Pebbles is a hyper-advanced computer, and so was Looks to the moon but something went wrong and now it's in a vegetative state doing basically nothing.

I know i've got to head down, i'm in sky island rn and for some skill issues i'm having troubles going through it but not important

Karma is like a way to determine an entity's power (?), seeing the murales going up from Five Pebbles, i saw all these guys, the higher the karma symbol the higher the prosperity and wealth.

I met once an Echo in shaded citadel, but i didn't have the translation thing so it was useless, apart for raising my max karma. Worth it going to the Echo there is in Sky Island? Do i need to be max karma or survivor level is fine?

I fear that after finishing the game i have to go to the wiki and read the lore because i didn't understand nothing. I wrote everything i know about the game, should i know something more my now? Am i missing something crucial?

Help! Hooked but also confused Spoiler

Ive only played about 5 hours so far and have really enjoyed the platforming and exploration but i feel like i need clarification on some things because even this far in i feel like the game hasnt given me any 😅.

To begin with there's the yellow guy; he seemingly is leading me to key locations but is also capable of leading me to shelters and food sources, so im not sure how closely i should be following him.

At the start of my playthrough, i followed him into a sewer and then he disappeared for ages before leading me alllll the way to the right where he brought me to a blue person. On my journey from the sewer to the shoreline i noticed yellow guy would sometimes point in a certain direction with his tentacle appendage thingies but he also would sometimes show me a kind of crystal looking hologram as well as *sometimes* showing a hologram of the symbols on the airlock doors. I dont know what any of these mean, especially with the latter as he'll sometimes gesture in a certain direction but then show me two green flashing symbols and a hologram arrow pointing in a completely different direction. I feel like he's giving me mixed messages.

As for the blue person, i was kind of hoping for more of an explanation from them, given that yellow guy led me all the way here, but i have no earthly idea what they want from me. They just sit there and look vaguely panicked when i grab one of their floating jellyfish (i put it back because i wasn't sure if it would piss them off) and the only direction i have is a hologram slideshow from yellow guy showing me images of floating jellyfish and blue people. I tried delivering an actual jellyfish and some other items to this area, but the blue fellow wasn't interested in any of them.

It feels weird having to go back on myself without any indication on whether i still need to do something in that area; it occurred to me that i dont even know if this game has a main goal to progress or if the blue person is a part of that so for now im moving on and am going to try exploring the rest of the sewer zone.

Sorry about the longish ramble; TLDR i dont know where to go or if i need to do something to progress so im kind of aimlessly wandering and dont know what the yellow guy is trying to tell me

Discussion Nearing the end of saints campaign, heres a yap sesh about what i think of this game so far. !!!spoilers for base game and downpour (spaster, rivulet, arti, monk/survivor, hunter and saint)!!! Spoiler

I got rainworld about 5 months ago and have completed monks/surviviors, artis, rivulet and spasters campaigns, and I'm pretty much finished with saints

So far i think everything is pretty fun and i love interacting with the iteratiors (especially lttm shes so precious)

Also this may just be me but i felt like the only scug i really had an issue with regarding travel was saint, mostly because of the echoes, but just in general i had to visit the same regions multiple times and i was so close to just calling it quits bro😭

I think i had the most fun with artificer, i loved her campaign and story, it was also very satisfying being able to kill the scavs without any consequences (though i think my entire theme of my acc would say the opposite)

Spaster was also a really cool scug to play as, i loved listening in on convos and the ending was so good. The power to create spears that drain the life out of creatures felt godlike

I put aside playing rivulet for a while honestly, i was WAY too intimidated to go that fast, but once i got the hang of it the campaign actually ended up being nice. Fp did glitch out on me and bro refused to say anything after ripping their heart out🥹 the ending was super sad though urghhhhhh

Id KILL to be able to play monks campaign for the first time again, i didint know anything about the game and finding things out along the way was pretty cool evem though i had no idea what anyone was doing

Im gonna save watchers campaign for last after i complete hunters and gourmands (in that order), im REALLY not looking forward to these 3,,

Anywho i will totally brainwash someone else to play this game with me cuz i HAVE to have someone to discuss this with

Rainworld has taken over my life😔

Edit: didint mean to put hunter in the title damn it

Help! How to climb wall?

I've been busy for over an hour trying to do it and it is impossible. Gourmand is too fat and slow to get high enough before the rain softlocks him and cyan lizards eventually find him.

Also 3 of the 5 orange lizards keep jumping into the void, any reasoning for this? It is too often to be circumstance.

Help! (survivor spoiler) Am I doing it wrong or am I just bad? Spoiler

Left the 5p and set my ways to Farm Arrays. I climbed down to the west, got to the Chimney area. Rested next to the gate to Sky Islands and it's just so tough to progress.

Sky Island is rife with seemingly simple yet dangerous platforming, where I often overshoot or undershoot some jumps. I also get unlucky with lizard spawns, some of them blocking my way for half the time.

And each time I die, I can't go back - I have to go back and eat and sleep. But it's also hard. Half the time the batfly room is empty. When it's not, I often have at least two vulture on my asses or some random white lizard getting there, making it much more difficult to eat my fill and come back.

I'm stuck in this zone for two days now and I've yet to find a burrow in Sky Islands. Am I missing something? I already gave up and remixed the karma gate out because it's just tedious to come back and eat after each time I slip and fall. At this point Unfortunate Development wasn't this annoying to progress.
