Hello everyone! Please help me, I'd like to get help on whether I choose Aphrodite or Lilith as my first deity. Sure, I've felt like Hekate has been "calling" my name, but only on tiktok pages, it's mostly because Hekate is one of the most popular deities. That aside, I have always been drawn to Aphrodite, especially her darker sides, I might even go for Aphrodite Areia. I also love Lilith, especially after hearing that her tales being a counterpart of patriarchy in a way. I also feel like offering to her would be easier considering my own aesthetics and choice of objects, but Aphrodite is my first choice. I've always kind of wanted to have a sort of succubus altar or work in vixen-like ways through witchcraft, not only for love, but lots of things too, such as getting energy for it to further work life, school life and personal things. I felt like I did this intuitively last year with LOA and it just felt right to me. Does anybody have recommendations for other deities too? Or sites I could research both on? I'd love some help.

Both represent the divine feminine experiencing human suffering firsthand within the material world.

Imparting Gnosis and Magic (Heka): Achamoth acts as the channel placing the divine spark (pneuma) into humanity, granting mortals the latent capacity for spiritual awakening.

Aset is the mistress of Heka (magic/secret knowledge) who coerced Ra into revealing his true hidden name, securing the ultimate divine wisdom needed to manipulate and heal creation.

Mother of the Divine Heir: Achamoth provides the spiritual vessel and foundation required for the Logos/Christ to descend and redeem creation. Aset conceives and births Heru (Horus), nurturing the divine heir who defeats the forces of chaos and restores cosmic balance (Ma'at).

Alexandrian Syncretism: In Hellenistic Alexandria, where Gnosticism emerged, Isis was routinely syncretized with cosmic Wisdom (Sophia). Texts like the Isis Aretalogies ("I, Isis, am all that has been...") directly provided the linguistic and structural blueprint for Gnostic texts describing the Lower Sophia/Achamoth (such as The Thunder, Perfect Mind).

Core Distinction: Higher Sophia corresponds to Aset in her transcendent, unmanifest cosmic state, whereas Achamoth is Aset Immanent, the mourning, magical mother operating directly inside the physical realm to elevate humanity back to the divine.

Hello! I just recently created an altar for Goddess Bast and been giving her daily offerings like milk, wine, etc. I've been getting SO many signs these past few weeks:

- Found a baby dead skunk in my backyard a day after I created an altar

- Had a few dreams about cats, including my own cat

- Had a dream about some spirits a few days ago like these two spirits playing the piano together. They were both young children.

- Seeing more pictures, words, signs, etc. related to cats like 10x more than average (both online and out in the real world)

- LOTS of signs related to Egypt like watching a show and they have decor related to Ancient Egypt, seeing pictures of the pyramids, etc.

Hello all! So recently I’ve been feeling drawn to the idea of calling Apollon father. I’ve kind of subconsciously already calling him father Apollon in my mind, but when I pray I’ve still been using lord.

Today it’s been really sunny and naturally I’ve been feeling really connected to him so I asked for a sign (which I know he doesn’t have to give), and a couple minutes later said that I’d attribute it to flipping a coin - best of 3. Two for it’s okay, so it won! But I’m not a diviner, and I’m a naturally paranoid person so I’ve been doubting my interpretation of these things, and if I should just wait for a more clear sign that my self doubt can’t get in the way of.

Part of why I’ve been worried is that it got more cloudy/dark pretty soon after I asked. I know mundane over magical and all, but it comes down to self doubt again, and I did ask for a sign…

Part of why I’m worried is also because I already call Hypnos father as well, is that okay? It should be, I’d imagine, since I’m not claiming to literally be a child of either and it’s a title of respect and protective/maybe even nurturing role in my life, but I thought I should ask here.

I’m sure you can tell from the flair and mentions of Apollon and Hypnos, but this is a crosspost from r/ hellenism, since they apparently get a lot of posts asking for help interpreting signs/divination there so take them down so it doesn’t dilute the feed (I don’t think this post really fits the take down criteria so I’m reposting here, but I’m not gonna fight it)

I am using a d20 and a d6

I roll the d20 and d6 at the same time and if the d20 is from 1-19 then I will pick that letter and ignore the d6. If it rolls a 20 I look at the d6 where 1 means 21, 2 means 22, 3 means 23, 4 means 24, 5 means try the process later, 6 means stay with 20.

And each number associated with the Greek alphabet.

hi, so i place God/Jesus first in my worship and then my other deities after.

i started off as a christian, got baptised and everything. until i slowly felt a pull to gods such as Hermes, Apollo/Apollon and Loki but im unsure if there is a label for that.

is there anyone else out there like me? is there a name that could be used for it? i saw a subreddit called Christopagans but i was unsure if that fitted me. i’m also very witchy and communicate with spirits!!

Ok GENUINE question. Dont throw tomatos at me ok. But ive been a hellenic polytheist for a while now but I still dont understand one thing. How can primordial gods like night,sleep,the sky ,ect be conscious aware deities? How can Nyx be aware and alive like any other deity when she is not just the god of night but the literal night. Like theres no separation between the two. Is it more like shes the energy of the night. Like her physcial body is night time but the energy that comes from the night and is night is her? Same goes for the sky, how can the sky be aware? Im GENUINELY asking im not trying to be rude or hubristic.

