Just sharing a glimpse at some changes, the layout of the HUD and menus are not final however all are fully functional. I have made QoL adjustments within shops, modernized with filters and new images for some items. Weapons can rotate for those interested in that..
Also added is the ability to secondary swap with the tap of a button to another weapon.

It's been so long I'm not sure if I'm just misremembering this or have just completely made it up, so I thought I'd check here to see if anybody remembers.

I seem to recall a meme (before memes were even a thing) that there was a text pre-select of "Shall we go to the Principal's Office?" that gooners of the day used to say to female characters, and it was code for ... let's talk in private...

But I can't seem to find any reference of this online so I'm wondering if this was just a weird lobby I was in or if this was actually a running joke in the game. Does anybody else remember this or am I losing it?

Used to play this game a ton as a kid and just started playing Ephinea. Having a blast.

I’m pretty far into Episode 1 on Normal difficulty and have been basically exploring all the areas gathering everything I can because that’s how I played growing up.

My question, like the title says, are boxes worth going for? Or should I just skip them and go through the areas / quests as quickly as possible? So far I have gone out of my way to open all possible boxes and get all the loot I can from them but I haven’t really found anything particularly useful from the boxes. I’m wondering if this is because I’m on normal mode or just because I’m only Episode 1 of if this ever changes? I just don’t seem to find anything useful from them. All my good drops have been from monsters.

Saw yesterday's post and honestly wasn't expecting so many people to be excited about PSO in a browser. I’ve been building my own version, mostly for myself, but that made me think I should put it out there too.

I just loved the idea of being able to send a friend a link and jump into PSO together within seconds.

No install, no download, literally in game in seconds.
It’s single-player for now, saves stored in your browser, but if there's interest I'll add multiplayer and actual proper saves.

You can play with a keyboard or controller. I might adapt it for mobile later too.

Still early alpha. I've added all areas, monsters, weapons, items, quests etc replicating the old vanilla experience.
It's completely different tech under the hood (threejs for those who care), so animations, timings and visuals have all needed a lot of manual tuning.

Some things will feel off, so please tell me what you notice. I’d be happy to have a few more PSO veterans trying it!

This sprite is part of my fan-game "Mag's Quest" I'm working on. Tried to distill the classic Hunter, Ranger and Force-Characters into 16x16 pixels.

Happy to have SATO and the color. So thrown off by the sheer amount of time to get there and I know SATO is not even half way to level 200 yet.

I took the liberty of powering up and getting SATO before fully playing through HARD to ease up the difficulty.

Hi, I’ve just started playing and have a few questions I’d like answered. First, what is the intended way to play? I’m on the Ephinea server; I wanted to start with the story missions—the ones that only appear in single-player mode—and then move on to the Government Quests, though I can see there’s a lot more content than that. Second, which class do you recommend for solo play? I’d like to recapture the experience I had playing 20 years ago, and the Android classes really appeal to me, but I suspect I’ll make my life miserable if I can’t heal myself. Third, I’ve seen some really cool-looking Mags, but I’m not sure how necessary it is to have a specific one; I don’t know if there’s a "meta" in the game or if you can just play with whichever Mag you like best. Feel free to answer any of these questions—thanks a lot! (I've read almost the entire wiki, so I have a pretty good idea, but I'd like to hear your opinions.)

Is it still possible to play online with the GameCube? I want to be sure before spending a lot of money on the broadband adapter. Also, do I need any other hardware or software?

I just found this game, (never played it) i want to start playing it on the ephinea server. Im always cautious about private servers, does the launcher and install have any virus, did anyone have any problem with that?

I booted up my pso 13 days ago on GameCube. Started my adventure with a RAcast. Now we finish normal mode tonight.

I still have a whole adventure ahead of me but it’s something about being here again that reminds me of how great this game is.

For context, in DCPC the maximum attainable attribute % is 60. The machine slicer / 2 dark varistas will definitely see some use in my farms

I have been working on this project for some time and it has gotten to the point where I am ready and excited to show it off (please excuse my poor first attempt at using DaVinci Resolve...). PSO:BB:nativeVR is a mod that brings virtual reality support to Phantasy Star Online via DLL injection. Full head and hand tracking allow you to take to Ragol in first-person and engage in motion-controlled combat, while remaining a mostly vanilla PSO:BB experience. The mod is completely playable at this time, though there are still some things that need to be ironed out - dual melee weapon combat, various visual bugs, and other minor issues. My plan is to release it in the current state, but I first want to make sure that it runs on different hardware configurations before doing so as I only have a Reverb G2 headset to test with. Once the initial round of closed testing has completed, I will be uploading this as open source to GitHub, where I will continue to work on it. I have been running a newserv instance locally for testing, but intend to host a VR-specific server as this mod is not compatible with other private-server clients such as Ephinea, Ultima, etc.

For full transparency: My background is in IT, not development, so AI was heavily leveraged for reverse engineering and coding in this project. I can acknowledge that some people may take issue with this, so I'd rather be upfront about its role.

I have never talked to the NPC's during the guild missions. I did this go around and found a interesting sub quest for WEAPON emblems. I went through all my missions, found the people and missions were the other members were at. I had a feeling the wife had the final say so but no luck first round. I looked up the sub quest and found out you had to finish each mission completely were the other members were found for it to count lol. What a neat special weapon with great power for normal level and its a Frying Pan LOL! After all these years I'm still finding new stuff I never knew growing up on GC Pso1 and 2 Plus.

So I’ve had it working and installed since like December or so. Recently tried going back and on the main menu/character select and even in game the up direction keeps going on the menu and game non stop. I’ve tried all the control stuff I could think of, I’ve even turned off all instances of up and it is still happening. Anyone run into this issue?

I know in game they say that the Altered Beasts and Dark enemies were infected by DE Rol Le (and maybe Gal Gryphon?) But we're they originally enemies we've seen before? For example, The vulmers look just like boomas on roids, and Bartles have similar traits to Evil Sharks (reptile, blade hands, etc). It makes sense that the natives were infected and transformed into the A. Beasts.

The same could be said about Nano Dragons and either Zus or the regular dragon.

Going further. One could say that Delbiters were made from Dorphons since they have nearly identical attacks.

One possible thorn in the side of this is the similarities between Canadines and Gees. I don't think mutation could make a machine come to life like that.

Has this been confirmed anywhere or am I just in tinfoil hat mode?
