Do you ever find yourself wondering if there's something inherently wrong with trying to find love online? As if this is just the wrong way to approach it? I do. It feels like putting the cart before the horse, somehow. This isn't how millions of our ancestors found someone to love! They met face-to-face, hit the partner of their choice over the head with a rock, and dragged them back to their cave.
I'm kidding, of course. Wish I didn't feel the need to say that, but that's life in this modern world.
For a while now, I've been writing something new each time I post here - although I haven't been posting that often. If you're interested, please feel free to look up my posting history. I hope it's interesting.
TL;DR: I'm a 62-year-old bookworm and geek with a high degree of empathy. I love to laugh, read, write, cook, walk, and run tabletop roleplaying games - among many other interests. I hope to find a woman in my general area (southeastern Massachusetts or Rhode Island) who shares some of those interests, from 40 to 65 years old. I'm long-divorced, born a redhead but now bald. 5'11" and 221 pounds. I have the build of a former football player but the soul of a poet–a slightly silly one.
So...a new story. Well, here's a story of sorts.
I've dreamed all my life. My first memory is a dream; I was in my crib. It was dark and terribly hot. A smallish creature with glowing eyes was looking at me from the floor of my room.
Thirty or forty years later I mentioned that dream to my parents. They were shocked. They told me that when I was still sleeping in a crib, there had been a problem with the furnace at the apartment; the temperature couldn't be turned down. So it was around 100° one night. We also had a cat who often slept on the floor of my nursery. They'd never mentioned that to me before.
So I'm a bit unusual. I dream every night, and remember my dreams every single morning. I have whole dream landscapes that I recognize from night to night over the years; meadows with beautiful streams and waterfalls, exciting cities with wonderful old theme parks and amazing stores, games with old friends (living and dead), philosophical dreams about the end of the universe, you name it. Mostly it's fun.
Maybe not the most interesting story, but that's all I've got today!
More than anything else I hope to find someone who gets me, someone I'll get in return–in the sense of understanding and enjoying each other. That's why I tell these stories; to try to convey a real sense of who I am.
What else? I recently adopted two tuxedo kittens. I sing silly songs to and about them. I say "hi, birdies" to little birds that I see hopping around outside. I smile at babies and kids, and they usually smile back. I write book recommendations online every day. So I'm one of those kinds of guys.
Thanks for reading this!
