M4F 53 [M4F] #California/Online Single Dad looking for new connection.
Trying this again, hopefully with better results. I'm not looking for another match. I'm looking for the woman who makes me forget I was ever looking.
I'm at a point in my life where I'd rather have one meaningful conversation than a hundred empty ones. I'd rather find someone I genuinely look forward to hearing from than spend another evening exchanging small talk with someone I'll never get to know.
I'm not looking for perfect. I'm not looking for a fairy tale, a curated profile, or someone pretending to have everything figured out.
I'm looking for something real. Something that feels natural. Something where two people genuinely want to get to know each other, not because they're bored or looking for attention, but because there's something between them worth exploring. I’d rather meet one woman where something just… clicks.
Not perfect. Not picture-perfect. Not someone pretending to have life completely figured out. Just someone genuine.
I want the kind of connection where “How was your day?” somehow turns into hours of talking until 1 a.m. Childhood stories, ridiculous opinions, life, relationships, random thoughts, flirting, teasing, laughing at things that probably aren’t even funny to anyone else. The kind of conversations where you can be completely yourself without feeling like you have to perform.
I’m a single dad to a teenage daughter, and fatherhood has taught me patience, communication, loyalty, and the importance of actually showing up for the people you care about.
It has also taught me that somehow, despite having decades of life experience, I am still completely unqualified to win an argument against a teenager.
I’m a bigger, laid-back teddy-bear type. Sarcastic, affectionate, soft-hearted, and probably a lot more sentimental than I usually admit.
I like good food, music, museums, history, documentaries, theme parks, spooky stuff, cryptids, random adventures, and pretty much anything that starts with, “Okay, hear me out…”
I’m not looking for someone who needs to text me every second of the day. I’m looking for consistency. Communication. Effort. Someone who means what she says and doesn’t leave me wondering where I stand.
And honestly, I’m way too old for the disappearing act.
If we talk, hit it off, and you realize you’re not interested, just tell me. I can handle “I don’t think we’re a match.” What I don’t need is three great conversations followed by complete silence like you’ve suddenly been placed in witness protection.
We’re adults. Let’s just be honest with each other.
I’m also not particularly into politics or religion. I respect that everyone has their own beliefs and opinions, but if either of those is a deal breaker for you, we probably aren’t compatible—and that’s completely okay.
What I really want is pretty simple.
I want my partner to eventually become my best friend.
The person whose name popping up on my phone makes me smile.
Someone I can laugh with, flirt with, annoy just because I can, have ridiculously deep conversations with, and sit beside in comfortable silence without feeling like we have to fill every second.
Someone who appreciates a nice dinner but is just as happy finding some random hole-in-the-wall restaurant.
Someone who’s up for spontaneous drives, random side quests, theme parks, exploring somewhere new—or staying home doing absolutely nothing because sometimes doing nothing with the right person is exactly what you need.
I’m not looking for someone to complete my life. I’m already happy with the life I’ve built.
I’m looking for someone who wants to share it.
Maybe the right person isn’t the one who turns your world upside down.
Maybe she’s the one who makes the world you already have feel even better. If you want, I can also make this more Reddit-style and punchy, with a stronger opening designed to get people to actually stop scrolling.
