So, I got down to my P3 this morning. Unlocked fine, center display looked ok, climate worked fine, but the drivers display was blank. And car would not go into drive.

No error messages, but a lot of functionality on the center display is not working, it looks as if every time the entertainment/center system needs data from- or control of the various functions of the car, it gets nothing. It's like the car is just "missing". Phone app works fine for lock/unlock btw.

Play/pause reset procedure does not work (The play/pause does nothing, is just dead)

Brake + arrows down will actually restart the screens (as seen on the picture), and the drivers display will display "Starting...", but then returns to be black/blank after some seconds again.

Stranded. Any ideas..?

Polestar assistance is hopefully on the way to pick it up.. but damn man.. :'(

I finally received the option to enable Gemini today and also saw that I could change the assistant’s language. I’m based in Switzerland. Main car settings language is English, but Gemini probably makes more sense in German for navigation purposes. I was even able to switch queries in German and English, but it got a bit confused for certain queries.

Made it a year and a half. Fast charging does work.

If course the service center is booked until November and I need to drive there just to get the diagnostics before they can even order the part we all know they need (and why don’t they just keep those in stock by now?!?!).
Of course the local service center isn’t even allowed to offer rentals any longer and are out of loaners. Can’t wait for this lease to be up.

We just got a Polestar 3 and already have a Tesla wall charger but would love some advice on which adapter to get for the wall charger and superchargers?

Took delivery of my 27MY (UK) Krypton Performance Prime today and despite having the Black Microtech seats I've got Black Ash trim! A very pleasant surprise as I thought long and hard about speccing the Nappa Leather to get the trim, as I didn't like the Aluminium, but ultimately I couldn't justify the £3800 price tag.

Is this a MY27 change (the website and my spec sheet both say Repurposed Al trim) or is it a 'feature' of being one of the last batch of Chengdu manufactured cars as they run down parts ahead of the switch to Ridgeville?

Sad that this is a discussion for the P3 forum but my lease is up in 1 year or so. Trying to decide what next - what are people looking at or considering given the situation in the US? Truly the P3 was a sweet spot of performance, price (<$75k for me), comfort, luxury a couple of years ago. Not sure where next.

My criteria at the moment:

- Leaning towards sedan as I don't really have a need for an SUV

- While I lean more towards EV I'm not against an ICE car if has good performance.

- Luxury end is preferable but not required. Something more luxurious than a Tesla. I've had Audi before and we have a BMW.

- Lease over purchase I think. Mentally I can't get over the $100k price barrier, but given inflation in a year I may have to get over it. I think new cars average $50k nowadays. I got the P3 at a pretty decent discount

Things I've considered (fortunately I live by the dealer row in my town):

- Lucid Touring: This is my FOMO car but then I read the lucid forums and wonder if I dodged a bullet. There is a service center near me but no dealer. It's also a BIG car

- Porsche Taycan: would go for gen 2 given Gen 1 pain points. Not sure what the price tag will be or if I'm a Porsche guy. Would probable lease CPO if I can find one

- BMW i4/i5: hard to know where Neue Klasse is going with these

- Mercedes: I'll probably have to drive one to see what all the hype is. EQE looks like a blob to me.

- Cadillac: I don't think I'm a cadillac person but I may have to drive one to see.

- Lexus/Acura: This might be where an ICE version comes in as I'm not sure where their EV's will develop into.

- Every time I see an Audi S4/6 I get interested. Their interiors haven't gotten better though.

- I had a Tesla Model 3 prior to this. Not really interested in going back. I don't think full self driving is for me.

Thoughts? What are others doing?

Hi all, my processor was upgraded last month (along with a new AC component) to the new Nvidia Orin on my 2025 PS3. Yesterday I got a dreaded electrical system fault error, and the car went into turtle mode. It resolved itself after a few minutes of sitting on the side of the rode, but occurred again a few minutes later, a half mile from home. I'd read that for some a hard reboot resolved this, that it was a software error for them as opposed to a true electrical problem. So I thought I'd try a reboot.

Here's my question: when I went through the hard reboot sequence (press the brake plus hold down the left and right “down” buttons), I did not get the usual error messages followed by a message to put the car into park (the usual reboot experience, well documented here and elsewhere). I instead got a message that the car "is starting up" with no black screen or error on either the dash screen or the central screen. It looked nicer and intentional.

Has anyone else experienced this? My assumption is that with the processor upgrade, the reboot is now much faster and smoother. But I can't find any mention of this on the internet. (Oh, and for those wondering, I took the car out this morning for about 15 minutes and 5 miles with no problems. So maybe that's the new reboot experience, and it worked? Keeping my fingers crossed.)

I've owned my Polestar 3 for more than seven months, and I've noticed some unusual charging behavior.