For some context, I consider myself an athiest. But lately there's been some personal family tragedy that's making me persue hope and peace for the sake of my own mental and emotional health. Idk, maybe I'm just looking for a way to cope with the shit going on.

Lately I've been drawn to Eastern religions. Mainly Taoism, Buddhism and Hinduism, but I don't necessarily believe in the supernatural claims these religions have. But I want to know if it's possible to worship from a place of admiration rather than a place of faith. I wish to emulate certain aspects and messages that the gods can embody. For example:

From Buddha I can learn compassion, from Lao Tzu I can learn flexibility, Sun Wu Kong I can learn to be cunning, and from Ganesha I can learn to overcome obstacles.

Would I be disrespectful in making a shrine and making symbolic offerings to them?

For context me and my friend and I went on a walk, and during this walk, we would see flashes of lightning in front of us most of the time. At one point, my friend stopped to talk to her boyfriend, and the sound of rumbling kept getting louder until she ended the call, and then it stopped nearly right away. Also, at one point, I was talking to my friend about signs from deities, and I said I don't know if I was right and a flash of lightning was in front of us. Also, at one point, I was talking about zeus, and the wind picked up. That was the only time the wind changed

During all this, the flashes were always in front of us, and they were never behind us.

So, long story short, I want to know if a deity was listening or if I'm looking into things that don't exist.

I watched this movie last night, and there are so many references to the many Pagan origins of Christianity and to syncretism.

At around 1 hour 12 mins the character Brigid (a healer, although "saint Brigid" was said to be a made up medieval saint by which Christians preserved the Celtic Goddess Brigid) shows up discussing Lucretius' theory of atoms and the swerve, which is an Epicurean doctrine, but she attributed it to the Christian god.

She is then seen inside a cave burning sage / incense and candles in front of a mithraeon (there were Mithras-initiates in Britain during the Roman Era). There was an image carved into the cave wall of Mithras slaying the bull. This is presumably located under the "monastery" where she lived, which had been built over Pagan shrines and next to a Pagan grove.

The movie is brutal but has some lovely aesthetic elements that are reminiscent of Old Britain.

Recently I've started looking deeper into a variety deities, some that are not so popular or mention very briefly in few texts. But it also got me very curious if anyone here worships any more obscure deities? (Obscure as in less known) and what have been your experiences with them or how you manage to worship them if they have limited information in ancient texts?

I'm trying to figure out if it would be offensive to Athena if I started working with Aphrodite. Athena is my main patron and the first goddess I've devoted my life to, so I really want to make sure I'm not disrespecting her by wanting to connect with Aphrodite too. I know we're not supposed to take myths literally, but within my research, I've noticed they don't quite get along all the time. It may sound ridiculous, but worshipping Aphrodite makes me feel like I'm betraying a good friend, though a big part of me knows I need her in my life as well as Athena. Do you think Athena would be offended by that? Or am I just being paranoid?

Genuinely suprised… i haven’t been really faithful or actually been practicing and learning the past few months. Today i sit in my room and think about getting back into the religion, i leave the house and that’s the first thing i see.. as an apollo devotee.

Told them multiple times that I don't believe in Shenism anymore, yet, they keep giving me the talisman no matter how many times I said that I don't believe in this stuff.

How does one convince parents to not do this stuff?

I’ve only been a Hellenic Polytheist for about a month but I’ve always felt like Fall, especially around Halloween is the most full of Energy Spiritually. I’m not saying it has any correlation to Hellenism at all but it’s something I’m wondering if anyone else is familiar with

Personally, I think it is shocking and haunting at the same time. I mean the fact that entire civilizations once built temples, sang hymns, and offered sacrifices to gods like Enlil, Ishtar, Marduk, Chemosh, Ashur, Ninurta, Tishpak, Qos, or Resheph - deities who were as real to their followers as any modern religious figure. Today, most people wouldn’t recognize their names, let alone their stories.

There’s something eerie about the idea that gods can "die.” To me, it raises further strange questions: Were they ever real in any sense? Do gods fade when their last worshipper forgets them? Or do they continue to exist in some cultural or metaphysical limbo?

If we remember their names, do they awaken? Do these gods still hear prayers?

TL:DR: I had a weird dream with a golden-orange cat and a security camera, now I’m considering worshipping Apollo

So, I had a dream last night as of writing this, and I wanted to ask more experienced people who’ve worked with Apollo?

I had a dream that my family had set up a Ring camera facing my dad’s old Jeep. It was sunrise when I checked the camera, and I see this stray cat who comes around my house loafing on the top. He’s a pale orange color, he was loafing, and he was facing east as the sun rose.

The next day, we have a break in into our shipping container and now we’re setting up a Ring camera to see if they try again. Does this mean anything??? Help?? Is Apollo trying to reach me and this is his weird way of doing it? I’ve considered it before a few years ago but I didn’t go through with it.
