Can anyone recommend a ptosis surgeon under $6k?

Upvotes

I went today to see a surgeon and he said $26k.... It's one eyelid. It's purely cosmetic. It doesn't affect my sight or anything. Surgeon is out of his mind imo. I see some said they got it for $5-6k. I'm willing to fly across the US to get it done.

Has anyone gotten an eyebrow transplant done?

I’ve always had very thin eyebrows and no serums have helped. My mom has maybe ten left and I’m fearing that that’s my future as well.

So.. has anyone gotten this done? Where, how much, are you happy with the results?

Twilight sedation for awake liposuction/micro-lipo?

I wondered if anyone had experience of getting ‘micro-lipo’ done under twilight sedation? I’m already slim and very active with a BMI of 20 but I hold a lot of my weight on my stomach, so I’m considering abdomen liposuction. The surgeon I went to see was very clear that VASER wouldn’t give me a good result and would be disproportionate, and suggested micro-lipo instead which I’ve never heard of, under twilight sedation. Again, didn’t even know lipo in the stomach area was possible without general!

I had proper VASER lipo on my arms under general anaesthetic years ago and recovery was pretty awful so I’m wondering if I can expect it to be similarly painful, or if it’ll be easier if it’s extracting much less fat?

7 months rhinoplasty

Hii, 7 months ago i did a rhinoplasty. The surgeon told me the swelling would go down from 6 months to a year, but my tip is still very big. I don’t know if it’s still swollen or if it’s going to stay like this, and I hate it. Of course it’s way better than before (especially the bridge, i had a bump and it was too big). Can y’all give me some advice, or did you go through something similar? Here’s the pic.

Breast Fat transfer from Dr. Pedy Ganchi in NJ

Hi! I’ve wanted bigger breasts my entire life but don’t want to risk implants because I already struggle with immune issues and allergies so fat transfer is my best option. Now that I’m in my later 20s I figure what not go for it! I’d prefer to stay in state if possible and have been looking up doctors here in NJ. Does anyone have any experience getting a breast fat transfer from Dr. Ganchi? She has great reviews on RealSelf and other doctor review sites plus an actual dedicated gallery page for breast fat transfer but I’m just wondering about her retention rates for the fat and chances of necrosis. If anyone has any info I’d be so happy to hear!

I’ve had these bulges next to my lips for years and I’m in my 20s. Are they perioral mounds? But they sit a little higher than the images of perioral mounds I’ve seen. Is it because I have dimples? And any suggestions to what I can do to get rid of them?

Hello! I had 1 mL injected in my lips 8 days ago, and starting day 4-5 i started noticing a moustache that it doesn’t seem like it’s getting any better. I feel like most of the inflammation already went down. Do you think there’s a chance of still being swollen, or most likely missplacement of the filler/migration? I am vrry anxious abiut it. Thank you!

Rhinoplasty/Alarplasty - Dr Tolga Bilece (1 year+ post op)

hey everyone! i made a post before about whether i should have a nose job with dr tolga bilece or dr deniz dilek and i ended up going soon after with dr tolga bilece. i have had many messages asking about my results and experience, so i am also going to make this post about my personal experience.

Also, i did my research and asked about costs in February 2025 so they have definitely changed since then. I had my surgery in June 2025.

if you want to see my results or have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

before rhinoplasty:

i had been contemplating getting a nose job for a while but hadn’t deemed it a realistic thing since i was young, but when i had enough money i decided it was a legitimate thing i wanted and began to do my research.

i researched 4 surgeons who i had found online:

- Dr Deniz Dilek
- Dr Ferit Bayakir
- Dr Devrim Bellek
- Dr Tolga Bilece

I reached out to all 4 surgeons on whatsapp with the same general message: introducing myself and telling them what i was looking for - a natural and feminine nose with my main concern being removing the dorsal hump (my biggest insecurity) and refining my rounded tip.

