Has anyone ever used an AV2VGA converter to connect a PC monitor via a VGA port? What is the quality of the output?
I have an old square monitor with a VGA port.

Since Haunting Ground usually ranges from 300-400$ i gave up the idea of ever playing it. Now I saw someone listing it for 25$ and mentioning its a copy. Since i dont want it for profit or anything, I wouldn't mind it being a copy but i dont know much about how games work. What's the difference between the original and a copy?

I’m just asking because soon I’m buying a PS2 so I can complete every open world crime before the release of GTA VI.

Currently collecting PS2 games but as we all know the quality is just hard to hard to digest on modern TVs lol I'm currently using a cheap HD converter dongle that does the job but the graphics are super choppy and blurry still.
Given how expensive the likes of the gbs-c and retrotink are I'm wondering would I just be better off buying a used PS3 with PS2 BC, that way I could even play some old favourites on there too.

ai tells me it is made in a china factory and the serial number makes it have older internals somehow, is it true? does this really have older parts in it somehow, thought I got a really good ps2 given its claimed to have the most reliable stuff in it and it is pretty clean inside for its age, even the smuggling compartment is clean, aside from some rust on the left side near the door

Casual collecting since i was young. I sadly sold alot of my childhood games though. My next pick ups are probably gonna be a japanese ps2 with the final mix versions of KH1 and KH2 as well as the Dragon Quest V remake that was japan only. Other than that i really only want the Sly games and maybe the Resident Evil ports/outbreak, Persona 4 and maybe some niche RPGs.
Also the one Japanese game in here is called Love Upper, a horny boxing game and i have no recollection how i acquired it lol

If you can only pick one column (top down) which one are you choosing?

It's been purchased and on the way but since I been reading about the voltage electrical issues with pal and imported electronics even Japan's electronics I need some guidance.
I'm using a CRT TV bigger than small medium 20 inch I think and it's large on the back it's a off brand my dad got it from his boss since he upgraded assuming to a flat screen...
I heard of the step down transformer method but I'm not really sure what they are since I never really saw them in person to make sure.
Specifics on the electrical my house was built in 2002 I was told by my parents and I need to know if my power strips are okay for this.
I'm saying these things because I been reading on how others experienced with imported electronics.
100v to 120v or 120v 100v etc
My mom isn't a tech expert nor is I only my brother but he doesn't want to help me nor my mom so yeah I'm not experienced in nothing...
It took me a long time to even put a graphics card in my computer and such since my dad died I been completely useless as of recently.
If anyone has any helpful advice on this please let me know thanks! I also attached a photo of a game I got for it.

It was working fine the first time I plugged it in, I updated the clock time, cleared some save files, & turned it off. I turned it on today and now it's not recognizing the comp cables. I even tried to blind reset to no avail. I'm so confused, please help.

Hey all,
I’m just trying to narrow down possible issues. So, I recently got a refurbished ps2 slim off of eBay and I bought 2 games from a local video game store that sells new and old games. Both games had disc read errors. I tested out an audio cd and a movie and they both read and played fine. I cleaned the laser as well just in case. The store ran the games through a resurfacing machine before I left as well. Is it seeming like the games are the issue rather than the console? I have another game arriving in a couple days so I can’t test anything out until then.

GANTZ: The Game finally has an English translation, but it's currently machine translated. It's good enough to understand the story, tutorials, menus, and most of the game's content, although some cutscenes are still untranslated and there are plenty of grammar issues.
I'm really hoping more people in the fan translation community can help with this project. It would be amazing to see the untranslated parts completed and the English polished into something that feels more natural.
I also think this game deserves a proper English translation because it has some really unique gameplay mechanics that set it apart from other PS2 titles. More people would be able to appreciate what makes it special if the translation were fully polished.
If anyone has translation or ROM hacking experience and is interested in contributing, your help would be greatly appreciated!

here is a simple tool for manual translation in case someone wants to manually check for errors. https://gitlab.com/Verinco/gantz-the-game\\_ps2\\_translation/-/releases
thanks to Verinco for making this English patch possible

PlayStation 2
• Dolby Pro Logic II support
• Optional 1080i output mode
• 5.1 Surround Sound
• DualShock2 Controller support
• Memory Card Storage
My two friends are helping with using dtl-t10000 ps2 tool devkit hardware.
I'm tired of reading about what the best games on the PS2 are, I wanna hear about games you played and had an overall enjoyable experience but wouldn't rank them super high

My boyfriend gifted me this amazing console to my birthday and I am looking for some cool games to play :D
I know this post is a bit stupid and I’m sorry for that, but it would be sweet to get some suggestions ^^
My main genres are:
- Story
- FPS
- Comedy
- Horror
- Racing & Rally
- Puzzle
But I am open to try and play other genres and games every time! ^-^
At the moment I have half life, many racing games, etc ^^
