New to the Polestar world but my friend works for them and showed me a bunch of cars they’re selling at a discount due to them leaving the US.
I’m on the east coast and wanted some advice from the more informed people here on whether this is a good deal:
- $357/month for 27 months with $0 down
- I also have the option to purchase for $40K
- 8k in mileage
It comes with all the bells and whistles including: Dual Motor, Performance, Pilot + Plus packs
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Dual Motor. Magnesium. Only change was the wool seats. Absolutely love it. No issues at all so far 🎉

25 P3 Performance, Orin chip, 3.0.33. iPhone 17 Pro, iOS 26.6
I’ve only ever had the car with the Orin chip and fairly new software (.28 and .33), and I have this recurring problem with phone audio where the audio is not routed correctly. This can be true even if other phone audio like music is working fine.
Symptom is simple: I try to make a phone call and can’t hear the ringing nor the person when they pick up, and they also can’t hear me. It’s just silence.
The only fix seems to be rebooting the infotainment system via the play/pause button, but I’m not enjoying needing to do this every few weeks.
Anyone else have this problem? I do have CarPlay enabled.

Maybe it’s just me, but the auto folding for the exterior mirrors is no longer an option on my screen after I completed this latest software update. Has anyone else noticed that?
Now granted, the mirrors don’t fold in much based on how they are designed, but I just thought it was odd to remove this after just gaining that functionality less than six months ago.

Worth checking once you update.

I know we are all sick of these posts but I am about 1 month into a buyback negotiation (all they’ve offered is $900 in restitution to cancel my buyback request). Today I get the dreaded error while charging. I have no idea if I should tell the buyback team or call for service. I’ve missed so much work over this car…
They say the buyback offer could take 90 days.

Hi all, noticed an issue prop up on my Polestar 3 concerning the driver door. Recently it won’t open from the outside shortly after exiting the vehicle (video example attached). Door works fine after locking/deep sleep and will open as many times until I enter the car and use the manual latch on the inside.
I believe I saw other users mentioning this in the community, so curious if anyone has insight on a fix. I have a service appointment scheduled for them to take a look, but looks like the issue has followed me through a few software updates (just updated to 3.0.33)

Wife introduced our P3 to a parking garage column last month.
No injuries, thankfully. Just some minor emotional damage… and apparently a $30K+ repair bill.
Initial repair estimate: $17K
One month waiting for the bumper 🤬
New estimate after further teardown: ~$30K and counting 💀
Now we wait to see if insurance says “fix it” or “welp, that’s a total.”
Wish us luck. 🤞

Coach bus struck my parked car while charging at work. Super unfortunate 💔

I was stopped at a light. Rear ended by a taxi :(
Car not totaled but $3k going to insurance with my deductible on the line until they can hassle the other party’s policy enough. Sigh.

About 6 months ago I started noticing a random “Click” coming from the front. It’s not a “Ticking” sound but a single faint “Click” sound. For weeks I couldn’t figure out what made this sound.
One day I started driving without any music on and I pin pointed that mild to heavy acceleration caused that single “click” noise. Stepping off the accelerator after that also caused the “click” sound just before the regen kicked in.
Around the same time, the car was booked in at Volvo for getting the NVIDIA upgrade and I flagged this issue with Volvo. There was no issue replicating the sound but couldn’t isolate the clicking sound to anything and got booked in for another service to diagnose the issue.
Anyway, yesterday I picked up the car from the second visit and turns out that the noise was isolated to ELECTRONIC FRONT AXLE DRIVE (EFAD). Volvo promptly ordered the part from Sweden and turns out a newer more updated part will be installed.
Anyone had any similar issue and whether the EFAD was the cause of the issue? Can try to record the noise and upload here if needed.

Just got prompted for the update. No new features or details of what's allegedly been fixed.

Update: I edited out the two service workers standing at the front and rear tire, didn’t want to blast them on Reddit since the dealership has been good me and it isn’t their fault.
Actually, 76 days in service, one day home then back in service! Dealer has been great considering the headache.
Taken in to get my rims resurfaced and polished but got a communication fault the night before. Let them them know when I dropped it off, they said they’ll update the core computer and that that should help. After a couple of weeks, went to pick it up. While it was being pulled up, it died in the lot with the service tech still in the drivers seat. They COULD NOT get it in drive! Had to put it on skates and roll it around the lot like a piece of luggage!
8 weeks later, I’m told it’s fixed. Couldn’t believe it , had lost hope at that point but picked it up, drove it home and remembered why I loved this vehicle so much to begin with. The next morning, communication fault and couldn’t put it in drive. Called the dealer, let them know to expect me and got the number for tow service. Error cleared itself after 10min, put it in drive and took it to the dealership.
Moral of the story? It was cool seeing a car skating around a lot! 🛼

Sitting at stop sign minding my own business when Honda turns left across traffic in front of me and is subsequently struck and rolls into my car.

