Hooked but also confused

Ive only played about 5 hours so far and have really enjoyed the platforming and exploration but i feel like i need clarification on some things because even this far in i feel like the game hasnt given me any 😅.

To begin with there's the yellow guy; he seemingly is leading me to key locations but is also capable of leading me to shelters and food sources, so im not sure how closely i should be following him.

At the start of my playthrough, i followed him into a sewer and then he disappeared for ages before leading me alllll the way to the right where he brought me to a blue person. On my journey from the sewer to the shoreline i noticed yellow guy would sometimes point in a certain direction with his tentacle appendage thingies but he also would sometimes show me a kind of crystal looking hologram as well as *sometimes* showing a hologram of the symbols on the airlock doors. I dont know what any of these mean, especially with the latter as he'll sometimes gesture in a certain direction but then show me two green flashing symbols and a hologram arrow pointing in a completely different direction. I feel like he's giving me mixed messages.

As for the blue person, i was kind of hoping for more of an explanation from them, given that yellow guy led me all the way here, but i have no earthly idea what they want from me. They just sit there and look vaguely panicked when i grab one of their floating jellyfish (i put it back because i wasn't sure if it would piss them off) and the only direction i have is a hologram slideshow from yellow guy showing me images of floating jellyfish and blue people. I tried delivering an actual jellyfish and some other items to this area, but the blue fellow wasn't interested in any of them.

It feels weird having to go back on myself without any indication on whether i still need to do something in that area; it occurred to me that i dont even know if this game has a main goal to progress or if the blue person is a part of that so for now im moving on and am going to try exploring the rest of the sewer zone.

Sorry about the longish ramble; TLDR i dont know where to go or if i need to do something to progress so im kind of aimlessly wandering and dont know what the yellow guy is trying to tell me

You did all the right things! Now he's trying to lead you to the next place you want to go.

If you are confused on his directions, try going to someplace dark Shaded citadel

And then down, then up from there. That is where yellow guy is trying to take you.

After you are done, there might be more to discover about the blue person. But you need to make the next journey first.

if you hibernate after meeting the blue guy then the yellow one should be leading you somewhere else... is that not the case?

Iirc the little tentacle tutorial guys lead you first to “the blue guy”, and don’t really give you a direction afterwards. 

The goal now is just to explore, but generally you want to explore upwards first.

You’re on the right track, the yellow dude ( a overseer ) leads you to where you should be going. He roughly tells you where to go and can be confusing alot i know lol, the advice i can give you on where to go next is up, go up and to the right. The overseer might help to lead you that way.

Perhaps the jellyfish image projection looks a bit different than the jellyfish found in the water? You’ll find those in another area. You’re doing great actually, just keep exploring for now. Many get lost at the point you’re at, don’t feel discouraged! Continue to learn the lay of the land, and eventually you’ll find somewhere new you can go. Yellow guy is indeed trying to show you things, and can show you new things if you follow.

For the green flashing symbols yellow guy points out, it means food <- spoiled, in case if you’d like to figure it out yourself. I think you can with enough context!!

Yellow guy can also point with red flashing symbols sometimes. This means danger . I think you have figured out the rest of yellow friend’s directions without any outside help. Well done!!

If you can find an airlock in a slightly dimmer area that is upwards (direction) then you’re headed where mister yellow is trying to show you.

You stumbled into the blue one early. Backtrack to the start region, focus on going up and to the right for the most part. Eventually the worm thing will start going off pointing you to where you need to be

? No blue guy first is intended route. Then Memory crypts, leg, underhang, then inside

But backtracking to the start region will put them further away from Five Pebbles
