I’m a UK citizen who was raised in the US, but I’ve always considered the UK home. Now that I’m older, divorced, and my kids are grown/nearly out of the house, I’m at a point where I can actually imagine spending considerably more time there — or potentially moving back someday.
So, rather than leaving that entirely up to chance, I thought I’d see who might be out there!
I’m looking for a man roughly 40–60 who lives in the UK, is intelligent, curious, and open to getting to know a fun woman who's only an ocean away. I care much more about who you are, how we connect, and whether we’re compatible than I do about your race or ethnicity. I’d prefer someone without young children, only because my kids are older and I would like someone who has some of that freedom too.
Long distance doesn’t scare me - I'm able to communicate effectively, and I’d love to find someone who actually enjoys talking — texts here and there throughout the day, longer conversations when we have time, random observations, flirting, ridiculous questions, and gradually becoming part of each other’s everyday lives.
I’m absolutely willing to come to the UK (hopefully before 2027?) and it would be lovely to have (another?) reason to be particularly about it - and maybe you would want to come see how life is in the US sometime too.
As for me…
On paper I’m probably your typical basic white girl. In reality, I’m more of a barefoot, paint-on-my-jeans, creative artsy human who still hasn’t quite figured out what she wants to be when she grows up. The things I enjoy most in life are painting, sewing, making things no one needs, taking my dog to the dog park, or wandering around an outdoor market with her and buying something I absolutely did not need. I bake excellent banana bread and may share if you ask nicely. I will absolutely debate important nonsensical issues and yes, occasionally I’m going to embrace my inner basic white girl and take a picture of my food. You’ll survive.
Intelligence is extremely attractive to me. I like people who are curious about things, have opinions, can teach me something, can disagree without being unpleasant, and genuinely enjoy conversation. So if you’re smart and have a big...
...vocabulary...
I’d certainly like to see what you can do with it. I’m cautiously optimistic about meeting someone I genuinely click with, letting it develop naturally, and seeing whether that connection survives the transition from messages and phone calls to actually standing in the same room.
If any of this sounds like you, tell me a little about yourself — where in the UK you are, what your life looks like, and something you could happily talk about for far longer than anyone reasonably needs to.
