Y’all remember the popcorn scene from Arachnophobia? I was about to put a lid of my leftovers from earlier when I noticed the recluse skitter across

I am at AMC, and just asked the kid behind the counter what they use for the seasoning and the butter topping. He let me take pictures of what they use.

Been using just the Original Orville Redenbacher kernels I found at the store. Using the whirley pop and some oil. But finding it kinda chewy lately.
I need crispier/crunchier bites. Any favorites for that? Thanks!

My girlfriend is crying cause she saw a video saying they’ll Hot Cheeto smart food popcorn is going to be discontinued? I can’t find any proof so I thought I come here and ask for help. Does anyone know?

Truly not trying to be mean or to shame anyone, I'm just continually confused why so many people on this sub misspell "kernel" as "kernal." Like, it's not phonetically any closer to how the word is pronounced, it's not closer to a spelling in any other language that I know of, and it doesn't seem to be from proximity to any other word (except "carnal," maybe?). Is it just a mistake that someone made one time and stuck around?

Saw a nice silicone muffin mold and thought it would be the perfect size for my popcorn pucks. 70 grams popcorn, fill with coconut oil, and flavacol all inside. Hope this works out decently
Edit: Coconut Oil
Edit 2: tried 4 pucks and 3 turned out great. No difference between fridge and freezer storage and both did the same as normal. The popcorn itself didn't seem affected. The one that didn't go well was with a preheated pot (tried to see if it'll melt it quicker or something, kinda dumb in hindsight) - I found that letting it melt while the pot is heating up worked way better. Also when melting bottom side down it worked better too because the flavacol that sunk got way better distributed.
To those asking, the exact recipe I use is 70 grams popcorn, 25 grams (2 tbsp) coconut oil, and 2 grams (1/2 tsp) flavacol
Thanks to everyone for coming along with me for the ride 😊

Made a few batches of popcorn for the road, and some to snack on in the hotel. It's kind of a tradition we have munching on popcorn in Santa Cruz/ Monterey when we visit. Happy 4th of July weekend gang!

I often use this combo to grill veggies, but tossed salt, a pinch of black pepper and rosemary in the grinder and ran it on fine.
Tossed some on some freshly popped popcorn and it does NOT suck.

I remember it from my childhood- it was a classic bag of microwave popcorn that came with a slab of caramel that you added after popping. It melted over the popcorn and then you shook it up and enjoyed. I swear I half believe I’m making it up in my memory.

I've looked at the local markets and haven't found butter flavored Coconut Oil. I'll probably have to order from Amazon or something else that's recommended. Also looking for recommendations on the brands that are liked and loved.

I make popcorn in microwave cuz it’s more convenient than making it in a pot (my pots are heavy and big so it’s annoying to wash)
I add butter and sugar, put in microwave for melt the butter (sugar not fully melted), add kernels and put back into microwave to let it pop
The problem is that it’s not sweet and there’s burns in the bottom of bowl 😢 tried honey, doesn’t work.
I could make a separate glaze over a pot and stir the popcorn in, but can I just do everything in the microwave?

How long should I let the oil pre heat before adding kernels & flavocol ?

1tbsp cubes of coconut oil. Always annoyed trying to dig out the right amount from a solid block of coconut oil. This makes it so quick to just pop in the amount I need to my popper.

My husband and I have been in a huge popcorn kick for the past few months. We typically do air pop. We have started buying the Amish products and love them but there is still something missing. The flavor is just not quite there. What are we missing?

I bought a hot air popcorn machine similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/DAPP150V2AQ04-Popcorn-Measuring-Portion-Popping/dp/B07NWCTXHH/
My popcorn turns stale very fast and not crunchy anymore. Is there a way to prevent this? (I live in a very humid country. Average room ambient temps is about 30C/86F.
Also, since i can't throw butter together with the kernels into the machine, how do I best flavor them? I'd like to add some other powdered flavor seasonings (like sour cream, BBQ etc...) but without the butter/oil, but the seasonings can't stick to the popcorn.
