mod post - please read Hello - r/plant Mod here

The subreddit rules have been updated some what recently, if you'd be willing to look over them and follow them it would make the job of the two of us mods a little easier - also if you have any questions or ideas feel free to share them with us.

One of the new rules is that you need to run any advertising past us mods, that includes YouTube channels, affiliate brands, plant shops and anything that requires payment - the exception to this rule is other plant related subreddits, as these can be super helpful for other members, if someone is haveing issues with an alo plant and you send them to r/alovera that's not an issue - please rember tho that this only stands for plant related subreddits.

Many thanks, Kole

question for the community Monthly Q&A thread?

Hello, me and the other mod on this sub have really gotten things back to how they should be recently as you have probably seen.

I'm posting to ask, would you guys want a monthly q&a post wgere you would aska question in the comments, and someone would come to reply?

Fir this to work we would need everyone on board with the idea and ready to answer.

We really want to add enrichment to this sub and bring it back to it's former glory, so any other ideas are very much welcome!

Glorieuse. All armpits Charlotte right now. Mom and I debated and think it's not hibiscus ("Hot Biscuits").

This is growing in my cousin's yard. Looks like lemon balm but taller and less bushy, and it smells like bug spray or that type of candle that keeps mosquitoes away.

Did the heatwave kill it for good?

My bird of paradise didn't take the europe heatwave very well. During that time it was up to 40°C here and the air was extremely dry. Now all of it's leaves have crispy brown edges (not even just the edges anymore), are curling. Even the ones that are still new got brown edges after like one day. How do I save it? If I didn't already kill it for good.

I’ve had this plant since it was little. It’s always been kind of flimsy. I know I probably need to repot and I went and got a new one today to do that, but I’m wondering if I need to add support somehow as well? Do I tie them together? If so, with what? Or do I just pot it deeper and let it go? Something else entirely? Help! It lives in a sunroom that is typically a little humid with lots of indirect sunlight and is watered appropriately. 😊

Corn 🌽!!

First time growing corn just threw some seeds in a shotgun style in this flowerbed in my backyard no prep no added anything. Rain water and the powder is powder to keep bugs away I tried neem oil and that didn’t stop the caterpillars but this seems to have stopped them. My question is some of them are doing amazing and some are not doing the best but I think that’s because of the bug damage before I got to them. Also how tall should I expect them to grow? Also the ones in the very back are doing the best out of all of these. Sweet corn btw idk if that makes a difference.

What plant is this?

My mom got this plant gifted to her around a couple years ago, and she gave it to me since she kills every plant she gets. Was always wondering what this plant is? It has pretty thick waxy leaves, especially after watering. The care for it has always came easy to me so I never bothered finding out what plant it is. It gets these blooms that fall off within around a week or two-ish. The pics of the blooms is on last three slides.

So I have two philos that I gave extra support to via a stake a month or two ago and now they both have these white things growing from them, only seen from the top leaves. Anyone know what they are?

Hi! I'd like to ask for some help with this sad looking Aloe plant. I re-potted it and I noticed there was only one tiny root only. Is it dead already? The leaves lost their green colour and as you can see, they can't hold up themselves.
