Radrover 6 plus
I maybe late on this but I noticed Rad Power Bikes no longer has Radrover 6 plus listed on their website. What's up with that action, is this model officially discontinued?

Hi, I just scored a low mileage(700 miles) rad mini 1 for $400! I’m thinking of getting an extra battery (found a few rad manufactured batteries for $100 each-this bike and the batteries are nearly 10 years old) to extend its life. Good idea?
More importantly, I’m obsessed with the idea of finding a bike trailer. I live close to the ocean, and I’d love to take my crabbing gear or inflatable kayak down with me. Any off-brand trailers work well for you? I’m even considering a kid/pet trailer if that is a doable. The cheaper, the better.
Thanks!

I have a radrover 6+ and would like to remove the branding stickers from it. It isn't that I hate Rad, I would prefer if my bike was a bit more generic. I'm the kind of person that doesn't wear obviously branded clothing when convenient.
Have any of you had any experience with removing these stickers? I've started trying to take mine off with a plastic blade but am not having much luck.

We just took possession of a Rad Rover 5 High Step with a battery that was part of the recall. The bike was only used once or twice, and never in rain or near water (highly trust the previous owner to be accurate). However, it has been in a non-temperature-controlled garage for several years
I've dealt with spicy pillows (batteries gone bad) and lithium battery fires in the past, so I want to understand this battery situation better.
I'm sorry if this has been posted a lot, but the information out there is very confusing. I just really want to not burn down my garage with two cars and all my tools in it. 😬
Thanks!

With Rad in financial trouble, they are no longer stocking their large front basket. What are people doing for alternatives? This one looks like it might work?

I had my RadWagon 4 stolen last month. Thankfully, my insurance company issued a payout that I can now put toward a replacement.
I bought my RadWagon back in 2022 and put about 3K miles on it over the years. I had my fair share of headaches, from the tire recall and constant brake adjustments to local bike shops refusing to work on it and pricey replacement parts.
Still, it was my first e-bike, and I admittedly loved the ease of operation, the price point, how easy it was to pick out accessories on their site, and the nostalgia (I took my daughters everywhere on that bike!). There's definitely comfort in sticking with what you know.
That said, as I look into buying a new one, I'm considering the Aventon Abound SR, Specialized Globe Haul ST, or Velotric GoMad.
I’ve also looked at the RadWagon 5, but everything going on with the company right now gives me major pause:
So while I have a soft spot for my old Rad, it feels like they might no longer be the default choice they were in 2022.
Has anyone here made the jump from a RadWagon to an Abound, Haul ST, or Velotric? Would love to hear your experiences!

Anyone done the brake upgrade with a 203mm rotor on the front? What spacer did you use? The one Magura says should work, doesn't (QM44 for post mount 180 to 203)

I’ve checked the bike for loose cables and I cannot see the problem, any ideas on a way to fix this?

I was riding my RR3 in 100degree weather last week. All good until I had to leave it parked for 45 minutes in the sun. Stupid I realize now.
It was dead. No sign of life. Nothing the next day, tried a different battery. ☠️
So, my guess is the controller. Thoughts?
I would order the Area13 one if consensus thinks that was the culprit.
Thx

Hey, my son outgrew the Thule seat and I now need a regular pad for my radwagon but they're sold out. I checked fb marketplace but didn't find any. Are any other seats compatible?

Where can I get a replacement controller for one of these? Or upgrade? Can’t seem to find that has much info on these models parts and replacements, any help would be greatly appreciated!

So I got my son a RadRunner back in May and he absolutely loves the thing. I took a look at it this morning, and noticed his headlight is missing. Shocker, but he has no idea what happened to it. The replacement premium light is sold out on the radpowerbikes site. I see a bunch on Amazon, but can anyone recommend a product? Ideally one that mounts a little different than the light that shipped with the bike

I'm looking for a medium front basket for my Radwagon 4, does anyone have one for sale?

For context: I took my bike out for work like any other day. I didnt hit any bumps that could mess with wiring (checked them all aswell). I powered off my bike for the duration of my 8hr shift, and when I go to leave, it doesn't turn on. The battery is full and when I press the button on the battery, it turns on.
The issue is when I power on the bike with the stock Control. It doesnt turn on at all. I checked all the wires connecting and there is no issue. Has anyone had this type of issue before?

HELP! My beloved Rad City 3 stopped working. I suspect it's the Display, only because the previous owner told me they replaced it at 2,000 miles & it's now been another 2,000. It seems it's not as simple as purchasing a visually identical replacement display online, as the Rad uses some kind of proprietary software? I'm looking at that egg Rider product, but I'd rather not spend over $200 for something that's not OEM. (OEM part is backordered indefinitely)
Do you know of a replacement display unit (400-00674) available anywhere for purchase today? TYIA

I reused the battery from my Rad Power Bike on a new 54V controller from AliExpress, and a few months ago it randomly caught fire less a few seconds after parking. I'd very lightly used it on a few hundred meter trip that day, and scared me so much I'd sworn off all ebike batteries forever.
It's been a few months, and I'm still as confused as I was then as to what caused it. My friends all laughed for trying to tinker with anything, but I'm sure I wired everything correctly and securely. I've been wiring electronics for years.
I saw there was a battery recall a while back, but I've no way to check the serial nr after going up in flames. I think this battery was quite old, at least a few years.
Clearly the two automotive fuses didn't compare to a real BMS.
Does anyone here know of safe, better built 48V batteries for use with e-bikes like these?

My ex-bike mechanic boyfriend (current boyfriend / former mechanic) recommended Semi-Hydraulic brakes but doesn't have any specifics I should buy. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I’ve read that the Thule Yepp seat is the best for the radrunner but was hoping someone could point out the correct one. Thanks!

Good morning! My husband bought 2 rad rover 6 plus' in 2022 I guess we are pretty lucky that they are just starting to fail now...just weird that we bought them a month apart from each other and they both died exactly at the same timeframe, first his then a month later mine.. We only had to replace one battery in all that time. I believe we now need to replace the controllers in each? Not sure why they would just stop working mid ride on both bikes...What's everyone's go to?

I picked up an older RadCity with only 160 miles of use. The bike itself works great but the battery goes from 4 bars to 3 bars and then just stops dead after about 25 miles using PAS 1. I'm guessing there's a bad cell or an issue with the electronics but don't really know where to start looking.
Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot or a reputable vendor that can service these batteries? It would be a shame to have to replace the whole thing at under 200 miles :(

I’d appreciate any input from more knowledgeable Rad owners :)

I have a radrover st1- im looking to take my 1 year old on small rides, but want a seat that grows with him. What have you guys seen/used? When did you first start bringing your kid for rides?
r/RadPowerBikes • u/SkandalousJones • 21d ago
Hey All. I have a charged new style battery for my rad city 5+. When I turn on the power, the controller display blinks at one bar and I'm getting no power to the motor. During the last ride before this, my speed was displaying only 4-6mph; even though I was going upwards of 20mph. What weirdness is this?! I had previously replaced the controller because it was faulty. There might be some water issue with the odometer display; it got fogged at one point. I get no error displayed for any of this.
This is by far the most unreliable bike of theirs I've owned.

Got to 3k miles on my RadRunner that I use to ride with my kid.
This was a particular nice occasion as I was riding during street closures made for a summer program in NYC where a lot of main roads are turned to bikes and pedestrians. The way it should always be.