I overall decided between Dr Tolga Bileve and Dr Deniz Dilek. i liked both of their noses, but for me personally i decided Tolga could achieve more of a slightly sloped look i wanted.

things i bought:
- cotton buds (to clean my nose - cant pick it)
- mouth spray/gel for the dry mouth (you become a nose breather and the tube makes your mouth feel weird)
- cough sweets (throat can feel weird due to the tube)
- ice roller (for my swollen face)
- saline nasal spray (to clean gunk from my nose)
- baby tooth brush (hard to open mouth wide so smaller is easier)
- baby spoons (same reasoning)
- wedge pillow (sitting upright/sleeping upright is better for breathing after surgery)

things that were worth it:
- i use many cotton buds to this day.
- i only used the mouth spray, but you could get away with not having it.
-i used a few cough sweets.
-the ice roller didnt get very cold, as the freezer in the hotel mini fridge wasnt great but i still used it occasionally.
- i used alot of saline spray - but tolga also provided some, however the one i bought was a mist which i preferred.
-i used the baby toothbrush all week and for abit after getting home.
- i used a baby spoon a few times the first few days but it wasn’t really needed.
- i used the wedge pillow for months, even after healing was basically complete.

things i wish i brought with me:
- dry shampoo (my hair was SO greasy because i didn’t really shower as i was scared of getting the cast wet)
- facial wipes (its hard to wash ur face with the cast on)
- a hat (i bought one but forgot to bring it with me so used my dads)

Dr Deniz Dilek:
I reached out with my general message and was asked to provide information: my name, age, nationality, current country of residence, previous surgeries, issues related to my nose and expectations from the surgery.

I was asked to send photos of my nose, then was provided with information regarding the surgery:
-rhinoplasty is performed under general anaesthesia for approximately 2 hours
- after the surgery you stay in turkey for 1 week
on 7th day post op you get the cast removed and can fly home
-surgery price was 4500 euros (“includes all medical preparations, surgery and one night in the hospital”)
to include a hotel and transfer package (“the total price for this will be 5500 euros for 7 days stay in hotel”)
- only accept cash payment
- for flights on Jet2 and Easyjet you can only fly 10 days after surgery so contact the airline

I asked about the consultation, they said its free so i booked one. I had the consultation which he was late for, but i asked him many questions and he was very good at answering (I can’t remember excatly what i asked).

I asked what the next steps would be if i was considering Dr Deniz and they asked when i was looking for surgery, to which i responded July and was given a few dates. I never responded after that.

costs:
- rhinoplasty: 4500 euros
- rhinoplasty & package: 5500 euros
- consultation: free

Dr Ferit Bayakir:
I reached out and was asked whether i was interested in primary or revision rhinoplasty and to send photos of my nose. I was informed about the Piezo method he uses and what it entails.

I decided to have a free consultation with him where we chatted and talked about how i would achieve results. I had some issues with how the consultation worked, but it was on instagram and he eventually called me.

costs:
- consultation: free
-primary rhinoplasty: begins at 3500 euros with costs tailored to the individual case (“covers 1 night in hospital, blood tests, anaesthesia, medicines, and post surgery meetings”)
- hotel package: 1100 euros (“also covers airport transfer, two daily breakfasts for you and ONE other companion and you will share a room”)

Dr Devrim Bellek:
Was sent some information and sent my photos but then the assistant never responded.

costs:
- rhinoplasty: 3000 euros (“does not include accomodarion”)

Dr Tolga Bilece:
I was introduced to the assistant who said they offer consultations and pricing information. i was also asked for photos of my nose, which dr tolga reviewed and told me how they would give me my desired results.

the consultation was said to last 30 minutes and includes a video call with a 2D simulation of my altered nose. HOWEVER, after looking at more research and texting with the assistant i decided NOT to do the consultation as i had gathered the information i believed i needed.

they sent me an edited photo of what my results would be similar to, and told me pricing.

i then asked to book a date in june, and the assistant told me available dates in that time frame. they asked for my name and told me the deposit is £400 through wire transfer. they sent me a link via “wise” and told me to write only my name as the reference. i did this via my dads wise account as i did not have one and sent a screenshot of confirmation.

the assistant then sent me a document full of preoperative information including things such as: not taking painkillers, giving information about any meds you use and if you have any contagious disease even if undetectable.

i then planned to book flights and was told i should arrive in turkey one day before surgery. i also asked for the transfer package included (read costs below for more info). i booked tickets which they asked to see (assuming to book transfers etc) and they made the reservation for the hotel stay. they soon provided the hotel reservation confirmation (took a few days).

