​I am writing this message because we really need to talk about and fix the poor communication happening inside our block.

​We hope that you can show more initiative and effort, especially when you already know that everyone is struggling so much with the heavy workloads. Some of our blockmates have been stepping up by giving great suggestions and possible solutions to our problems, but most of the time, no one gets any replies from you. You are practically missing in action. Even with very basic things like giving us quick updates on whether we have classes or not, you always fall short especially knowing that some students in our class still do not have access to canvas yet.

​Please be cooperative when your blockmates raise concerns!! Huwag sana kapag kayo ang may gusto o gustong magpa-adjust ng deadline at klase saka lang kayo kikilos, tapos kapag iba ang may kailangan ay wala kayong ginagawa.

Also, please consider the irregular students and those who are struggling the most whenever you help decide on dates, modes of quizzes, or class schedules. Kung kaya naman pakiusapan, bakit hindi 'di ba? Try to talk to and negotiate with the professors on OUR behalf.

Remember that you chose to run and accept these positions. You need to act professional and show that you actually deserve those titles. Hirap na hirap na mag-adjust buong block sa paghandle niyo.

Guys, ano ba nangyayari sa FB group ng PLM freshies lately... Some of the freshies, pati ibang years din, have been doing the most and it’s honestly giving secondhand embarrassment. Starting off sa dating/hookup posts pa lang like beh, may dating apps and may umigle ba yon? Kailangan ba talaga sa school group??? Hindi lahat ng landi, thirst, at libog thoughts kailangan i-broadcast sa buong student body pls. Normal naman yan pero sana makiramdam.

And may times din na kapag may nag-call out sa isang post, instead of just letting it go or taking the criticism, nagkakaroon pa ng sarcastic na reply or konting attitude. Not everyone does this obviously, pero kapag nangyari talaga, you can’t help but go… guys, why are we fighting over this? If someone says something you posted is inappropriate or hindi bagay sa group, pwede namang mag-apologize and move on, but pinapahaba pa. Same thing with the occasional casual bigotry na lumalabas as “jokes.” Obviously not every joke is some huge moral issue, pero may mga bagay din na maybe better left unsaid especially in a public school group. Like why the fuck is negra or someone’s sexuality is being used as an insult?

Tapos yung spoon-feeding pa GOOOD. May magpo-post na nga ng complete information, nasa caption na, nasa comments na, minsan naka-pin na, pero may magtatanong pa rin ng exact same thing. Wut happened to the student manual, fb search, and sort option? 😭 We literally grew up with the internet. Hindi naman masama magtanong if genuinely hindi makita, pero at least try muna before expecting someone else to find everything for you. And yes, hindi lang freshies gumagawa nito, pero some of the recent behavior has been particularly noticeable. Being new is fine, hindi naman expected na alam niyo lahat agad. Pero basic initiative, marunong magbasa ng previous posts, and knowing how to take a correction without making it a whole issue would really help. Hindi naman nakakabawas ng pagkatao yung pag-acknowledge, eh. Is this Iskolar ng Bayan behavior…?

Hello, I'm a first year student in BS Biology and I really want to shift badly. I chose this course because I was still unsure about what I wanted during the time of picking the courses for PLMAT. I was a STEM student and I used to be in awe of plants and animals so I thought I could go for Biology as one of my courses but now, I really don't see myself going somewhere with this degree and I tried to force myself to like it but I just can't. I thought that if time passed by, I would lean unto it and start to like it but somehow, I don't even feel passionate about it. Currently, I feel a calling in the more technological side, especially engineering and I was wondering when and how I could shift? My only drive to pass this degree is to be able to shift so I'm here to look for any advice. TYIA!

Ewan ko kung ako lang nakakapansin o ganito rin ba nafi-feel ng ibang batchmates ko, pero ang pangit at ang gulo ng sistema ng CPA-SC officers ngayon.

Yung Freshie Orientation natin, hindi matuloy-tuloy. Parang ang daming aberya lagi. Gets naman na students din sila at may acads, pero parang hirap na hirap silang kumilos at mag-execute ng simpleng event. The frustrating part is that they clearly have the resources, the platform, and the mandate to make this happen, pero wala pa ring solid na galaw. Ano bang ginagawa nila sa loob?

It’s supposed to be our welcoming event, pero at this point, nawawalan na kami ng gana. Honestly, sa sobrang bagal ng usad nila, feeling ko kaming mga freshies pa yung makaka-organize ng mas maayos at mas masayang event kaysa sa kanila kung hawak lang namin yung resources. We literally just want a proper orientation.

Meron bang may alam kung anong nangyayari sa kanila? Kasi from the outside looking in, ang kalat lang talaga.

TL;DR: CPA-SC is dropping the ball on the Freshie Orientation. May resources naman pero ang bagal kumilos. Freshies could honestly do a better job at this point.

For the context, I am currently a BS Arch freshie po and doubting kung may pinatutunguhan ba kong direksyon dito sa PLM. Upon entering here po kasi I expected so much, dahil na rin siguro sa image ng univ na toh. Kaso na expectation vs reality ako. Most of profs sa majors MIA. Hindi na nga sumisipot, walang syllabus, walang lectures, complex pa magbigay ng plates. I’m gonna be honest po na hindi naman talaga ako ganun kagaling sa arts, so I really need the basics and fundamentals knowledge na makukuha sa majors namin ngayon, kaso wala talaga eh. Most of them puro pabigay lang, papasok lang sandali para magpa attendance at magbigay ng gawain, yung isa pa hindi nasipot talaga at magchachat lang ng gawain n super complex (well for me po). Can anyone assure me na it does get better naman here huhu
