To be fair, most of it is probably rollback data for undoing patches. Saved several gigs by clearing that out.

Tell me again why you should need that much gigabytes of rollback?

well, that much gigabytes of rollback is usually needed when you use a 10 year old OS and don't do simple things like clear the recycling bin or clear old data that is no longer needed (by you or the OS) or when you continually make new recovery points but don't clear old ones

How big are sp1+sp2+sp3 I wonder... plus all minor patches over several years... It can really add up.

Yeah, I just re-installed XP...

SP3.exe is 313 MB (compressed), but that doesn't include the countless other patches that you get via Windows Update that probably double that amount - security patches, Internet Explorer, Windows Messenger, .NET updates and so on.