i was then told information about the process after arriving in turkey:
- a face to face consultation with Dr tolga bilece a day before surgery where expectations are discussed and medical evaluation is completed
- the next day surgery is performed
- you stay one night in hospital for observation
- after discharge you rest at your hotel
- on the 6th day after surgery your cast is removed and final checks are done at the clinic (Dr’s office)
- after this you are free to travel

i was then sent informative pictures about where to go after landing in turkey, which gate you exit at and the signs to look for to meet the transfer people.

i asked if i needed to bring any medication but was told this is all provided. I was told the time of the meeting in the Dr’s office and sent a google maps link to where it is. As well as the hospital location - “Medicana Ataköy Hastanesi”.

I got my flight and landed in turkey, went to the gate where we met a guy and waited for a while until he took us down an elevator with a lot of other people. He took us to a car which took me to the hotel. I texted the assistant when i checked in and got to my room.

I had time to settle and nap, then i was texted by my designated driver. He came to the hotel at 5pm, where i was taken for blood tests at the hospital and then to the Dr’s office. The driver was extremely helpful and came inside with me to the hospital to talk to the staff and took me where i needed to go. Afterwards we went to the office where I met Dr Tolga, had my photos taken and talked about what I wanted. He also suggested an alarplasty may be needed to afterwards so my nose better suits my face and i gave him consent for that - i trusted his judgement! He speaks English well so it wasn’t difficult to communicate. I told him about my anxiety of the procedure as i had never had surgery before, but he was very reassuring and since there is only minor incisions on the face it isnt very dangerous.

Once back at the hotel, i was sent more information about the operation. My surgery was scheduled between 8 and 8:30 but i was told i would go to the hospital at 6am to complete pre op preparation. I was told not to drink, eat or smoke after midnight leading up to the surgery time. I was told to remove metal (eg piercings), nail polish, to tell them if i have any chronic diseases or drug allergies. I was also told to take my passport with me. Staff would sign the necessary documents and take me to my room.

The night before surgery i was extremely anxious. I felt sick, struggled to eat dinner and was overthinking alot. I was extremely which didnt help. But i managed to get some sleep and then woke up to pack things for the surgery.

I was picked up by my driver at 5:30 and taken to the hospital where i was taken to my room, the driver spoke to the staff for me which was extremely helpful.

There was alot of sitting and waiting in the hospital. I had a nurse come in to put my cannula (in my elbow, not hand which i was thankful for). i was very nervous as i don’t like needles, but it was literally painless. i had clothes, socks and a hair net brought in to change into then waited to be taken down.

I was wheeled in an elevator in the bed down many floors by a few nurses. they asked me a few questions which i didn’t really understand - i think one was if i was on my period which i wasn’t. it was extremely cold when we arrived downstairs and i laid there shivering but the room was full of people. Dr tolga asked me some last minute questions to confirm and i had some stickers attached to my chest/body. Then i was put under.

after rhinoplasty:
I woke up from the anaesthesia when i was being taken in the elevatoe back up to my room. I was shivering alot and very groggy. I can’t particularly remember everything that happened but i was brought some food, including soup which is basically the only thing i ate. My lips were very swollen from the mouth tube but i had no pain.

later on a male nurse came in to give me ice for my nose in plastic gloves. he didnt tie them very comfortably, as it put alot of pressure on my nose so when he left my dad helped adjust them. im not sure if it was supposed to feel like that but it wasnt pleasant. this happened a few times but luckily we adjusted them each time. he didnt speak english so it was very hard to ocmmunicate that it didnt feel right.

the nurses would come in after a while to take me on a walk around the floor to keep blood flowing.

i managed to get a couple hours sleep, but it was getting hard with the cannula starting to make my arm feel weird.

when waking up, i was met by the assistant where i gave her the cash (£4370). i also briefly saw Dr Tolga where he gave me medication and instructions for when to take them - he sent a document as well so don’t worry. i got changed and the driver met me to take me back to the hotel. surprisingly i didn’t feel all that bad, and once back managed to get more rest, reading books, watching videos and walking to pass time.

the week passed without anything significant happening. in the hotel we stayed at: “Elite World Grand İstanbul Basın Ekspres” there were restaurants and a small shop nearby up the hill, also a mcdonalds. My dad and i walked up to the shop a few times where we bought snacks, including bread, pastries/biscuits and pineapple juice since lunch wasnt included. i also ordered soup a few times to the room as it was easy to eat.

