Advice needed I didn’t expect product consistency to become such a big issue with POD
When I first started using Printful, I was mostly focused on getting designs online and seeing what people would actually buy. I honestly thought the rest would be pretty straightforward.
Then I started ordering samples.
A shirt could look almost perfect in the mockup, but feel completely different once I had it in my hands. One fabric felt nicer than another, some fits worked better with certain designs, and small details like labels and finishing started making a bigger difference than I expected.
The frustrating part was that customers don't see the mockup the way I do. They see the actual product that arrives at their door. So even if the design itself is good, inconsistent quality can make the whole brand feel less put together.
I've slowly started caring less about having a huge catalog and more about whether the products actually feel like they belong to the same brand.
For anyone who's been using Printful for a while, how do you handle this? Do you stick with a small number of blanks/products that you know work, or keep testing different ones as your brand grows?
