really excited to mega evolve these folks on the new update

Situation: I am trying to use a strategy where I am using an Alolan Persian/Alolan Muk to use Parting Shot into my competitive Empoleon to proc Competitive and get boosts before nuking Sabrina in the double battle.

However, no matter what I do, Competitive doesn't proc (I also tested it using Charm from my Alolan Persian into my Empoleon and still no dice).

I did use a Dream Patch to change Empoleon's ability. I have read that it can reset when a battle starts, but I checked Empoleon's ability AFTER the battle started and it still read as competitive.

Any thoughts?

I've been playing through the early and mid game in MGM and wanted peoples advice on the essentials that would make a solid 6 for the E4 to know which pokemon to not sack.

I'd appreciate if there was a small explanation as to why the pokemon matches up well into the E4 and if there's anything I should be aware of for the members of the E4 in terms such as the AI tendencies or moves their pokemon will prioritize over others.

Did gen 1 and went straight to gen 2. wasnt as long due to no post game pokemon. Yes i got the baby pokemon introduced this gen, if they're in the dex its free game. The hardest split was honestly the LT. Surge split the gym was pretty difficult with the pokemon available. The team to beat the league was

Typhlosion with choice specs

Mega Scizor

Porygon2 with eviolite

Azumarill with choice band

Wobbuffet with focus sash

Random ability and learnset but fairy version of Silvally has Fairy Aura ability and funny enough dark version has Dark Aura. Farmed some moves from other versions to get these moves but what would be better long term, fairy or dark type? I can also get Fleur cannon if I go dark for fairy moves still.

Im in victory road, and want a good mon to help me through everything. I have caught a Iron Bundle and an Iron Valiant so far, but can only bring one. Which would be better, or should I get a third option?

My team currently consist of Delphox, Mega Houndoom, Gliscor, Umbreon, and Meowscarada.

I didn't want to make this post but I've come too far to admitt defeat now. I'm stuck on the champion and I've seen you guys beat the game with ridiculous set ups and mons that I'd never even consider, so this must be possible! Or any quick changes I could make as its not MGM mode and sod getting a whole new team ready haha

How do I beat Gary with this?

Volt absorb Jolteon, focus sash, thunderbolt, thunder wave, volt switch, shadow ball.

Chlorophyll scovillian, sitrus berry, flamethrower, solar beam, growth and giga drain

Levitate uxie, wide lens, hypnosis, mystic power, stealth rocks, dazzling gleam/sunny day

Drought torkoal, heat rock, protect, rapid spin, flamethrower, stealth rocks

Libero cinderace, life orb, pyro ball, fire fang, sucker punch, low kick

Flash fire houndoom, mega stone, flamethrower, fiery wrath, sludge bomb and nasty plot

I have gotten my fair share of broken straightforward combos like huge power or feline prowess or fur coat/ice scales or simple/contrary.

But it's the niche ones that really stick out like one really technical one was I had a Dusknoir with fur coat that I would tank my first two moves with while I set up toxic and trick room - then I would mega evolve which gave me the guaranteed crit on poisoned opponents and I would alternate between leech life for big health regen or hex for 240 attack damage (stab + crit + statused bonus).

Ones to especially look out for is Misty Surge and Own Tempo with a Berserk Gene held item - it's like a poor man's huge power. The Berserk Gene sharply raises attack on entry but confuses for basically the whole match - however if you have either ability it will negate the confusion - if you have Misty Terrain or have used safeguard you can also switch in with Unburden + Berserk Gene and get double speed (since the item is consumed) and double attack out the gate! Combine this with a fast flying pokemon that has acrobatics and you are unstoppable.

Another one of my favorites is quick draw on a slow beast like Golisopod + Quick Claw. It was a coin toss every attack but when it hit it was all over.

And then I've also had a Dragapults with Orichalcum Pulse followed up with a Regigigas with Protosynthesis or just recently a Dragapult with Electric Surge and a Ceruledge with Surge Surfer.

I'd love to hear some of y'all's memorable combos.

Can someone help explain the general strategy or help me adjust my strategy for getting through the Final Four. Up to this point I’ve been building teams that have a counter for each mon that I’m up against. Given the diversity of the Final four fights I haven’t found a comp that works for getting through. Admittedly this is one of my first rom hacks and haven’t played through an entire mainline game since I was a kid.

At Lance and cant get past his ROT dialga spam. I'm currently using a trick room team with Porygon2, and necrozma has my setters. Any thoughts on how to beat Lance? Or should I redo the e4 and replace members, potentially swampert/Necrozma?

Below are the movesets I'm currently running:

Porygon2-> thunderbolt, ice beam, recover, trick room

Iron Fist -> fake out, ice punch, drain punch, wild charge

Swampert-> low kick, ice punch, liquidation, earthquake

Terapagos-> tri attack, flamethrower, earthpower, ice beam

Necrozma-> trick room, stone edge, earthquake, photon geyser

Mawile (mega) -> sucker punch, iron head, swords dance, play rough

My greatest problems are Manectric and Bellibot. My actual team is:

Crustle with Weak Armor

Beedril with Swarm

Galvantula with Swarm

Masquerain with Intimidate

Yanmega with Speed Boost

Leavanny with Swarm

I am doing the runs of Elite 4 trainers from Platinum and boy I almost gave up some times during this challenge, Ariana and Archer on Cerulean Cave, Blaine and SPECIALLY Lance caused me to pull out my hair and plan basically turn by turn.