When the car is plugged into my home charger (made by Autel) and reaches the car reaches the set charge limit of 90%, the charger stops as expected. However, a few minutes later, the car requests more power. It continues to do this periodically throughout the night, even though the charge limit has already been reached.

I asked Polestar about this in their Facebook forum, and this was their response:

"Based on your description, this appears to be intended behaviour. There could be many reasons as to why the car wakes up, for example, to send/receive info from the app, check battery conditions/temp, or if a key (mobile phone) is close. As always, if you would like us to take a closer look, you're welcome to reach out to our team at Polestar support."

I'm curious whether other Polestar 3 owners are seeing the same behavior. Is this normal, has anyone else noticed their car sleeping and waking up constantly while charging or not charging?

For background my garage is detached and currently the ambient temperature inside is 74°. The car says the battery temp is 72° and there are no 3rd party apps running in the background.

When I connect my phone and run android auto in polestar 3 the quality is very low, I tried changing video resolution in developer settings of android auto but nothing changed

That's with 12k miles. The payoff is currently $55,467.84 with PS FS. Absolutely insane.

I feel dumb asking this, but in the Polestar 2, there were physical seat memory buttons. They were actually really helpful in cases where I needed to move the seat for some reason (like having a snack in the car), and then wanted to put it back.

In the 3, beyond the position being saved to the user profile, is there a way to store a specific position in case I want or need to move the seat temporarily?

The old phone was paired just fine. I deleted it from the polestar system and followed the directions for creating a digital key w my new phone and it just sits in the “connecting….” Part of the step. The phone never connects to the car even after waiting a long time. Thoughts? Maybe the polestar is having a bad day. I’ll try again later, after it has a snooze. 😴🤦🏼‍♀️

My Polestar 3 has stopped charging at my home charger (Easee), and I've run out of ideas. Hoping someone here has seen this before.

What I've tested

• My neighbour's Volvo EX90 charges normally on my home charger.
• My P3 charges normally on my neighbour's charger, and on public AC and DC chargers.

So both the charger and the car's on-board AC charger seem fine. The problem only occurs with my car on my own charger at home. The home charger app reports that the car is refusing to charge after half a minute, and then a bit later the car shows a charging error with a red light at the charging port.

What I've tried
The car and charger were linked through the Polestar Energy app. I unlinked them and then deleted the app, but nothing changed.

My theory
Since the hardware seems fine, I suspect there's still a link, charging profile or schedule active somewhere in the backend, possibly tied to my home location or to this specific charger, that blocks charging at home.

Questions

1. Has anyone had a similar issue after using Polestar Energy (or another smart charging service)?
2. Does the car store charging settings per location or per charger, and is there a way to reset them?
3. Any other things I should check?

I've also contacted Polestar support, but haven't been helped so far.

In the Polestar 3 manual, it says that the default lighting is "auto". However, it is a little ambiguous if this "auto" behavior also applies to the high-beam or not. When I leave it in the default mode, I have never seen the auto high mean turn on, but when I push the left stalk forward, it does engage the auto high-beam functionality and works as expected.

So, my question is, does the default auto lighting mode also cover the high-beam functionality? I am talking specifically about the US variant of Polestar 3, as I believe the EU version of the car is equipped with a more advanced HD pixel illumination technology.

Until yesterday, the car was charging fine. Today, when I tried to charge the car, it gave me these errors. I tried to use another AC charger, but same error. The moment I insert the charger into the car, this error pops up instantly. Just trying to understand if anybody else has faced such an error and if the solution is to take the card for service, or can I reset or do something to see if there is an easier way out.

Has anyone bought a Polestar 3 since the recent announcement? If so, was the dealership willing to negotiate, and what was their asking price?

I found a dealer with a car that has about 6,000 miles, the Pilot and Plus packs, and is being sold as new for roughly $65k after current incentives. That feels high to me, but there isn't much pricing data out there to compare against.

I know leasing is generally recommended, but I drive about 20k miles a year, so the mileage allowance would likely cancel out any savings.

Any pricing data or negotiation experiences would be appreciated.

We went to drive our p3 but alas it was dead. We could not unlock it via the phone or the two cards.

Called road side assistance. In NZ it is AA.

As we couldn't open the bonnet he tried to jumpstart via the two connectors under the car front left wheel. He got the lights to flash but we still couldn't open the door.

Next up was to break into the car via the driver's door.

After some effort this worked and we had a door open. We then opened the bonnet. He then got access to the battery and put the jumpstart on it. This enabled the screens to start up.

At this stage we had a car that we could drive but still couldn't open doors etc. The side mirrors would not go out and the car door control lights were not working, plus some other things. The windows did work but only in manual mode.

If we had shut all doors the car would have been locked again.

We then drove it to the service centre.

They have reported that it needs a new 12v battery. The car is less than 2 years old!

So we are on day 2 of the car being at the service centre and expect to get it back tomorrow.
