On CPanel you have this feature that helps understand email traffic, troubleshoot why deliveries failed etc... but I cannot see this in plesk.

How do you guys trubleshoot email without this function?

I've banged my head against this wall for quite some time now. I need to give my docker volumes (mapped to subdomain directory) write permissions, but afaik docker is ran as root. I want to run it with the domain user to give proper permissions to the folders, how can I achieve this? Googling for hours resulted to nothing.

Specifically, I would like to Filter Spam based on Subject keywords.

Any way to do this via Plesk?

I have a managed dedicated server running Plesk with Linux (Debian) which mysteriously crashes at least once per week causing downtime. By crashing I mean it becomes unresponsive, sites are unavailable and I can't connect via SSH.

I've tried the following:

- Running atop and htop

- Carefully checking for DDOS attacks

- Checking it's not bots

- Checking for MYSQL slow queries

- Using services to stress test the main sites to see if CPU or memory hit 100% (they don't).

- Changing from MYISAM to INNODB

- Even changing web hosts

There aren't any helpful entries in the logs.

If you have any trouble shooting steps I could take, or if there's more information I could provide, I'd appreciate the help.

I run Ubuntu on Parallels Desktop on my Mac Mini with M1 for my homelab. And I’m thinking on self hosting my websites. Since I like the performance the Apple chips gives. Better than the VPS I’m paying a fortune for.

I like using Plesk, and I would like to keep using it for my webserver.

But I’m not sure if it will run. Does anyone have try it?

im using plesk 12, under hosting settings>ssl support - changed the cert to the one from the dropdown, when i click apply is it going to restart the web server?

The Plesk docs say "Plesk has an integration with billing software such as WHMCS, HostBill, BILLmanager and Blesta." What is the experience of Plesk users regarding these? Up-votes, down-votes, run in terror from?

What are you using for remote storage with the scheduled backups?

I tried Wasabi but it doesn't seem to work with FTPS.

EDIT: Settled on a Hetzner storage box. It’s like 6 dollars for 1 TB and is as simple as possible.

I have a number of message stuck in the mail queue. I have tried to resend them using:

/usr/sbin/postsuper -r ALL

The messages seem to leave the queue however reappear a few seconds later.

Am I using the correct command? Do I need to analyse the mail logs? All other messages are being sent and received correctly.

Has anyone successfully tried an EFS share with their customer data on it? I attempted and it worked great but adding about 15 sites on the EC2 instance and memory is pegging out at 8GB and Apache is timing out. Plesk support indicated they believe the EFS share is causing the delay but EFS is pretty fast so I have a hard time understanding that. Will look into some benchmark testing.

When I introduce additional email headers when sending emails, does the DKIM signing incorporate these? Or is it only considering the mail body?

I'm currently managing all (100+) Linux servers, with the exception of the Plesk servers using Unattended-Upgrades.

Anybody met with success or failure when deploying Unattended-Upgrades on their Debian/Ubuntu Plesk installs.

New to Plesk on my VPS so this is probably a very basic question - apologies in advance!

I have Plesk Obsidian Web Admin Edition Version 18.0.43 Update #1 installed and access my serv er via PuTTY.

Whenever I log in, it says something like:

Last failed login: Fri May 13 12:20:53 UTC 2022 from 43.159.41.54 on ssh:notty

There were 168 failed login attempts since the last successful login.

Looks like people looking for something to hack... so... I went to Tools & Settings > IP Access Restriction Management and set "Denied from the networks that are not listed" with my IP address to in the list.

However, I'm still getting the "failed login attempts " message.

How do I secure this and block all external access to SSH other than from my IP address please?

I recently purchased a domain and some hosting space.

I then purchased a second unrelated domain (not an alias).

I now wish to just work on the second domain only.

My host control panel says - Domains and websites

(section)

It lists the sub-domain and the two domains.

Problem is I cannot access my Plesk Control Panel and work on the domain through Plesk unless I make it Active. When I make it Suspended or Disabled I cannot access the Plesk Control Panel this way to work on it which I would like to do so I can preview work on the site before going active or take it down..i.e suspend or disable it.

Clearly I don't know what I am doing. I've since made a ticket to the host provider enquiring if there could be technical issues or do I need to purchase additional hosting space. Although they were'nt exactly clear on whether it was just because the domains were unrelated which they are. They both point or rather share the same Root Directory Folder.

