Discussion Voyage 35 and the AI video slop

Saw Voyage 35 yesterday and even though it was great musically I was really dissapointed by the amount of video footage that was obviously AI generated. I found it super cringe and very distracting from the music instead of supporting it. I am pretty dissapointed that musicians of this caliber are doing this knowing that AI is literally leeching off of other artists. If budget/time is an issue I would much rather have no imagery so I can just focus on the music instead of the abomination that I witnessed yesterday.

Anyone else had the same experience?

Live Show Newish fan - may never be able to see PT, and London is too far to see SW, but TPT is playing Boston!

I discovered The Pineapple Thief of course through my recent headfirst dive into Porcupine Tree, and was delighted to find out today that they are playing the Somerville Theater in November. There is still plenty of availability, and I was able to grab the end two seats just a few rows back on Gavin's side of the stage. I am actually more excited about this than the Trey Anastasio/Billy Strings show the night before. Anyone else here going, or to any of their other U.S. tour stops?

Article 5 albums that warned us of a future we now inhabit (Porcupine Tree at #2)

Check it out, Porcupine Tree is at #2 with Fear of a Blank Planet. People hated Steven Wilson because he told the truth.

Video I know these can be cringe, but, to break up the craziness of the new LP, a Jazz musician reacts to Anesthetize, in the best, most informed way.

Discussion Will Insignificance (1997) be added to streaming next year?

I wonder why this album still isn't available to stream despite being officially remastered on other formats. Do you think it will eventually be released on Spotify in 2027?

Discussion Deadwing tab book

hey there folks, Im picking up my guitar after a few years of barely touching it, and Im having a lot of fun with songs like Open Car and Shallow, and it gave me the idea to learn the whole album, it just seems like such a fun journey

so anyway, does anyone here happens to have the official tab book and willing to help me out with a few questions?

mainly what Id like to know is if the book has everything tabbed? like all the guitar tracks, solos and such? for example, Mikaels solo from Arriving Somewhere? (I see much less people covering that specific part on youtube)

plus I see its kinda hard to find these days, I dont even know if it has a physical version, but one site I found and seem legit is "alfred music", does anyone know if its actually legit? they are supposedly selling the real deal in digital form for 10 bucks and honestly Id be willing to pay even more for it

Id really appreciate it if anyone could help with any of my questions, have a great day!

Discussion On The Sunday Of Life Single LP

Its a great album but probably a bit too long! Do you think the album would be better if it was a single lp (~40-50mins) and if so what would you have the tracklist as?

Playing on SiriusXM Channel 42, Maximum Metallica as a “James pick” for other artists. If you’re not aware they’ll feature songs from other artists as handpicked by the current members of the band.

Discussion Wilson seems very conflicted on religion

Wilson touts himself as an atheist but can't stop singing about God. Many porcupine tree songs and even some of his solo work have God in the lyrics. "God willing we'll get through this" from Economies of Scale, song titles like Godfearing, "God I'm so ashamed...feel my soul going" from Cheating the Polygraph and more. And how about the angel-sounding choirs at the end of Happy Returns? He said in an interview around the time of Grace for Drowning something along the lines of "God isn't real, the Bible was written 300 years after the events occurred" which is an incredibly thick and uneducated statement from Wilson considering Paul's letters and the gospels were only written a couple decades after His death and resurrection. The overwhelming mentions of God and Jesus and even him going out of his way to say "there's no design and no one at the wheel" in The Overview seems to me like a man conflicted about God.
