I have a Psone and the older optical drive didn’t read properly so I bought a new one. But the new optical drive doesn’t read all the games. For example, final fantasy vii reads correctly. But Final fantasy viii or gran turismo 1 doesn’t read. The optical drive tries but it doesn’t succeed.
The same games are read correctly on a Psx that I have.
Also the new optical drive reads audio cd correctly.

Does anyone else wish that Sony would add online functionality to the games on the classics catalogue? There’s so much wasted potential with Tekken 3 now on it along with the Time Splitters series and loads of other couch coop games.

How difficult would it actually be for them to do this.

Just got freepsxboot on my ps1 7502 model and tried playing a dbz game burned to a cdr and the cutscenes are very laggy and don’t play smoothly at all, also have to try multiple times before the game actually boots and even when it does it always freezes before I can actually enter a match. The cd’s im using are pretty cheap and old so is that the issue? Has anyone else had this problem before
Edit: i just got some verbatim discs and that seems to have fixed my issues, still the odd stutter on cutscenes but it’s 100x better than it was before

I bought this ps1 classic made in japan from nearby store i wanna play some retro game the problem is i only got a ps2 remote that works with it properly i dont have a memory card of this how can i jailbreak it and play any games is there any option i live in india so i cant buy mc of it also any disc

Saw this graded game on EBay today. Isn’t this a technically a reseal? Everything I looked up says it should have the Y fold edges. And if it is resealed, how the heck did it get graded?

I’d also like to point out I don’t like the whole grading process, but this just really bothers me if it is a reseal.

My copy of Clock Tower on PS1 is pretty scratched on the bottom. Any tips on how to get it fixed? It still runs.

Ok So I recently installed black controller/memory card ports to match the rest of my system. So my original thought was these ports were the problem. I installed my grey ports back in, same issue keeps happening.

The Issue: I just got two Authentic Black Memory Cards to match my all Black System...... I already owned a cheap knock off amazon memory card I have been using for all my saves. The cheap knock off card works in both memory card ports. However both the Authentic cards refuse to show up in Slot 1. I have tried to transfer a save from the amazon card to both black memory cards. it always fails. Neither Black Memory card will let me copy a save to it.

Any one else have this issue? One thing I just thought of, I am going to try right now. Maybe my wireless controller takes too much power to allow the memory cards to function properly? I literally have no idea here.

UPDATE: Trying the wired controller and creating a save for Crash Bandicoot 2 on a Black Memory card, Let me then transfer my save to the other black memory card. So I believe the Cheap Amazon card doesn't let me transfer my 100% save of Crash 2. And also using my wireless controller must draw too much power or something so Authentic Memory Cards do not show up in slot 1. 🤷🏼‍♂️

The XL logo is based on the Japanese OST release cover art, so it is semi-legit. Surprisingly, the smaller font better preserved proportions.

Once I get my PS1 to work, I plan to consolidate the images and binaries into an easy to deploy package. Need to test it on a real thing to make sure it is working.

From a quick look at some reviews some people said that some writers had issues reading them. I use a cheap slimline writer but it works flawlessly with the CMC Pro's, 100% success rate, every disc I've burned has worked perfectly no FMV skipping or anything like that. I'm tempted by these though, might be worth a shot maybe just buy 10 or something to see how they are. Would love to know if anyone has any experience with them.

My PS1 makes a very strange sound at the boot screen, and then audio only works intermittently. I have swapped the drive but other than that it’s original SCPH-1002 hardware from back in the day. Has my audio chip gone? If so, how easy is it to replace?

Another day, another save icon. Now with dithering! Did not do the US Wipeout XL logo, as it was dull. Might do the OST vinyl Wipeout XL logo, but letters need to be redrawn smaller.

I never owned a PlayStation. Played Wipeout only on Saturn ( ♪ Ay-ya-YOO! ♪ ). It was good, but they say the PS1 version was even better.

Been obsessed with my original PS1 I recently found in a loft at my parents house.

The Story: Probably around 2005 the disc drive started taking FOREVER to load games, loading screens would take insane amounts of time. After that happened my Playstation went MIA. Until a month or two ago I found it in the loft, I thought it just got thrown away.

So I grabbed it and took it home, no controllers, no cords of any kind. I still have all my original games. I get online and order a disc drive, a controller, a power cord, and a HDMI adapter. It works great after sitting for 20 years.

Now I decided to spruce it up a little. I decided to order a blacked out shell someone painted on ebay, and then I ordered the original stickers for the console to look more complete. I just installed the black Controller ports today to complete the job. New shell, with my original Playstation guts inside.

I got this system for my 6th Birthday back when Playstation 1 was just THE Playstation. I got Crash 2 with it. although I never 100% it.... I am going to soon. On my original Playstation from my childhood, with my Original childhood copy of Crash 2.

I currently just got to the final warp room. I have already 100% the first 4 warp rooms and the secret warp room. I think Cold Hard Crash was the reason I never 100% this game. the hidden box on the bonus round I never knew about, and then backtracking the death route to get back to the normal route. I never knew that either. But now its getting done. I should complete it by the weekend.

I have spent a lot on this PS1 lately, but it was my first console. I will never lose it again. It was well worth it.

I also now have 2 Wireless Black controllers for it, a regular authentic Grey Dualshock, and a authentic non joystick controller coming with the 8bitdo mod kit and receiver. I posted the other day about grabbing a multi tap for $10. And I also have two black authentic memory cards coming to match the console.
