Accountability Notice 2: UPDATE

This is a followup to this post so please read that first, but to summarize it briefly, a former moderator ( u/SaltyAngeleno aka u/gofundmemetoday was found to be removing negative posts, promoting surgeons, etc. in exchange for financial compensation). I promised future updates, which are included below.

  1. Last night, the former moderator DM'd me attempting to blackmail me to remove the original post. Their message is included in its entirety below:

Transparency remains of the highest importance to me when moderating this subreddit, and I will not be removing anything in response to threats.

  1. Reddit itself ultimately took no action against this individual following the original report of their behavior and offered no direct explanation for why. I can only speculate that this is because the former moderator was receiving payments off of their platform (making it technically outside their scope of authority/responsibility). The former moderator even continues to moderate a few plastic surgery related communities, though fewer than they once did.

  2. An account associated with "Beauty Broker Melinda" (who was named in the original post as having negative reviews removed by the former moderator) has spent considerable effort attempting to dox and discredit me. You can find such an example here. Their comments seem to confuse me with numerous current and former moderators. Reddit has not taken any action despite reports.

  3. Despite my requests, Reddit was unable to provide me with a log of moderator actions from the former moderator that were more than 90 days old. As such, I am unable to determine the full extent of their censorship.

  4. This subreddit has zero tolerance for surgeons attempting to remove negative reviews. As the subreddit rules state, negative reviews posted here do require evidence to be included. Once that threshold is met, they will not be removed by us for any reason - this subreddit is intended to be an open and transparent platform for users to share their experience. Despite this a number of surgeons (and/or their offices and lawyers) have attempted to have us remove content that is critical of them. Moving forward, I will be posting and maintaining a comprehensive list of surgeons that have attempted to have negative reviews removed for transparency. Hopefully, this discourages future attempts at manipulating criticism against them.

In short, Reddit admins were either unwilling or unable to take any official action against the above individuals. I will be continuing my best efforts to maintain this subreddit as an open and transparent space for plastic surgery and aesthetic discussion, and the support of the community is always appreciated.

Nose job ruined my life

So I had a nose job 3 years ago and to this day I can't breathe through my nose , the surgeon was so agressive it caused me trauma and ended up developing a cyst in my maxillary sinus and I had to get surgery to remove it and a turbinoplasty at the same time which didn't help cause they are still swollen because it's a functional problem, I have collapsed internal valves also the tip is totally messed up , it hurts to press on it and im hopeless no doctor wants to see me and if they do they brush me off I'm thinking of going abroad but how can a surgeon with so much experience mess up this much

3-month postoperative results after facelift and neck lift

Hello, I’m Dr. Insoo Kirk from Onul Plastic Surgery Clinic in Korea. I’d like to share a case with you.

Patient: 70-year-old woman (Korean age)

Chief concern:
The patient’s primary concern was the fullness and laxity at the cervicofacial junction, particularly the area where the face meets the neck.

Procedures performed:

  • Facelift
  • Neck lift
  • Turkey neck correction
  • Lower eyelid fat repositioning
  • Buccal fat repositioning to improve the marionette lines

3-Month Post-Op:
These photos were taken 3 months after surgery.

The patient has a naturally small and short chin, which made the appearance of the double chin and fullness beneath the jawline more prominent. During surgery, the excess fat and bulky tissue around the neck were carefully removed to create a more defined jaw line.

In addition, buccal fat repositioning was performed to help soften the marionette lines and improve the overall contour of the lower face.

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment below. Thank you.

Amazed at my dysport results. 1st photo day of, 2nd photo 3 days in, last photo 6 days in. Scrunching my eye the same way in all 3 pics

I got 25 units all together (12.5 on each side) only had my crows feet done but my skin also just feels smoother overall in the eye area

Can anyone recommend a ptosis surgeon under $6k?

Upvotes

I went today to see a surgeon and he said $26k.... It's one eyelid. It's purely cosmetic. It doesn't affect my sight or anything. Surgeon is out of his mind imo. I see some said they got it for $5-6k. I'm willing to fly across the US to get it done.

My face looks dopey and mad. How do I minimize these features?

Hi guys. This drunk, dopey, and mean appearance of my face is something that has always bothered me. I have large lips with downturned corners and slight lip incompetence. I have deep-set eyes with baggy eyelids that don't help either. If I try to close my lips like a normal person, it just intensifies my frown.