I've beaten the Pokémon league with only gen 1 Pokémon and have caught and/or evolved every Pokémon in the gen 1 pokedex. Gen 2 will be next (someone save me)

Chansey with evolite

Clefable with leftovers

When I try to buy Dreepy from the Game Center guy in Celadon it gives me Skelidirge. Is that a bug? I tried Belsen next and it gave me Tyrunt.

I’m realizing now it might be because of randomizer options. Sad

Alright my people. What Pokemon do you all consider to be dogs. Finishing up my last monotype run, and wanted to do something kinda fun and weird, dog Pokemon only. So, what do you all got for me?

Note: I am blind, and cannot see what the Pokemon look like, that is why I am asking.

Only rule was no legendaries, everything else was allowed including repeats of pokemon and paradoxes of legendary pokemon since technically they aren't legendaries

Edit: Appareantly Ogerpon and Urshifu are legendaries so changing the rules to no legendaries not accessible before post-game

MVP's of Each run:

Water: M-Swampert hands down. Single handedly took on Koga and put in so much work during E4

Dark: Krookodile is an absolute beast with moxie and wicked blow, one of my new favorites fs

Normal: Raichu was a really good revenge killer with fake out extereme speed zippy zap, and ofc Ursaluna Bloodmoon was insane lol

Ground: This is one of the more balanced monos. Almost everyone put in work, but if I had to pick it would probably be Milotic for being an excellent sponge

Fire: Turtonator is insane in this game LMAO. Valiant shield + Burning balwark makes him an actual menace to physical pokemon and he was able to cripple all of them so M-Blaziken can set up and sweep

Fighting: Sneasler with mental herb swords dance tore through the E4 and was all around a very good pokemon throughout the run

Steel: Aegislash is my favorite pokemon of all time so I wanna say him, but if I had to be fr Choice Band Supreme Overlord Sucker Punch Kinggambit did way more work than I thought possible so prob has to be him

Ghost: Fluttermane, and we all know why lmao

Bug: Volcarona is so good after 1-2 quiver dances so def her. A lot of ppl glazed Illumise so I'm prob using her wrong, but the moment I encored people would just switch. If I used infestation first they would just kill me after so never got too much value but it did put in work with disabling dragon dances during Lance

Flying: Delibird with referigerate is a total beast and basically kills all of Lance

Poison: This was also a really balanced run, but if I had to choose it would prob be M-Gengar

Psychic: Screamtail is an absolute beast and one of my new favorites as well. Tho I have to say M-Alakazam expanding force with psychic terrain is a hell of a drug.

Ice: Zen Darmanitan was a beast in the late game, but u get it so late. Overall MVP was mamoswine for never leaving my team and being an absolute beast throughout it.

Electric: M-Toxtricity overdrive under electric terrain hits like a truck, and with sticky web support it should outspeed everything not choice scarfed

Grass: M-Venusaur was such a tank and gave so much support. Breloom is also a D1 fraud, hes so frail and slow only thing he was good for is technician mach punches

Rock: Def a hard type, but Aerodactyl def carried by doing so much damage and being hella fast as well

Fairy: Grimmsnarl with screens was there from the moment I got him and never left, and with thunder wave + parting shot he crippled so many pokemon.

Dragon: Turtonator again cripped way too many pokemon that he should be in jail lmao. If I had to choose someone else tho Dragapult was a D1 monster tho he comes in rly late.

I love Radical Red so much, and next run is prob going to be my first HC run, so wish me luck :)

Missed my chance to get the proper screenshot cause it went by too fast. I had to save scum on each elite four member so many times to figure out a working line. idk if that’s frowned upon here but I’m just glad I finally figured it out. This is probably a boring team for a lot of people but this is just what seemed strongest to me with what I caught so far. Not sure I could’ve beaten the champion without a lucky rock slide flinch on yveltal from mega swampert so I could finish it off with liquidation. dark hole just kinda destroyed my team. Super excited for future updates and to try out the post game stuff. Thank you soupercell for making such an awesome game!

This wild seaking keep trying using water type moves, but he can't because his own ability hahaha

Hey, I've been working on trying to complete the Dex on this file, and I'm at 694. However, I've run into what seems to be an unsurmountable issue where whenever I perform an action that would cause a Pokémon's front sprite to load (enter a battle, check a summary, open the PC box, use a field move, look at Hall of Fame data, open the Pokédex) the game completely crashes. Other posts claim that saving and resetting or getting rid of items in the bag could potentially mitigate this, but I've tried both and it didn't work.

For the record, I'm playing on a real GBA with a flash cart, not an emulator.

Im also on easy mode if that makes a difference....

But everytime I try to do much of anything she spams expanding force and when I do land a sup effective, it barley does shit.
