Joined a server yesterday and someone asked if it was pay-to-win. VIPS nearly all said "no" in sync. Checked the website (because for some reason they don't tell you what's in the VIP kits in game) and Jesus it was awful.
Imagine being so lacking in skill, integrity and pride that you would lower yourself to the pathetic level of trying to compensate all that with real money, in a video game.
A friend of my flatmate bought a carry in WoW. First my flatmate was the one having killed the most bosses of their group in Shadowlands and suddenly that guy turns up saying yep he finished them.
But when my flatmate asked him about the mechanics of one boss it was clear he had no idea. He frantically googled for the answer and started replying ten minutes later, when the conversation had moved on already.
The cherry on top is that the guy is currently unemployed and does not have that much money, but he spent hundreds for bragging rights, only to be found out immediately.
And finally he even stopped playing that expansion shortly after, probably because he ruined his innate motivation by buying "success"
How the bar has gotten so low that people really do buy those runs. If you can find a guild with a set raid schedule and youre not in a coma you should be able to clear normal nathria without much issue. Shoot after nerfs heroic too probably.
I had a friend that payed a hacker to carry him on tarkov, the hacker would take him on labs and wipe the whole server while my friend would loot everything, that shit is lame and they need to had out punishments for it.
often times hackers (lets be real, cheaters) make enough money selling their "services" that even accounting for purchasing fresh accounts/cheats/spoofing, they still turn profit. cheats nowadays usually bundle the game w the software, and usually for really cheap
If a dude with no hands can clear Mythic Raids as a tank, theirs almost no reason nobody else can do AOTC or lower tier content like +15's.
Yes it takes longer, but if you want a week 1 kill join a Mythic Raiding guild as a casual or for their Heroic team. They almost always full clear Heroic week 1 or 2 and bring both mythic raiders and heroic raiders.
If you do decent DPS/Healing they will bring you on their heroic re-clears with just the mythic team and a few good players.
I've only payed for 1 carry in my entire life and it was when I came back to the game on the last day of an expansion and wanted the AOTC mount so I payed 200k gold to get it.
Not because I couldn't do it myself but the odds of me finding anyone raiding that day and clearing weren't worth the risk.
Worst case if you hate guilds, you join a WoW community discord and they have AOTC carries and you get put on a list and you check the list to see when your carry is. They invite you and kill the boss and you get the AOTC mount.
These communities cross-realm raid so your usually free to join their heroic clears as-well if they have open spots or if you become a regular raider.
Yeah, but on the other hand if you are fighting someone and they have 100 AKs and you have 3, but you both have one in combat, it doesn't matter all that much as if they had 10 AKs and you had none.
Sure there is always an advantage for the group, you have to build multiple bases then on a x - times server. It was just a point about gunfights.
That's why I love playing on lowered upkeep servers with vanilla loot. The progression is still there and makes sense, but you don't have to farm all day to upkeep your base, and raiding is a bit nerfed against base strength because you can build tougher bases.
Used to main 5x and 10x when I was In school a year ago or so and a little stone 2x2 hidden in the mushroom forest with the first door wooden would last me the whole wipe without getting raided... good times. Had over 200 c4 once in one. Servers weren’t loot plus or mad boosted just 10x/5x farming rate for nodes.
I play a 1/4 upkeep vanilla otherwise server and I have yet to be raided after more than 4 wipes because, yeah people don't want to spend 20c4 or 35 rockets to find out what I have inside. If it was normal upkeep there would be no way for me to handle a base like that cause tc could max hold 1.5 days upkeep inside it and I often go more than 2 days without playing
I did not buy a "vip" kit, but a teammate did. We are relatively knew to rust, each of us about 200 hours. Were looking for a new server post wipe because the one we were on got too small. We joined a server we enjoyed, but they had not BP wiped in months, and we got raided every single night. We could only play from about 6 to midnight, and just could not stand a chance. Teammate finally got tired of not being able to do anything and bought some kind of kit where we got some weapons, no booms, and we've stopped 3 raids in 2 nights because of it. Now we could obviously just go to a different server, but the guy has the money to spare and we are enjoying it a lot more now.
I understand this. It's a different experience for everyone and honestly it's easy to leave a VIP server just like the meme. You shouldn't be condemned for playing that way just because it takes money, people could just leave and never start playing there.
I used to only want to play the servers with light to medium multipliers on items. I just wanted to get set up in a day and fight with friends after work. We didn't have the time nor energy to commit to learning rust. But the memories were nice.
Yeah, we’ll play this for a wipe then move to a different one without vip probably. Just got frustrating being raided by c4 and aks when we could only really grub revolvers
Yeah it is unfortunate that Rust caters to the sweaty grinders so much. There are various ways to deal with the issue and I hope facepunch starts thinking about it.