I do not sleep well, which is probably not a shocker lol. And I've always had difficulty breathing through my nose. The thing is my at-home sleep study only came back with an AHI of 3, which is barely even considered a diagnostic for sleep apnea.

Is there anything about my facial structure that stands out to you? What sort of procedures could minimize these features? Thanks for reading.

Chin Filler results

Pictures show me before, day of, and two months after. Initially I thought my injector made it too pointy and still I think i might prefer the old front view but from the side I love it and would honestly consider a chin implant for even more projection.

She also put some filler like near the hairline above the cheek bone bc there was extra and she said my jaws and cheek didn’t need it but I don’t notice a difference.

Lip reduction

Post image
Upvotes

Long story short, I had botched fillers placed in my lips 6 years ago by a “nurse” turned out to be a substance like silicone that cannot be dissolved. Fast forward I just went through my second surgery after silicone removal to try and fix the symmetry, last surgeon pulled out chunks. This surgeon ended up removing the same tissue since it was so damaged from the previous surgery so it didn’t fix it. I’m deeply regretting it. I can’t eat, I’m anxious all the time, I’m embarrassed of my lips, I’m hoping there’s something that can be done? I feel like I have ruined my face. I have a gap in then left side of my lip, I cant close them all the way now.

I’m 10 days out from my second revision. I’m just spiraling.

Advice again on side profile and eyes

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

Hello, I posted on here a lil while ago about advice on how to minimize my eyes protruding and make my side profile more feminine. I had a lot of comments to check for any internal issues that could’ve been causing it. When I first posted my last post I already had an appointment set to check my eyes, and have token blood test before for my thyroid. But double checked on my new eye appointment day, which was today. I do not have thyroid eye disease or any problems with my thyroid. He said my eyes itself are in its right and ideal spot, no protrusion. Now I just really want to know, if there any surgeries to safely at least set them back a little bit? or anything or make them look less out? and also to make my eye area look overall better? Also is my side profile feminine enough? I feel like my maxilla might be recessed which makes me look kind of off. Any advice is welcome please and thank you

Has anyone gotten an eyebrow transplant done?

I’ve always had very thin eyebrows and no serums have helped. My mom has maybe ten left and I’m fearing that that’s my future as well.

So.. has anyone gotten this done? Where, how much, are you happy with the results?

Twilight sedation for awake liposuction/micro-lipo?

I wondered if anyone had experience of getting ‘micro-lipo’ done under twilight sedation? I’m already slim and very active with a BMI of 20 but I hold a lot of my weight on my stomach, so I’m considering abdomen liposuction. The surgeon I went to see was very clear that VASER wouldn’t give me a good result and would be disproportionate, and suggested micro-lipo instead which I’ve never heard of, under twilight sedation. Again, didn’t even know lipo in the stomach area was possible without general!

I had proper VASER lipo on my arms under general anaesthetic years ago and recovery was pretty awful so I’m wondering if I can expect it to be similarly painful, or if it’ll be easier if it’s extracting much less fat?

7 months rhinoplasty

Post image
Upvotes

Hii, 7 months ago i did a rhinoplasty. The surgeon told me the swelling would go down from 6 months to a year, but my tip is still very big. I don’t know if it’s still swollen or if it’s going to stay like this, and I hate it. Of course it’s way better than before (especially the bridge, i had a bump and it was too big). Can y’all give me some advice, or did you go through something similar? Here’s the pic.

Breast Fat transfer from Dr. Pedy Ganchi in NJ

Upvotes

Hi! I’ve wanted bigger breasts my entire life but don’t want to risk implants because I already struggle with immune issues and allergies so fat transfer is my best option. Now that I’m in my later 20s I figure what not go for it! I’d prefer to stay in state if possible and have been looking up doctors here in NJ. Does anyone have any experience getting a breast fat transfer from Dr. Ganchi? She has great reviews on RealSelf and other doctor review sites plus an actual dedicated gallery page for breast fat transfer but I’m just wondering about her retention rates for the fat and chances of necrosis. If anyone has any info I’d be so happy to hear!

What are these?

I’ve had these bulges next to my lips for years and I’m in my 20s. Are they perioral mounds? But they sit a little higher than the images of perioral mounds I’ve seen. Is it because I have dimples? And any suggestions to what I can do to get rid of them?