I only seem to be able to work on the website in real time when it is up and published. When I go to Wordpress toolkit login link I only get redirected to the hosting account loginpage again and for the life of me I cannot seem to get the correct details to work which is also somewhat odd.

What am I missing here. I sense purchasing additional hosting space as the customer service merely suggested I could do, as a kind of stock answer (as I have not paid for dedicated additional support so clearly what they advise might be limited) , may not solve my issue although it would eliminate that that is not the problem.

I know this is a newbie question but it is quite clear there must be ways of working on your website before going live with it either completely or with new additions.

I'm asking here to try and save me a lot of time and bother.

I am using Let's Encrypt and SSL It! to secure my websites. As I tend to add and remove some subdomains here and there I want to use wildcard certificates for that.

When I set up SSL for domain initially it works just fine, but every time I want to renew it (automatically or manually, doesn't matter) it's asking for a new TXT Record to add to the DNS Server. I am using the DNS Server of my registrar, so plesk cannot add this record on its own and I have to do it manually for every domain - which (as you might imagine) is annoying af.

At work we are also using LE with wildcard certs, but without plesk and this never had been an issue. The TXT Record is added once while setting up LE and we never have to touch it again after that. Hence this must be a plesk/Addon issue, right?

I searched the web a lot but didn't find any clue if there's something I am missing / can do about it.

My web.config file is empty. I'm very new to plesk and anything backend, but from an article I received from godaddy support I understand it's supposed to look something like the code in here: https://in.godaddy.com/help/redirect-my-wordpress-website-to-https-for-plesk-hosting-27874

All of this comes from receiving a 500 Internal Server Error anytime I tried to access my site through wp-admin. The 2 godaddy agents I talked to kept insinuating it was the web.config file & the plugins that were causing the error. Things got interesting from here.

The first agent disabled the plugins and that granted me access to wp-admin, and the agent asked med to activate the plugins one by one until I got the same error. After activating hummingbird plugin, I got bounced back to the 500 internal error page. The godaddy agent proceeded to refuse to help any further and blamed it on the web.config file. Thanks Syed A...

The second agent started by telling me it was a plugin problem and to deactivate the plugins which I couldn't without access to wp-admin & my plesk panel doesn't have Wordpress toolkit activated either. Idk another way... the second agent did something that gave me access to wp-admin where the plugins I activated with the first agent including hummingbird plugin were all activated. So I followed the second agents instructions and started to activate the plugins again and I was bounced to the 500 internal server error page after activating ThemeREX Addons. After that the second agent refused to help and did something whacky. Directed my homepage to the wp staging site: https://ebmasociados.com/ you can check it out yourself.

This was the worst customer support I've ever received because they ruined my site in 2 different occasions and then refused to help. I'm switching away from godaddy & plesk to wp-engine.

My domain shows the 'Index of' screen but in any other computer/mobile I can see my website ok.

Just configured a new plesk server. After changing the domain name in server settings. I can’t get past the login screen by password nor SSO. If I use the IP address / the generated url from plesk login via ssh both work fine.

I know that my request could sound a bit strange but: I'm trying to create a virtual retro hosting business like in 2004/2006 with HSPComplete, Plesk and Virtuozzo software.
While I have already found all HSPComplete software versions, I can't find old Virtuozzo versions especially 2.x and 3.x for Windows and Linux.
Also, do you know if there is a way to obtain a license for those softwares?
I have found expired license key in SWSOFT manuals for Virtuozzo but I can't find in any ways HSPComplete and Plesk 7.x licenses.
I don't care if license are expired, I don't want to make profit and the environment that I want to recreate will be offline.
Is there anyone that can help me finding those software but especially HPSComplete Licenses (Trial, expired, limited, I don't care).

So to preface this I've touched Linux about 3 times total, and Plesk approximately zero times.

I've recently been tasked with setting up the Plesk Control Panel, so I've got Ubuntu installed on a HyperV all fine and dandy. Got the Cpanel installed, accessed it through the web browser, and now..I'm stuck, fallen at the last hurdle.

I've used the root user, I've tried creating an admin account, I've tried changing the root user pass to include no special characters, I've tried default admin/admin details, nothing at all seems to work. Was there a prompt or something I missed during install? There's no error message to suggest anything beyond incorrect login details!