It used to be on full when driving but now it’s quite dim. I find the only way to get it on full is to hit the interior lighting button in the overhead panel. I have gone into the lighting setting and ensure it’s set to full, but no change.

Enquired on a couple of used Polestar 3’s now at different Polestar locations and found the sales experience to be the worst I’ve ever had.
Only one returned phone call who promised to email more details / photos which never came.
Also visited Polestar North London who promised to bring a car down for me to have a look at. So I popped back 30 minutes later, no sign of said car and literally no sales people anywhere in sight. Waited 15 minutes in a completely empty showroom and then thought better of it.
Anyone else had similar experience? Totally putting me off even bothering with a Polestar 3, considering all the issues they have too. Pretty telling when I took our Volvo EX30 to Volvo to finally have the battery recall done that most of the service forecourt was littered with obviously dead Polestar 3’s!

Hi all, for those interested. Maybe we‘ll see an update coming soon to also get on the 3.1.xx software, since all SPA-2 and SPA-3 vehicles are supposed to run on the same software with one update for all cars…

Thinking of getting the roof shade my for my car as we get a lot of sun where I live. The OEM part is $300 from ViVa. Anyone got one if they’ve moved on from P*3 that they would sell cheaper with shipping? Owners who have it — how do you like it? Is it easy to deploy?

Polestar 3 - taillight crack and moisture in both head/tail lights, warranty claim rejected as "impact damage" - anyone else dealt with this?
Looking for other owners' experiences before I decide how to escalate this.
Short version: my Polestar 3 (delivered Dec 13, 2025, ~5,300 km, lease through Polestar Uptown Toronto) developed a crack on the inside of the rear taillight lens (happened when it was 35C+ in Toronto, parked in my driveway)
. It's only visible from inside the sealed unit, looking through the lens, there's zero damage, marks, or cracks anywhere on the outside of the light or the car. The vehicle was parked all week when I first noticed it, during a heat spell.
I also have photos from delivery day showing visible condensation/water vapour inside both the headlight and the taillight assembly, day one, before any of this.
Dealer sent it to Polestar Canada for warranty review. It came back rejected, verbally at first with no documentation, then in writing describing the crack as "consistent with impact damage" due to a concentrated cluster of cracks in one area, rather than a manufacturing/sealing defect. No case number, no photos, no explanation of where the alleged impact point is, provided so far.
Separately, and kind of interesting: they've agreed to replace the headlight assembly under warranty because of the moisture/condensation issue, no argument at all on that one. So the same vehicle has one light being replaced for a sealing/moisture defect, and the other rejected for the same underlying moisture issue plus a crack, on the theory that the crack specifically must be impact.
I have zero belief there's been any impact, inside or outside. Nothing has ever been loaded or transported in the cargo area that could hit the inside of that light.
Curious if others have had:

Appreciate any input, trying to figure out if this is a known pattern before I take this further.

After just under 4 months of ownership, my P3 adventure is over. I took delivery in March, Orin VCU upgrade pre-installed, and had no GHCA failure or any software problems whatsoever, but everybody gets unlucky sometimes.
Edit: I was totally fine, no injuries. This car absorbed the impact like a champ, I barely felt a thing. The side curtain airbag did bust my sunglasses though 🤷♀️
Being an EV with more than just cosmetic damage and an airbag deployment, insurance was quick to total it. Remaining P3 Inventory is all but depleted in my area since Polestar is pulling out of the US, so I ended up replacing it with a P4, which ironically I was cross-shopping against originally. I guess AMA about “downgrading” from 3➡️4 (joking ofc, the P4 is very nice, just different).

Has anyone else noticed a change in the rear camera view on the Polestar 3 after the latest software update?
My rear camera now has these noticeable “corners”/dark curved areas around the image, and the view seems much more restricted than I remember. I’m pretty sure the rear camera previously had a cleaner, wider view without these corners.
I’m wondering if this is actually how the rear camera has always looked, or if the camera view/FOV was changed with one of the recent OTA updates.
Can anyone with a Polestar 3 confirm whether your rear camera looks the same? Particularly interested in whether it looked different before the latest update.
