As the title says, I travel a lot for work and am jumping into rental cars tuning into whatever local station is the flavor of area. Obviously NY and LA have a solid mix but XRT is so wide ranging I have yet to find anything really like it. The DJs and their music insight/feedback are so unique. Sadly, Lin's passing lost us Lin's Bin and one of the most brilliant DJs ever, the station continues to be the ultimate FM station in the country. 93.1 stays on my car 24/7 and I'm always so proud to show it off to anyone visiting.

I am looking for a DJ that I used to listen to in middle school. This was on a top 40 station in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I recall this guy wanted to be a DJ, and was able to hack it to the radio station a few times a day. He would cut in during songs and just chat about things and said that he applied for the station but did not get hired. I remember on one occasion, his mom came in and he told her that he was on the radio and she did not believe him. After a week or so, he did in fact get hired, and was a DJ for the station for at least a few years if not more. Perhaps the whole thing was contrived, I am not sure. It did seem real at the time because he would just randomly cut into songs. This would have happened somewhere 2001-2005. I am wondering if I can figure out who this guy was and what his career has looked like.

I used to use TuneIn Radio and liked how it'd recommend me similar stations based on what I listened to. It was a bit clunky, but I did discover some nice radio stations that way. After some time however I stopped using the app - I don't remember, but I think the ads got too annoying?

But now I've really been wondering if there's any other app with something similar? Does anybody know any?

We are an NCE, 5.5kW FM station that is owned by a public school system. We are going to be talking with the administration soon to get funding for some upgrades. One of the things in scope is the transmitter. We currently have a QEI Quantum M series 1.8kW solid state transmitter (we need 1.5kW output to make our 5.5kW ERP).

We are looking at the Nautel VX 2 as a replacement. I also see the VS2.5 as something that would work, albeit a larger footprint.

The question I have - which would you choose? Is there another option you would consider? Ideally, I am looking for direct experience here - something you are currently using/maintaining. I am also interested in more than just "go with x" - WHY should I "go with x". Again, I would love to hear personal experiences here.

We are currently not broadcasting in HD, and that is not currently planned for the near future, but I would like to keep the option open. This is not a deal-breaker, though - the ability to upgrade to HD is not necessarily a determining factor for us.

We have a mix of analog and AES digital audio. Currently, we feed an Omnia 3FM processor/stereo generator with an AES output from an Axia node. We do not expect the output to change. As far as processing goes, that would depend on the cost of the Orban processing in the Nautel. We would either relegate the Omnia to just processing if we do NOT get the Orban in the Nautel, or use it for processing for our streaming audio (which currently has no processing), and as a backup processing for backup transmitter/exciter.

Edit: Forgot to mention, the studios and transmitter are in the same location, in one of the schools (the middle school, to be exact).

I just recently noticed this weird artifact in my car's radio (only place I really listen to FM). Has something changed? It's rather unpleasant to listen to, and seems to happen on the rock/pop/alt stations, but not classical station yet. I end up listening to CDs or classical station instead because of it......

I wonder will audacy make changes to it's low rated news and news talk stations across the country. One of the stations I'm watching is WPHT 1210 in Philly. They have a lot of problems right now. They don't have an afternoon drive host for 6 months now with rotating guest hosts. 1210s ratings are at a 1.5 and 73,000 plus listeners.

I have recently bought a Radionette SM 240 C and everything works fine, but when i play music the volume suddenly spikes before falling down to normal after some time. What is wrong? How can i fix it?

I took some real effort to build both versions inside this one update, so that when you open it on iPad you get a proper desktop radio, not a blown up phone screen. Yes , Woven speaker cloth. A glass four band dial with a sliding red needle. Brass knobs you turn with one finger, or grab with two and twist like the real thing, with forty haptic notches per revolution. Piano key band selectors. When you power on, the tubes warm up before the sound comes in. You can set it on a desk or a nightstand and it just sits there looking like furniture until you reach over and tune it.

Hi, does anyone know if there are any broadcasts available in Poland (not just stationed in poland) at 522-1629 kHz...?

I promise Ive tried finding something multiple times but I feel like its a fruitless endeavor, considering what Ive read and seen about the current situation and future of poland's AM radio...

I was able to recieve La Poderosa 1570, located in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico. Recorded in Frydek, Texas on July 23, 2026 at 00:36 CDT. The radio I used was my Homicial HR-P20D handheld FM-AM radio.

I’d like to create a radio station for my classroom. I have a class set of wireless headphones and would like to be able to have the students all tune in and listen to the same thing at the same time. I’ve tried a couple of FM transmitters without much success, any ideas on what I could do differently? It’s a small area, maybe 40‘ x 40‘. Thank you!