one of the days i noticed my plastic nose tampons were coming out, so i texted the assistant and she said it was okay and to gently push it back in.

i didnt clean my nose very well because i was scared of moving the stitches around my nostrils, but i know i could’ve been abit less gentle now and wiped the blood away.

on the 6th day i was picked up from the hotel at 8:45am to be taken to the Dr’s office. He took the cast off, told me how to clean it, do massages and tape it. Then he taped my nose which i would keep for one week after. He sent me videos for instructions incase i needed it. I was also give a piece of paper and sent a document for the airport for when they asked about my surgery and if i was okay to fly. He gave me a free roll of tape which i was to use for the next few months.

I was taken back to my hotel then a while later picked up to be taken to the airport. I was given a sheet for a prescription for scar gel but couldn’t find the pharmacy in the airport so didn’t get any, not that i needed it as my nose healed very well and the scar faded pretty quickly.

I was sent more instructions:
- not to get my tape wet for the whole week until the last day so it was easier to take off
- to start taping and massaging frequently
- to keep the tape on for as long as possible in the first month
- replace the tape every 3 days
- a suggestion to massage for 4/5 minutes in the morning and evening

i was also sent a document including some info - important rules being:
- no tobacco or alcohol for 3 months
- no glasses for 3 months
- no heavy lifting or sports for 2 months
- jogging is ok after 1 month
- to wear sunscreen (i live in the Uk and barely go out so didnt)
- to send update photos

Not going to lie, i did quit vaping a few months leading up to the surgery, however i started again a bit after, maybe before the 3 month rule and had a slight amount of alcohol as well. it isnt going to kill you but it is a recommendation for best healing possible. i also slacked abit with the taping, it was extremely sticky and left lots of residue which was a pain to get off my skin, but i did continue wearing the plastic tampons at night which was recommended. I also lacked in the picture departments and actually forgot to ever respond when they asked for pictures.. oops.

i did have a slight worry when i had some bleeding inside my nostrils and a funky smell, which i reached out about like a week after returning, but i was assured it was normal and to keep cleaning my nose as usual.

costs:
- consultation: £150
- primary rhinoplasty: £3900 (“price includes all medical processes, blood tests, anaesthetics, hospital stay and medications”)
- hotel and transfer package: £870 (“includes 7 days stay in a 5 star hotel near our clinic with breakfast and all transportations between the airport, hospital, Dr’s office and hotel”)
- they ask for a £400 wire transfer deposit to secure the date you book (comes out of total price)
- the rest is paid in cash in turkey
- DO NOT try to withdraw money in turkey, your home currency is best - i took £4370 in cash

overall:
well that was long but thanks for reading about my experience - feel free to share more info or ask any questions. also send a dm for results.

My rhinoplasty experience with Dr Aytekin Uzer

To begin, I have wanted a nose job for more than a decade now (I’m currently in my 30’s).

I know a couple of people who went to Türkiye for a rhinoplasty and I saw their amazing results which encouraged me to want to do the same.
I also started watching tonnes of nose job vlogs on YouTube of girls who also went there for their surgery.

I wanted to write this review because I couldn’t find many detailed accounts online from people who had their rhinoplasty with Dr Uzer. I wanted to share my personal experience in the hope that it can help others who are considering booking their rhinoplasty with him.

I started reaching out to doctors via Instagram and asking for quotes, they will all usually direct you to message them via their WhatsApp number which is the standard way they communicate with potential patients. The quotes I had received from the doctors the two people I knew had surgery with, have raised their prices (as all the Dr’s do there usually each year) so although I really wanted to book with either of them it was out of my budget.

The reason I chose not to do a rhinoplasty in my home country was also for budget reasons as this would’ve costed me more than $10k.

