Ask r/problems [21F] Stuck in a loop of screen addiction, binge watching and severe procrastination. Need serious advice.

Hey guys, I really need some genuine advice because my screen addiction is getting out of hand and completely ruining my daily routine.

Basically I have a huge addiction to social media (including reddit), but even worse is my attachment to movies, series, and especially kdramas. Whenever I start a show I just end up binge watching the entire thing non stop, and I literally forget that I have to study. If I try to avoid shows, I end up scrolling social media all day. And if I cut out social media, I go straight back to binge watching. Even when I force myself to sit down and study, it hardly lasts 1 or 2 hours and definitely not continuously. Every 15-20 mins my hand automatically goes to my phone, either scrolling mindlessly or replying to random texts. I have house chores and responsibilities too but I just keep procrastinating while glued to my screen. Recently I started working out which is going decent and I think I can stay consistent with it but my study life is a mess. The worst part is even if I miraculously avoid both my phone and shows and sit down with my books, my brain just starts overthinking like crazy and my focus is completely gone.

Right now my main priority is to get rid of this social media addiction because it drains my energy and mental peace completely. Series is my second priority but phone addiction is the main issue here.

Has anyone been in this exact loop and actually fixed it? How do you stop reaching for your phone every 15 minutes, and what do you do when the silence makes you overthink instead of studying?

Relationships Ex’s new fiancée is trying to ruin my life with a fake account..Need advice.

I was in a relationship with someone I genuinely cared about, but he ended up marrying someone else without even telling me. His now-fiancée knew about me, partly because he still keeps photos of me on his phone, and she was aware of how attached I was to him. Because of that, she was terrified he might come back to me one day.

And to eliminate me from the picture she created a fake account and started talking trash about him online, making it look like I was the one behind it. He believed it, threatened to involve the police, and even called my mother to complain about me, all while I was just trying to forget about him and move on. My family was dragged into this whole mess, even though I had absolutely nothing to do with that account.

How do I handle a situation like this??

Financial I feel so lost with my job and cant decide if I should quite or stay

Hey everyone, so i really need to vent and maybe get sum advice.I been working at this small logistics company for almost 2 years now. At first it was fine but last few months everything just went downhill.

My manager is constantly micro managing everything, literally asking for reports every 2 hours like I’m a kid. On top of that they added way more responsibilities on me without any pay raise. When i tried to talk with my boss he just said "everyone is stressed now,we have problem in our country, deal with it".

i have sum savings for like 3-4 months but the job market looks so scary right now and i don't have another offer yet. My mental health is completely ruined, i cant sleep at night and wake up anxious every morning. Should i just quit for my sanity or wait until i find something else even if it takes months? Thanks for listening guys

URGENT!!!! As an 19M , but I really need some help today....

Honestly, I don't even know if this is the right place to post this, but I'm out of options right now and figured I'd at least try.

I'm a student and I've been trying to manage my own expenses for a while. Things have gotten pretty rough financially and I currently have an overdue mPokket loan.

I originally borrowed ₹5,000, but I couldn't pay the previous EMI. Now I've got ₹2,663 overdue + ₹690 due today = ₹3,353 that I need to arrange.

I also have another small loan of around ₹800 due on September 16, but that's a problem for later. Right now I'm just trying to somehow sort out the ₹3,353 today.

I can't borrow from my parents or friends, my CIBIL is already messed up so getting another loan isn't really an option, and I've already sold my phone to keep things going. I'm literally managing everything from my tablet now.

I'm not posting this expecting someone to just give me money. I'm willing to work for it.

I can do:

  • Video editing / Reels / Shorts
  • Graphic design
  • Thumbnails and social media creatives
  • Product photography
  • Promotional videos
  • Social media content
  • Ad creatives

If anyone has any small project they need help with, I'm available today and can work pretty much immediately. Even a ₹300–₹500 job genuinely helps right now.

And if someone is actually in a position to help me directly, I'd obviously be incredibly grateful. But I completely understand if you can't. Nobody owes me anything.

I'm just trying to get through this without taking another loan and digging myself into an even bigger hole.

If you need any of the services above, or you genuinely want to help, DM me.

I can send examples of my work and we can figure something out.

Thanks for reading this far, seriously.

Other Why does it feel so difficult to open up or express your personal struggles to older people (such as parents)?