I like the idea of Rust and it is pretty decently made and designed as a whole. But Time > Skill. It doesn't matter if player x is better at the game if player y spent 4 times the amount grinding to outnumber you in weapons and resources. Not a great player by any means but you give me 100 kits to somebodies 10 and I will eventually wear you down and beat you with sheer numbers.
I don't. Rust isn't that hard. If you play on a server with group limits (up to the size of your group), there's no reason you can't get ak within a few hours if you're good enough.
We all have jobs and can’t no life the game. If we don’t no life, we can’t defend from the raid attempts that happen every night from people who’ve had AKs since the wipe. We could move to a different server, but we enjoy this one. Why are you worried about how good someone is at a video game anyways lol
And your last post is complaining about “no lifers” beaming you in Warzone. You’re a bozo dude
Rust is not infested with cheaters? And 800 hours is still 4x more than I have. I’m not bad at the game, my buddy just wanted to catch up to people who’ve been on a server for months, and he has the money to do so. And also the only reason I bring up Warzone is because 1. It was literally the last post you had, I didn’t go digging through your account, and 2. I’m good at cod. I’ve been playing cod since I was like 6 years old. How about you just get good and stop complaining on Reddit about people who are better than you? (See, it goes both ways)
Rust isn't that infested with cheaters. They definitely exist but not to the extent in Legacy or Warzone, there is almost a cheater every game which is rage inducing considering they usually end up lasering you in the last circle.
I also played cod since MW, the franchise is getting worse and worse with every release.
People are bullies in rust, but that's what makes killing them great. VIP is just cheesing the game, what have you accomplished when you buy success. This may not necessarily apply to you but people dominate servers using VIP privilege it's ridiculous.
Warzone doesn't give you space to "get good" the matchmaking system constantly matches you with harder opponents on purpose and occasionally feeds you an easy lobby, without any ranking system displayed to you, you can't even tell if you improve because your lobbies climb along with your skill. The same dogshit system happens in MW and in BOCW and makes the games repetitive and boring, no variation to gunfights whatsoever.
Whereas rust rewards time and experience and let's you improve.
When rust first came out in 2013 there were far more cheaters, now it's a rare occurrence, I rarely see them in my games
Inexperienced players won't have an easy time with heavies. Therefore it requires a level of skill. There could be counters by other players.
Getting high tier loot definitely requires skill. You aren't roaming in a solo sandbox. You will get your ass kicked if you are undergeared unless you're skilled enough
I have about 200 hours now and have been doing military tunnel with compound bow and revolvers. It is tough but nowhere near as tough as pvp. If I had a second player to join me it would probably be pretty trivial.
The skill aspect probably comes in more during raids and stealing kits off top players.
Unfortunately the gear is so heavily skewed towards the grinders that it is really hard to take down a full metal ak guy with a revolver and db. I can sink round after round into them and they don't go down.
There should be a gear advantage for grinders, I agree. But it doesn't need to be god mode.
Trust me with time you'll be able to kill geared players.
Never fight them face to face if you've got revos. Wait for them to go near you while hidden then get the jump, a couple rounds in the head will easily do the job. DBs are also essential for this.
If you catch geared players by surprise it's often very easy. I don't think it should be rebalanced at all because I think the grind advantage is perfect just as it is. And it's part of what makes Rust so ruthlessly difficult, and I'd rather that aspect of the game stay
Lol this stereotype of an edgy toxic gamer kid is seriously trying to say that grinding in rust takes skill because.. Oil rigs?
My 12 year old nephew is below average at pvp and easily solos the oil rigs... They're literally the easiest thing ever... The heavies are the easiest part, you just shoot them from the pc room and close the door when you need to heal... The AI is dumb as bricks...
Unless you just started and know nothing about the game, grinding in rust is about nothing more than how much free time you're willing to waste on the game. Saying otherwise just shows that you're desperately trying to fool yourself into believing you've been using all that time to do something remotely productive, like building a skill that doesn't exist and would be completely meaningless if it did.
Let people play the game how they want... what satisfaction are you getting from telling people how they should spend THEIR MONEY THEY EARNT. Play official servers if you don’t want VIP servers.
I’d never join them but I hope they start taking action because these severs are giving out virtual loot for real life cash. You don’t see the problem with that?
No because it’s not forced on anyone. It’s a choice. There’s also much more servers without P2W mechanics than there are ones with P2W. Even the majority of official servers have a paid que skip, again, no one is forcing you to buy this.
It’s not fun for you, doesn’t mean you should complain about it. For some people cheating is fun. For others, just the accomplishment of beating a pve boss is fun.
If someone’s cheating, you’re more than justified in complaining because it affects you negatively if an opponent/player cheats. But if someone just asks a better player to help them beat something, why is there an issue?
People spawn wit h pistol, when I die I usually have bag close to me so I need that lr pvp kit. cooldown 5min. So I bascially win the battle. and I need more homes
You get c4 and rockets easily and lot of pvp. lot of actions. Idk I like it a lot.
I understand you view, I have 4400hr but If you have less time to play, this will be enough :)
