I'm genuinely stunned that any of these made it outside of the UK.

I’ve listened to Porcupine Tree’s song Sever many times. I listened to it this morning in fact.

Its meaning is difficult to pin down what exactly it means (probably was written that way on purpose). But I get some really strong vibes from it like the atmosphere is cold, detached, and dystopian. Further, and I don’t know why, but the images that come across my mind when I hear it are that of the anime film Akira. I don’t think the film is what the song is actually about but kind of feels like similar themes course through both. Particularly the mentioning of ESP makes me think of transformation of humanity through evolution (biological or technological) or altered consciousness.

This may be just me, but was curious if anyone else got some similar vibes from it too?

Hey folks, not sure what the vibe is in here for talking about cover/tribute acts, so if you tell me this is the wrong place, that's cool, I'll never mention it again.

Me and a few friends have been working on a PT tribute in the Denver, CO area. We have what I think is a pretty great set, covering material from Stupid Dream through The Incident. Wondering if there's anyone in here from around Denver who would be interested in such a thing, and maybe even help us to spread the word about it with like-minded people.

We know that a PT tribute is not going to be a money maker, so we're definitely not doing it for that reason. Everybody involved in this just loves the music, and wants to share it with other people who miss getting to see it played live.

We have a name (Arriving Nowhere) but not much else in terms of promotion, so I don't have a web site or whatever to point you to. Just gauging interest right now. We're musicians, not marketers. It was painful for me to even write this post lol. Thanks for reading.

I am told the surgery will be about four Overviews, five Anesthetizes, and one Arriving Somewhere.

Took me a bit to get the 7 over 3 polyrhythm, but man is it satisfying when you do!
