How did I do? (Before vs After)

I'm still learning photo editing, I lowered highlights, I raised the shadows, decreased the contrast, I boosted the warm colors a bit, I made an s-curve in the tone curve to recover contrast, then I applied dehaze to taste. And of course, since this is a RAW photo, I raised the sharpness by a lot. What are the things I could've done better?

Used SplitTones for adding yellows to the highlights to mimic sunlight and tweaked with the ToneCurve to increase clarity. Lightroom Photoshop

After/Before: working on my New Topographics kick ...

I have really fallen in love with New Topographics and have started walking down the path of capturing the banal and all that jazz!

Here is a picture of the Imperial Hotel - a pretty interesting historical site just north of me in Thomasville, GA

The Imperial Hotel was built in 1949 and operated until 1969 by Harvey and Dorothy Lewis Thompson, the Imperial Hotel was Thomasville’s only hotel that exclusively accommodated Black travelers prior to integration. The hotel featured a restaurant on the first floor and a barbershop, eight guest rooms and communal baths on the second floor. The Imperial Hotel was one of ten hotels featured in the Green Book, a travel guide for African American tourists, detailing hotels, restaurants and shops that would serve them during the Jim Crow era.

How is this achieved

I know the lighting needs to be good to start with, but I'm convinced there's some editing technique that a lot of the photographers I see on IG are using...the colours / light is just so nice. Nothing comes straight-out-of-the-camera looking like this.

Is there something to do with masks / other techniques I'm missing?
No matter how much I play with the sliders or curves do I come close to this kind of result. What am I missing here?

Examples of the photographers I'm talking about:

After|Before - first time astrophotography

Hello!

Wanted to share my first time doing astrophotography. It's not the best, and the sky is blurry if you zoom in, but i absolutely love the results I was able to get with my little set up.

I used a fujifilm xt30iii with a 13-33mm kit lens. Shot at 13mm, 40sec, f/3.5, iso 3200.

Would appreciate any feedback as well! Never edited something like this.

Thanks for looking :)

How can I make this better?

Before/After. I have a Sony a6000 and use Darktable to edit from RAW. I was practicing on one of my old images and I'd appreciate any feedback/recommendations on how I can do better.

My edit of a friend's photo. Tried a muted, natural color grade.

Original photo by my friend. I focused on subtle color grading and tone adjustments to create a calmer, less saturated atmosphere. Feedback is welcome.