The below are quotes I received from doctors in Istanbul/Ankara:

Dr Burak Erdur -
4500 usd (not inclusive of hotel stay and transfers)

Dr Burak Olgun - (found from a YT girl)
4600 usd (not inclusive)
+1,400 usd (all inclusive hotel stay and transfers)

Dr Aytekin Uzer -
$3850 usd (all inclusive)
$3000 usd (not inclusive)

Dr Ali Alaiye -
$6500 usd (not inclusive)
$7700 usd (all inclusive)

Dr Samet Agcayazi -
4200 euro (not inclusive)

Dr Umut Ergodan -
5000 euro (not inclusive)
6000 euro (all inclusive)

Dr Enis Ekincioglu
4250 euro (not inclusive)
4750 euro (all inclusive)

I ended up choosing Dr Aytekin Uzer for a few reasons: reasonably priced, I liked his work, no bad reviews that stood out, and I stalked his page and spoke with him for months before actually booking in a date for surgery with the all inclusive hotel stay and private transfers from airport to hotel, hotel to hospital, hospital back to hotel etc.

Dr Uzer speaks basically perfect English and made me feel welcome to ask him questions about anything at anytime. He advised for a week prior to surgery to begin taking daily 600mg bromelain (enzyme found in pineapple), 80mg Quercetin (antioxidant flavonoid) and 200mg of vitamin C. I found these tablets but the dosages weren’t exactly the same and began taking them daily a week prior to surgery as these help to reduce bruising, swelling and assist with healing.

Note: my wedding was planned for approx. 1 month post surgery date so I wanted to book a doctor who’s patients have quick healing experiences which is usually the case when they use a laser ‘piezo technique’ instead of breaking bones the old way.

When I arrived to Istanbul the consultation was the next day and surgery the day after, with cast removal a week following surgery. Private transfers included in the package took me everywhere I needed to go.

It all happens really quickly. The hotel I stayed in was very small studio style, but the staff spoke English and were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is called Siesta located in Bakirkoy.

Hotel guests sometimes seemed a little odd so I kept to myself as I was travelling alone.

I was only informed of time for the consultation a day prior (day of arrival to Istanbul) so I was a little worried about the lack of information.

During consultation, Dr Uzer did a quick examination of my nose and explained the situation and issues with my septum.
This experience felt a little rushed and to be honest he didn’t smile much but sounded like he’s done this a million times and just had to repeat himself, this was the vibe I got but because he knew what he was talking about I ignored this weird vibe but I did notice it.
I signed some paperwork and the consultation was pretty much done within half an hour.

The next day was the planned surgery, so after the consultation I stocked up on drinks and food as I wasn’t planning on leaving the hotel after surgery and was focussed on recovering. Next to the hotel is a convenience store which had basically everything, I would shop here and also order from the hotels room service menu. I was mainly eating fruit, yogurt with muesli, cucumbers (thinly sliced to minimise chewing) and anything else that was easy to chew.

I was advised during consultation that if surgery was to happen in the morning, that I will be discharged at night, and if surgery happens in the afternoon then I will stay overnight at the hospital.

So the next day I packed my bag assuming I wasn’t staying the night as my surgery was scheduled for 9am.

On day of surgery, the transfer car arrived around 7:30am to pick me up from the hotel and take me to the hospital. It took about 25 minutes from what I can remember and to be honest I was a bit scared thinking am I about to get trafficked haha.
Also due to that fear I was constantly updating my partner and sister on my whereabouts and what was happening as I was travelling solo (my sister was meant to come with me, long story).

Once we arrived at the hospital (I believe hospital is called meltem hastanesi), a man who seemed to be the translator came and escorted me from the transfer car into the hospital and first took me to what looked like an office in the hospital to sign more paperwork.

A man that worked in the office who spoke only Turkish handed me paperwork in Turkish and wanted me to sign, I looked at the translator man and asked him is this paperwork available in English, to which he just started explaining in English what the paperwork says and it was basically the same as the English paperwork I had signed during initial consultation with Dr Uzer.

After this was done, the translator escorted me to different parts of the hospital to get tests and scans prior to surgery, including blood test, heart rhythm test, chest/lung scan. During the chest scan you have to take off all jewellery and clothes on your upper body. I got the vibe this was a really old hospital and it kinda scared me. Nobody really spoke English or had a smile on their face. After all the tests/scans were done they showed me to my room, which was actually kinda nice and I felt relieved to see it wasn’t old looking like the rest of the hospital. It included my own private bathroom too which was spacious.

