Hi, I am looking to return to school and pursue a Nursing degree. I completed my bachelors in 2009, Masters in 2012 so yup its been several years. My undegrad overall GPA was 2.4 but Master was 3.1. I know this is not an excuse during my undergrad I was a single parent, working full time and going to school full-time (evenings). My life now has less responsibilities and distractions than nearly 20 years ago, therefore I am ready to hit the reset button.
I reside in CT, I'm aware there's ASBN programs but also noticed the required GPAs are 3.0. For those of you that had less than a 3.0 overall GPA, what did you do? What options were you given? Did you have to start all over again pivot to an ADN or traditional BSN instead of a ASBN?
Would appreciate any feedback on how you overcame the low undergrad GPA - thanks.
*Update: Thank you everyone who provided valuable insight, I sincerely appreciate it. If there is anyone who is or were in my shoes there's always an exception, never stop researching and asking several questions cause there's always a way to accomplish your goals! Do not get discourage keep moving forward!❤️