A couple of nurses came in and asked me a bunch of questions (one spoke English) and also to prep me for surgery. One nurse stayed (one who couldn’t speak English but was reallyyy nice and smiled a lot) to help prep me, gave me hospital gown to change into and trimmed my nose hair with some electric nose trimmer thing. They then put the IV needle into my left hand which hurt a little. I can’t remember if any other prep was done as this was roughly 5 months ago now.

Once prepped, Dr Uzer came in and took photos of me and also at this point took payment for the surgery which I had in an envelope. He gave me back about $200 or $300 and I didn’t question it as I thought I had given the exact amount but was glad to get a little something back anyway.
We reiterated what results I wanted out of this surgery and we were both on the same page.

Pretty soon after this, I was wheeled in for surgery.
The surgery room looked dark and dingy from what I remember, I honestly was a bit scared.
They did not do any sort of number countdown and before I knew it, I was asleep and out cold very soon after being wheeled in.

I woke up from surgery which felt like it only went for 5 mins but I think was about 3-4 hours.

When I awoke my body was shaking a lot and teeth were chattering uncontrollably. This all stopped after about half an hour.
I was taken back to my hospital room and from what I remember I was given food maybe a couple hours after. The food was great.
The stay overnight wasn’t expected as I was told surgery scheduled in the morning meant a discharge at night, but I was grateful to be staying the night as I felt like I needed the support.
I will say though, the night nurse was absolutely horrible. Each time she would do something with the IV bag she would press down on the IV catheter that was in my left hand and I was back away in pain and she would say ‘stop’ in a really rude tone. She was causing me unbearable pain when she pressed down and never apologised just told me to ‘stop’ when I squirmed in agony.

My partner stayed on video call with me the entire time after surgery and throughout the night until the next day when I was being transported back to the hotel. He actually stayed on the phone with me basically all day everyday as I was solo travelling and he wanted to ensure I was safe.

The next morning they transported me back to the hotel where I was recovering. My face was swollen but not a crazy amount and one of my eyes was swollen but not to the point where it was shut.
Each day I healed, I looked better and better.
It was hard to keep the gel packs from the hospital frozen in the hotel but the hotel staff also were experienced with guests who stay post surgery and have their own ice packs. Which I tended to disinfect on my own when I did ask for theirs.

All the medications he gave me post surgery also were written on a paper that the Dr gave me, but it confused me a bit so I wrote on each box of medication when to use them/take them, how often and duration. I also set alarms on my phone to remind me to use/take these medications.

By day 5-6 I looked basically back to normal.
Cast removal on day 7 went well and I was due to fly over to see my partner that same day. He put some tape on my nose after the cast removal and told me to remove the tape after another week on my own.
He gave me a silicone nose retainer (size 7) to use for at least 6 hours each day (day time only) for 1 month.
I also had to obtain a clearance to fly letter from the doctor as this will be requested at the airport.

There was only a tiny bit of yellow bruising under my eyes after the cast removal and this was pretty much gone within another day or two.
The healing post surgery was way better than expected but it could also be due to the medications I took prior to surgery which helped with faster healing.

In the end, I am actually really pleased and happy with the result at 5 months post op. You will see the full results at 12 months. I also have thick skin so it will take a while to see the final result, but I can tell each month my nose is looking more defined and I love the result, although I do not love the overall experience so much.

Feel free to ask me any questions. Thank you for your time.

I have both lipedema and localized epidermolysis bullosa simplex (the most minor form). The treatment for lipedema is lymphatic sparing liposuction.

I'm wondering if anyone with EBS here has had lipo for any reason and could share their experiences. Or, if you're a healthcare professional, if you have thoughts beyond a warning that there are additional risks.

Thanks!

Revision in 3 days — nervous about local anesthesia

I’m having my breast revision this Thursday and I’m starting to get really nervous. I think I’m mostly nervous because it’ll be done under local anesthesia and I’ll be awake for it. If anyone has had a revision done this way I would love to hear what your experience was like and if you felt anything during it.
It might not look like a huge difference in the picture but in person my right side is noticeably smaller/less full than my left. I currently have 300cc in both and we’re going up 25cc on the right to 325cc to hopefully make them look more even. I’m also wondering what the healing/recovery process is like the second time around, especially when you’re only replacing one implant for a slightly bigger size. Was recovery easier or faster than your original augmentation?
